  1. Well lunch today was good, but the company was GREAT. Jeff and Tina, Mike and Deb, and I all met at Memphis Championship BBQ and proceeded to pretty much talk about everything and everybody. So you all should have had very RED ears today. After much discussion it was decided that tomorrow Tina and Deb would spend the day together. So Toni, that left just us guys to do something without a bunch of women underfoot. And yes Toni, you guessed it, JOE IS IN CHARGE. YEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAW we gonna have us a time tomorrow guys. Joe
  2. Right on, you guys bringing Mike and Deb with you? Haven't heard whether Dave and Diane will be joining us or not. I'm leaving here around 9:30 so if needed, 360-929-1682. Joe
  3. Ok Gang, there is a Rodeo going on at South Point Casino, so it's pretty busy there. However I found another place that is probably better and a bit more central. So how does 12:00(Noon) work for everyone? Memphis Championship BBQ 2250 E Warm Springs RD Las Vegas, NV Checked with some local friends and they said it is still a good place to go. See everyone there. Joe
  4. Hey since I have to be at the Airport between 11 and 11:30, why don't we all meet somewhere in the Vegas area for lunch. I don't really know the area, but I do know the Cafe in the South Point Casino used to be pretty dang good. Actually having dinner there tonight so will know if it's still a good place or not. And that way we could meet around 12. Joe
  5. Wow it is nice not being in class today. Of course that means I'm doing Laundry and Housekeeping instead. Only time I'm available will be tomorrow, Wednesday, after my trip to the Vegas Airport. Then I can meet either in Vegas or back up here in Pahrump. "The Doghouse" is heading for home on Thursday. Joe
  6. Hey Jeff, Tomorrow would work for me, but it will need to be around 1 or after. Dropping the kid off at the Vegas Airport between 11 and 11:30. Then I'm heading out Thursday morning. Finished my class yesterday and am going to enjoy a day of catching up. Kid still had 1 more class today then we have to meet his Aunt and Uncle in Vegas, they live there, for dinner. Joe
  7. Hey Guys, Sorry to hear about your lose. Rest assured she is playing at the Rainbow Bridge while she waits for you. Joe
  8. That is a place I need to visit one of these days. Nothing like the smell of Gunpowder with your morning Coffee. Joe
  9. HAHAHAHAHA off the "Aiming Fluid" till after classes are done. However then that Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad Whiskey best beware. Joe
  10. Hey Jeff, Sounds good to me. Were you aware that there is a Road Race Driving School here in Pahrump? Rumor has it that Jay Leno has a garage here and come for visits from time to time so he can "wring" some of his go fast cars out. Joe
  11. Hey that sounds good. I'm scheduled to leave either the 6th or the 7th. Just not sure which yet. Son and I will be in class through the 3rd, then he has 1 more class on the 4th before flying home on the 5th. Me, I'm gonna be thinking about relaxing a bit before I hit the road back home. But, alas I have things at home I do need to get home for. Joe
  12. Hey this place is great. Passport America rate is $12.00 per day. Not as many trees as Lakeside, but they have 2 pools, Hot tub, Laundry, Showers. and they pick up your trash at your site. Quiet also. Only place in Pahrump I stay. Oh and if you want a very nice dinner, they have a really great restaurant here. When are you coming in? Joe
  13. Well it only got up to 87 here yesterday, but like THEY say, It Was a Dry Heat. Supposed to start cooling down today. Mike, I'm thinking that "feet smell" think might have something to do with them feet being more use to being in SNOW this time of year. Jeff, sorry to hear you guys are down with the Punies Joe
  14. Cool, glad your back in shape again. Actually it's not to bad here. It's a DRY HEAT. Lol. We just kinda kicked back and relaxed today. Thinking about hitting Red Rock Canyon tomorrow. Joe
  15. Right on. And your right, that guy really seems to care less. Hope you were able to sleep with all the truck traffic. LOL Also hope you are outta there soon, but if they told you the same thing they told me, all they will guarantee is to have you out of there by 7 tonight. Right now it's starting to get toasty here in Pahrump, calling for 90 today. Come on Air Conditioners. Joe
  16. Sorry things didn't work out better for you. But at least they had the parts in stock. Joe
  17. will head to a Freightliner shop in Sparks Nevada in the morning. To have everything check out. Guessing you mean Sierra Freight liner. Hope they don't have to order any parts. I spent 2 days there recently to get new muffler straps installed. Work seems to be fine, just not real happy with seeming casual attitude toward getting me back on the road. Joe
  18. Ya but it was SUNNY and in the mid 80's here so I think I had it even worse. Joe
  19. Well seems I spent 20 years in Reno the last 2 days. Sure wouldn't recommend that place to anybody. After the parts came in they proceeded to take 4 other rigs in before me. Hmmmmm First come, First served. At least that's what they told ME. So I get there Thursday morning, these rigs get there Friday afternoon. Nope I was not a happy camper. However on the brighter side I did get out of there just before 6 pm so decided to make the run to Hawthorne, NV and spend the night there. WOW you can see Hawthorne from a Loooooooooong ways away at night. So now I should just have a 6 hours or so run into Pahrump. Then the FUN can start. Lee, sorry to hear them Me......folks in that state caused you so much grief. I can't believe that you couldn't have the local Sheriff's Office send an officer by to confirm the vin number. All that would have meant for you was hanging around a bit while they got one free to do it. I do know that is what several states have a person do in a case like yours. Well bottom line is I'm back on the loose and life is good. Now that's my story and I'm stickin to it. Joe
  20. Hey, Joe, we were in Vegas yesterday, where were you?? Don't know if we'll make it back there or not. It still looked like everything is "still hopping" there. I wanted to ride the new Ferris wheel, but didn't have time. Keep a little of that Baaaaaaaad whisky in reserve in case we do get to meet up.... Steve Dang it, I was still trying to get myself outta the RAIN and SNOW. So up at 3:30 this morning so I could make a 7am Service Appointment in Reno. Was only 5 Minutes late and that's the end of the good news for today. Parts had to be ordered, SHOULD be here by 11am tomorrow. Then they will TRY to get me outta here by closing time which is 7pm. So sure looks like a couple nights "boondocking" in Reno. At least they let me stay here in their parking lot. Joe
  21. Hey Steve, Sounds good to me. Actually the place that services my MH should have picked up on this developing problem. Now just got my fingers crossed that it holds up till I get to Reno, 85 more miles to go. Have fun on your trip and do try to get a bit of rest now and then. If you make it up Vegas way before I head back north we will have to share some Baaaaaaaaaaad Whiskey. Joe
  22. Thanks, figured out that the places in Roseburg are Machinery Repair, so likely wouldn't have the muffler. So I headed out trying to dodge between the storms. Rained and SNOWED for the first couple of hours. Really I had Ice building up on the windshield wipers for about 20 minutes of the drive. Once over the hump it was mostly sunny the rest of the way. Pulled into a little RV Park in Standish, CA for the night.(About 15 miles out of Susanville, CA) Since it is dry here I took a look under the MH to see what was wrong. Muffler looks to be good but the Bolts holding the Mounting Clamps have rusted through and are gone. That has allowed the front of the Muffler to drop down off the Exhaust Pipe. So in the morning I'm heading another 80 miles down the road to a Freightliner Dealer in Sparks, NV to get things taken care of. Sure hope it hangs in there for that little more distance. Joe
  23. Most likely did. It was raining like heck when I came through there yesterday. Saw later that Eugene recorded over an inch of rain 9 hours. Looks like the storm has moved further into my path during the night. I'm considering taking a day off in hopes it passes. Well that and the fact that I think I blew a hole in my muffler yesterday. Going to sit here drinking coffee till I can get ahold of the local Cat Repair shop. If they can work on it today I'll just get-er-done and then move on. Joe
  24. Dang it Lee, I didn't order all that rain I had to drive through today. It was supposed to be for YOU. Actually only rained for the last 100 miles of travel, but boy did it rain then. Made it to Sutherlinn, OR, Timber Valley SKP park and am now enjoying some of the Baaaaaaaaaad Whiskey. Tomorrow will be another long day of travel, so I hope someone can keep Lee from Jinxing the weather again. Joe
