  1. Linda.....give one of us a call or text message before you pull-up stakes, the CG here at the Elks is currently FULL. I'm not sure if anyone is leaving tomorrow or not. We had to park on one of the 2-gravel sites because the concrete sites were full. I talked to the host and he wasn't sure when anyone was leaving. Paul 330.933.0100 Marsha 330.933.0690
  2. We stay at the Houston Elks Lodge. It is actually in Stafford, TX a southern suburb of Houston off Highway 59. You do not have to be an Elk to stay here (you pay a little extra). They have 10 FHU sites. Elk price is $15/nite or $325/month. I am not sure what the non-Elk price is. Houston Elks Lodge 151 10150 W. Airport Blvd. Stafford, TX 77477 Hope that helps Paul
  3. Sounds like you're doing GREAT, Linda. Enjoy the Thanksgiving celebration at Rainbow's End. We're right down the road in Houston (arriving Saturday evening 11/17 for about a month) so if you get down this way, give a yell. If we head up to Livingston, we'll stop for lunch. Enjoy your stay Paul & Marsha
  4. Finally got "all the ducks in a row" and will be heading SOUTH tomorrow (Saturday). It will be good to be back on the road in our new rig. Even better to get out of this cold and rainy Ohio weather. Safe travels everyone Paul
  5. That's the delay. Truck won't be ready (hitch, etc) until the end of next week. Around the 2nd or 3rd of Nov. Luckily, the weather people seem to be changing the snow prediction and are now calling for only rain....LOTS OF RAIN...but that beats the heck out of snow! Paul
  6. We are still in Ohio (sorry, never updated map). We were hoping to leave tomorrow but are delayed another week. Hope that S..W never reaches here. The weather man is saying we could get 12" or the stuff....OMG. Paul
  7. GOOD LUCK LINDA! What a wonderful adventure you have before you. We wish you nothing but the best. ENJOY! Paul (and Marsha)
  8. It was nice to some of the "ole" gang. (Notice I did NOT say OLD) . Marsha and I are actually moving out to Apache Junction next week. We'll be in the same park as Sandie and Jim. Very nice CG. We got some hiking to do in "them thar mountains" before heading north after Easter. Everyone be safe as you begin traveling for the summer. Paul
  9. We arrived in Mesa, AZ today. Planning to see Sandie & Jim on Wednesday night. Pulled through our first CG without staying....not the greatest. We found a pretty good deal here at Val Vista Village. 50% off - Pass Port America - on a weeks stay! One of those "everything you want" parks. Pretty nice deal. Will be here in Mesa (east side of Phoenix)for a couple weeks. Then off to Congress, AZ at North Ranch Escapee Park to meet up with friends. Y'all be safe out there! Stay out of the S...W
  10. Hey Lee....maybe we'll cross paths! We will be leaving the RGV on Thursday, March 1 and be over-nighting in Deming around Sunday, March 4. If so, we'll share a glass of "juice." Paul (and Marsha)
  11. BUT....can he go fishin' Glad to hear he is doing well. He'll be up and at 'em in no time!
  12. Thanks....I gave them a call. The office is only open M-F so I will try them again.
  13. Thanks Linda and Jeri. Lyn...can't find the Silver Spur. Where is it (city). Thanks....Paul
  14. Hi Sue, I see you guys are staying in Mesa. We are looking for a CG on the east side of Phoenix for the end of March and first week of April. We've checked a couple places and they are booked. Nothing fancy...no need for activities, etc... Any suggestions Thanks Paul (and Marsha)
  15. Jeri.....how did Connie & Kenny enjoy "the group"????? Are they going to try Yuma? Hope you didn't talk about the weavers...LOL Later........Paul
  16. Merry Christmas Everyone! Marsha & Paul & Bella (our cat)
  17. AMAZING....I drive 4-5 hours and that's a l o n g any more for me! Yep....slow down and enjoy
  18. Just curious Joe....how many miles did you cover and in how many days? You aren't a retired over-the-road truck driver are you? Pretty impressive trip!
  19. He picked a good place to have the surgery.....and nice weather during his recuperation. Good Luck.....you will be in our thoughts and prayers
  20. What is Jim having done? Spinal fusion? Where is he having the surgery. Remember, I had spinal fusion in 2010. Hope his goes as well as mine!
  21. Texas is an awful BIG state Joe..............GOOD LUCK!!!
  22. Steve.....is that an example of falling in a puddle and coming out with fish in your pocket...or just the opposite (whatever that would be????). Glad you got the TV ready for all the good football....more to come!
  23. Jere....if you are still in Q check out Grandma's Heaters north of town by the place you get propane (forget the name). They have many set up in a utility trailer so you can see them working. They even have an installer if Terry doesn't want to do it himself. I bought mine there in Jan '10 on the recommendation of other SKPs and we LOVE IT!!! You're right about using propane. Very economical...uses very little propane and puts out ten times the heat as an RV furnace. We don't sleep with ours due to potential fumes. Snuggle up under the covers and have Terry get up 30 minutes before you and the place will be "cookin'" by the time you're ready to get out of bed! (Works for Marsha.... :-) ) I highly recommend them. Forget what people say about the smell. I really don't smell a thing! Good Luck........stay warm Paul
  24. Life's tough Steve. You probably have the National Casino Pass
  25. If you guys ever venture over to "the BIG CITY" give us a call and we can meet for lunch! Paul
