  1. Howdy, I decided to take a break for the road and take care of business and save up for a larger rig. I put a cursory ad on Craigslist and found a serious buyer right off the bat! Almost too easy! I'm giving a pretty good deal but his lack of questions and just wanting to buy it as-is, no counter offer, is raising red flags. We have an appt. to meet at the bank and he'll pay with a cashier check and I'll pay off the remainder of the loan. I'll get a notarized bill of sale and provide title when I get it. I'll give the trailer and keys when I'm paid. Buyer is fine with this arrangement. Will the bank be able to confirm any payment form is legit right away? Am I proceeding with the properly? I've never sold anything I still owed on.... Anything I should be aware of and what is . abetter approach if mine's flawed? Thanks, Az Tex
  2. How does one find out about such opportunities? I've been snookered on a couple in CA. One in particular looked spectacular and one set of reviews very good. Beautiful lake and trails with sweet new rigs lined up on spacious lots lake side...Spoke to a friend as I was heading out here and he said pretty well run down and lots of drug activity it seemed. Sure enough... RV stacked like cord wood about maybe 8 feet from each other! Pretty well run down... $300 a week... Another I ended up staying at dry camping was equally run down and scary (for FHU) despite glowing reviews... cheap enough to take the sting out of it... So actually these events are weighing on me as much as anything as I feel I can't get an honest review without endless research and some first hand reviews.... I'm even at the point I'd pay the $1000+ for a nice place I could stretch out at and gather my wits.... BTW 1000 Trails in Idyllwild is pretty danged nice! True camp ground in the woods with lots of trees and trails. Very much on the side of a mountain and I'd not consider much more than my 22 footer al though there are are some larger rigs in easier access spaces. First come first serve so you can't choose before hand.. I got lucky finally I guess! Az Tex
  3. Hi, I spoke with the people from Jojoba at Escapade. I got a contact number but can't find it. They said almost impossible to get a space even for a week unless I call THAT number! Dang it! I had all my Escapade stuff.....somewhere... ;/ Az Tex
  4. Thanks! Funny! I have been on the chase for 70° and while it looked promising here in Idyllwild CA it'll be back in the 40's for a day or so and 50's the rest of my stay... if I stay... Well I work. I'm a jeweler and do OK. Production down a little but little more in th bank each week after expenses. But i can't take time to volunteer; it's full time work and I have to fill 10-20 orders a week on top of making that many new pieces. I checked some of the SKP Co-Ops but they seemed to have rather long wait lists. The few I considered anyway.... I need to look closer at some of those.. Thanks! You too Kirk! Az Tex
  5. Howdy, Well 5 months in and I'm starting to grow a little road weary. Part of it is the money! To cut costs I'm taking full advantage on a Thousand Trails membership I was given free when buying new RV. But as "cheap" as it is the 2 weeks in and one week out and having to constantly be planning where next is not as fun as it was. Seems every time I get some direction the destination is plagued with poor to extreme weather. Been looking for a reasonable month long stay but currently in So Cal and quite expensive.... Maybe I'll cheer up soon but it's just not as relaxing as I thought it could be over all. Any advice when having doubts... Thanks, Az Tex!
  6. I've been bouncing from one to another the past month+ As mentioned KOA only give a discount. I stayed long enough to make it worth it or at least "free". I've stayed in many KOA over the years. I got a 13 month TT Trails pass free when I bought my trailer so doing the 2 weeks in 1 week out so far. While not part of the question and my sample size small I find KOA are nicer; bigger spaces, pull throughs. Some are more like real camp grounds. TT is all back ins and community oriented. Lots of park models in some. The one I'm currently in has a number of older units and I can see why the 10 years or younger rule has been put forth in many. Some I know are not much more than 10 years old but an abused gel coat RV looks pretty ratty in short order the desert. My view from where I sit is of a faded semi abandoned for sale unit. Nice KOA like Tucson are EXPENSIVE! At least $55 a night and pass only really pays tax. I have yet to find one that offers a break on monthly rates. While TT can be a step down it's not all that bad and I think a great bargain. I must say I think the ratings for TT are semi-phony. The one I'm at now while not a slum by any means gets almost 5 stars with above complaints plus too close to FWY and a drag strip frontage road. I'd rate 3.5 to 4 tops... Anyways... I got both! 7. I kinda like the peace of mind of new...although IME many "new" products are flawed and they don't make 'em like they used to! I've been on the edge of a couple disasters in my time and while it's nice to power the coach it's even better to have one when really needed. Thanks, Az Tex
  8. Bummer! Sorry man! Sounds like a super easy fix; probably send you a dap of Loctite! Odd it's not listed on Honda........yet... Az Tex
  9. For some reason it's not listed on Honda but was on the Honda display and they halted sales at CW Tucson. Here's a photo. Sorry I was only trying to get serial numbers to check mine but the important parts should be readable.
  10. Thanks! After shopping I just went with Campingworld for $1009. A used from a friend or known usage would have been an option but the couple I checked on CL needed work. Day after buying a recall notice hit but luckily mine not part of the recall! Az Tex
  11. Would you buy used? I assume despite many moving parts if they work they work. Like any power tool abuse should/could be indicated by cosmetics. Thanks, Az Tex
  12. I saw those Ebay offerings but I'm "on the road" and not sure where I'll be day to day. Amazon can ship fast to RV park I'm at but now that they charge tax a local in Tucson may be a better option. If a large chain I could get return privileges above warranty if it goes out in a certain time frame. There's a local Sportsmans Warehouse that stocks them but can't think of any other brick and mortar stores that may. Do Honda motorcycle dealers sell them? Thanks, Az Tex
  13. Howdy, I think I could use one of these! I have a small jewelry shop in my Airstream and want to be able to stay at work while boon docking! I've down sized most of my "machines" and need clean electricity as opposed to high wattage. Of course ability to run printer and laptop important. I doubt much will be run at once so convinced I'll be ok. AC another issue but I've lived in Tucson for 15 years and was fine in my AS with 85 degree nights. Not perfect but acceptable... Seems most stores have them for ~$1000 But I have a maddening tendency to find deals AFTER I buy something so thought I'd check here first! Thanks, Az Tex
