  1. We had a situation recently where the young lady in our spot couldn't move because of high wind. She communicated the situation and everything worked out, I think the site we ended up in was a little nicer anyway. I'm always worried about running our generator when we're boondocking. I try to turn it off by 10PM, or earlier if people are really close. Lucky for us we've been able to find sites pretty far away from other people. Our kids can get a little rowdy too, but when it starts getting late everyone has to start winding down by 9PM and in bed by 10.
  2. What was the problem with your generator and did you get it fixed? I've been really interested in generators since my little gas unit started cutting out in the Utah desert. It was actually a combination of fuel/exhaust issues. I ended up cleaning the spark arrestor but still had a fuel issue until I figured out the shutoff switch had somehow shifted so I had to turn it past the "on" position to have it fully open. It works good now, but at 2,000 watts starting it never could power the AC.
  3. We've had Starlink through 10 states and it always works, but sometimes the speed is throttled with the RV plan. The latency is alot lower than with cell tower Internet and I've seen the speed is between 20/Mbs and 175/Mbs. Another upside is that the upload speed is faster, so putting my Youtube videos up takes less time. We've had terrible cell phone service with Mintmobile, but when the Starlink is up we can do wifi calling and text. I'm looking at other plans right now, but we have a full year of Mint paid for already.
  4. We were paying $325/month plus electric in Lubbock, TX. That's for a spot with no concrete pad. When it rained we got about an inch of standing water so I had to build a small deck to keep the mud out of our trailer. Electricity in Texas kept going up each month, $115-$200+. But it was July and August so we had the AC on all day long. We're currently near Show Low, AZ and it's $350/month plus electric. There's a few different parks that range from $350-$500. I don't know how much electric will be yet.
  5. We have storage unit coverage under our full time RV policy but it's only good for $5,000.
  6. We always have left our cat in the trailer so she has access to the litter box. The dogs ride in the truck on my wife's lap and we let them out to do their business when we stop for lunch. In the hotter months we stayed long term at an RV park so we didn't have to deal with a hot trailer. All of our moves have been under four hours anyway.
  7. I had mine set around 40 PSI but I set it when the incoming pressure was pretty low. One day I hooked up to a 60+ PSI city water and had a small leak in the bathroom, I checked the regulator and it was over 50. So I would say check it every time you hook up and have your tool ready to adjust. I don't know the best pressure to use I'm still new to this. Maybe 40 PSI is a little on the low side.
