  1. Actually it is going to be a Hot Dog Roast. We will provide Hot Dogs and Buns as well as the Fire to cook them on. It will be BYOB and if dishes are needed to share I'll post soon. A head count would be nice, hope you can all attend. I'll be heading west and north the following morning.

    Joe

So, it's not a BYOS (bring your own steak?)

  2. Hmmmm....... seems to me I heard talk of Lasagna leftovers for supper? So I'm thinkin, today those are REALLY left overs! Hope you had a great supper there, I ws so full all day, I ate a few peanuts for Happy Hour and salad for supper! It was a really fun breakfast gathering though and I'm glad we were invited! Looking forward to Wednesday at Da Boyz! So sorry everybody here won't make it! We have the Marilyn Room!

Who isn't able to make it? Count us in ... definitely!

  3. Not sure where you are Jeri. We are leaving in the morning early and would really like to know where you are. Are you at Pilot Knob? Are Freddy and Delcie there?

We are at Pilot Knob. From the rumor I heard Freddy and Delcie had planned on leaving "Q" today and heading to Yuma. We'll find you.

where is every one staying in Yuma? we may get down there this week

    mike and deb

I think folks are a little scattered around in Yuma. Let us know when you head this way.

  4.

Then tonight Jeri, Terry, Lynda, and I all met up at The Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Dang seems like all I've done today is EAT.

    Later,

    Joe

Yeah it was a fairly even swap. Or, was it bribery to get your chair back (the chair you left in "Q")? We delivered your chair and then got lots of low calorie, low carb fudge thrown in. We're inviting everyone to Joe's place on Saturday for another BBQ and another campfire. Or, was it Lynda who invited us all on Saturday???? :D Either way, we'll be there. Anyone else? I think it's a BYOS event.

And, I walked out of the casino this morning with an extra $170 more than I walked in with!!! Things are looking up!

  5.

Starting to get things ready for a move the end of the week. Dang pin is stuck so hard in the map I may never get it loose.

    Joe

I know what you mean about the pin getting stuck. I wonder if we'll be able to move ours today. Paul and Marti moved out yesterday and then Steve and Carol followed. We shared our last "Q" campfire last night with Gary, Pat, Jeff and Doug. Today we're on the road again .... well, if we can get that pin to move again. We're ready to go. We had thought we'd originally move onto the BLM at Sidewinder Road with a few but after the few left, we decided to go into a park and wash all this "Q" grit out. I can hardly wait to take one of those hour long showers. I hope Carol didn't use up all the Yuma hot water last night when she got there. :D

  6. Paul,

We like this one: Usery Mountain Regional Park US 60 E to Ellsworth Rd N, Mesa $20 W/E; dump; 73 sites; first come; okay internet

    Linda Sand

I vote with Linda. As a matter of fact, it's one of our very favorite parks anywhere. It's also one of Sue and Paul's favorite. At least that's what she said.

  7. Jeri.....how did Connie & Kenny enjoy "the group"????? Are they going to try Yuma? Hope you didn't talk about the weavers...LOL

    Later........Paul

Sorry, didn't have too much time to talk about the Weavers but just a little. We did tell them about everyone else. I think they decided to run away before anyone else showed up. They mentioned leaving before sunrise. We weren't sure whether it was to get in the dump line or to sneak out. Hope we didn't embarrass you too much. :D

  8. Two bad we don't have a Magic Circle here at the slabs.

Well, you could always come back and visit the Magic Circle at "Q".

We've had a mass migration out of here. The Coldsmoke RV moved out today. Freddy and Delcie left and even Paul pulled out. Tomorrow Connie and Kenny will pull out and we'll be down to only six rigs. However, on a good note ...... Yuma seems to be the place many folks are heading. Kay made reservations at Da Boyz for dinner next Wednesday night!!! We'll be there!! Anyone else?????

  9. Yes, Lee, Vista is the devil. Many people have upgraded by going back to Windows 97. :)

We upgraded by going back to Macs.

    Linda Sand

We skipped Vista and went right to Windows 7. Sometimes the problem tends to be the operator. I know because I get static at times when I goof up. That happens more times than I want. :D

Grubstake was the place we got together for dinner tonight. Well, not of all got together but those that were around when we left. It's amazing how many spur of the moment things we come up with. It was too windy for a campfire. We're hoping tomorrow the wind will be gone and things will be back to normal. At least that's what we're hoping.

  10. it was the converter that burned up.. but we will be on road saturday.

anyone coming to vegas today or saturday, then going back to Q ? just need terrys trailer to haull 4 wheeler back.

    mike and deb

You're welcome to use the trailer to haul your 4 wheeler south but don't know anyone going to Las Vegas for a month or two.

Guess who showed up today? Sandie couldn't stand not being with all of us so she and Jim returned!! Shadowtracks moved two miles south to his other group but he can't get rid of us that fast. He'll still be around. Our little party continues to grow. Mike and Deb are returning tomorrow and two other rigs showed up. So, we lost two today but by tomorrow four more will return.

We car pooled to the Castle Dome ghost town today. So, tomorrow we're playing musical cars and heading to the Desert Bar.

We've met a lot of new folks and had an absolutely marvelous time this year. Wish everyone was here.

  11. we are on hold in flight pattern around vegas.... electrrical system went belly up last night.. camping world just got it fixed (we hope) so we wont be pulling out friday as planned, shooting for saturday now.

we are a comedy of errors and breakdowns.

im sure terry sabotaged me when we left.. beware of the bear terry

    mike and deb

Oh no~ so sorry. Well, our inverter blew up on us today and we had to replace it. Was that Mike's doing??? Saturday we're visiting the Desert Bar. Maybe you can stop along the road on your way south and visit with us???!!! :D

  12. "The Doghouse" is heading that direction today. Not as early as it usually gets on the road, but earlier than "Bessie Bus" hits the road. Jeri, stand by for a phone call looking for a "Follow Me" guide from the Entrance.

    Joe

Golly, Joe. We've all been standing down by the host station waiting for you. You're late!! :D

  13. Well I'm starting to feel better and almost ready to join the frey. I do think I'll have to pass up on the camp fires though.

Lee the nearest Honda Generator shop is in Parker. I bought one from them last year. They are a good shop.

Glad you're feeling better. Knew you weren't feeling too well but didn't realize you were REALLY not feeling well until I got your email today. You take care of yourself but we hope to see you soon! We're doing a pizza potluck tomorrow if you want to stop by. Just bring yourself and Millie. We'll go from there. :D

  14. Will be thinking about ya and probably talking about ya, and well, praying that Jim's surgery goes great and you have a "Brand New Man!" This week my man got new glasses and new teeth and if we could find somewhere to get a new back, then I'd have a new man too!

Wow! With all those new parts I don't think we'll even recognize him.

  15. On the road again .... well, kind of. Most of you already know that we have moved the location for a get together. It's not far from where we originally scouted and planted ourselves ten days ago. However, it's not in the same location the 2007'ers are having theirs. After being around for a few days, we had come to understand this was a special reunion for them. It is their 5th reunion. They would like to have an opportunity to park together and mingle together. We just felt it might be a little better if those that weren't 2007'ers move down the road a bit.

The directions are similar to what I posted before. Turn off the main BLM road left by the Art and Jan sign before you get to the dump. This sign is on the left side of the road. On the right side of the road is another sign that says - line starts here for dump. The road marker indicates it is road 583. Turn left at that point and follow that road through four very small (easy) washes. You will see us immediately on the left. The road to turn on is about one mile in on the BLM road from Hwy 95 and just before the garbage cans.

    These are the coordinates. N 33.61663 W 114.20251

  16. Well I think we need a vote on this, you know there isn't anything in Q to compare with Da Boyz. :P

Yep I saw them sitting beside the road waiting to make sure I wasn't going to return after my trip into town.

    Joe

I actually have to agree to that. Of course, there is Silly Al's.

Yep, they were lining up waiting for you to pull out.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I just read the post on directions to the site we parked at on the Class of 2007. Golly, I was confused by those directions and I'm already here. :P

    It's easy -- call me.

Or, follow the directions we posted earlier.

There are several places to turn off the main road to the left as you enter. One is by the Art and Jan sign before you get to the dump. This sign is on the left side of the road. On the right side of the road is another sign that says - line starts here for dump. The road marker indicates it is road 583. Turn left at that point and follow that road through three very small (easy) washes and then turn left just after the 3rd wash and road marker 591. We put a yellow ribbon on it but not sure if it will stay. It's about one mile in on the BLM road from Hwy 95 and just before the garbage cans.

  17. We took a little ride today and ended up in Q. After a phone call to Jeri, I looked up to see a Lime Green 4 wheeler with a semi crazy lady driving. So I followed her and darned if it didn't turn out to be Jeri, not some crazy lady after all. Had a good visit with Jeri, Jim and Sandie, Denise(?), Lee, and Mr and Mrs Coldsmoke. Then it was off to the big city of Quartzsite for a bit of shopping before returning to the more settled area of Winterhaven. Yes we talked about everyone that wasn't there and decided on lots of things. However we didn't talk about a Group Night Out for Dinner. So I'd like to propose that we have Dinner at "Da Boyz" once again.

Ok, bout time for Happy Hour so I gots to run. Steve the Baaad Whiskey supply in in grave danger. :o

    Joe

What? Da Boyz is in YUMA!! I doubt they would set a seat for Duchess, Smokey, Skittles, Scooter or Bennie. I agree that we definitely need to do more than one "Group Night Out for Dinner" as you mentioned. One just isn't enough.

We did have a few folks stop by after you left. Do you think they waited on purpose?? Sailbad and Millie showed up. Right behind them Linda and her husband from the class of 2007 pulled their 5th wheel in. Then, their friends, Joe and Marsha stopped to visit them.

That's all I'm going to add. My lips are sealed about the adventures today.

  18. toni --

What an experience!! It's that kind of thing that you don't want to happen. You are right! Doug was crazy to roll underneath. I'm glad he was safe. My guess is we will see you at the end of the week .... BE SAFE!!

Fog is out there but mountains should be clear with no snow in the forecast for today and the winds are light. :D Fog is near zero visibility around Roseburg. Hoping fog lifts before you get down the road.

  19. Well, we made it to the outskirts of LA today. The Elks club was full, but they had a large overflow lot and we could park here and still use the dump and water. We are going to Santa Anita racetrack in the morning to see our niece work out her race horses. She has been a trainer for years, and we have never been in her play pen! We have to be there at 0630, so that is not good, but we can recuperate after! Maybe? Then we will go to a performance of her blues band on Monday night. It was a quick exit from San Francisco, but you have to get to these things if you can. We have never been very close to her because she always lived in Seattle and we lived in Oklahoma. This is one of the advantages of this lifestyle, being able to do this means sooo much. :D

We drove "up" the grapevine today. You have all the preconceived notions of roads and this was one of them. I always heard the stories of trucks burning the brakes out going down the grapevine. Well we drove up it today, and it was not that big a hill after driving through Colorado numerous times. It was a busy hill, and long, but not too steep. Quite a different looking terrain with all the small bumpy hills, but except for the crazy drivers, it was a piece of cake. Well, got to pull a "Steve" and get ready for the rude awakening in the morning. Happy New Year everyone! :D Steve

Your ears must have been burning and your nose itching. We've been thinking of you and wondering when we'd see the whites of your eyes!!!

We MUCH prefer the Grapevine to Tehachapi too but think we aren't in the majority. We have lots of space for you but you have to get here first!!
