  1. I bumper pull an enclosed trailer 25’ has toys inside, filled with cabinets and such.  It is 100% aluminum so light weight but built well.  First years pulled with standard hitch and for past 3 years Gen-Y; by far best hitch and safe.  No issues pulling trailer no contents within trailer.  My Sundowner trailer is by far best ever owned.

  2. Where on the intake manifold do I find the place to tap into the vacuum for boost gauge?

Where does the Pryor probe need to be installed.  Does it need to welded with bung?

What brands are favorites?  Where to purchase?

Lastly where on dash are you mounting gauges?

Thanks, if this topic is already posted could not find.

  3. Sem is really good stuff and they carry the promoter.  Make sure to remove all oils and waxes.  When spraying color do light coats.  Lightly scotch bright plastic prior to paint then clean.

Sem 38343 Vinyl Prep, my can is half full.

  4. Replaced the 2 O rings in bunk heater.  Hopefully no more smell of antifreeze in the truck.  Bought the $4.00 O rings few months ago.  Long overdue old ones were pretty flattened out.  Now to top off the antifreeze, what are Volvo trucks using?

Load the gun, pull the t-handle out and turn it until you find where it won't push back in.  While pushing the "T" against something solid, (your hip works) pump the gun.  This pushes the air out.  It's spurt a time or three, then work correctly.

I hate to think how many times I've loaded a grease gun.  Never had one of them fancy battery operated ones.

I threw out that Grease gun and Amazon brought me a much better one.  Need to Grease the truck when my temps come back up.  Today 5 degrees, headed for Steamboat with sleds fresh snow.

  6. I park my rig behind a 5' fence in the city of Denver.  So far so good and could not imagine having to pay for storage.  A few neighbors park there 5er's next to the house and do not have a fence.  Our city codes say they should be behind the fence but of course this is not enforced.

  7. Will miss you all at Quartzite this year heading for a cruise in a bit (86 degrees and blue water).  As for my truck issues at some point I sell the slide-in camper and find a 5er.  My Volvo is 38' bumper to bumper and will have all kinds of deck space for a car or jeep on and maybe a RZR sideways?  Some of my storage box would have to be cut down.  If keeping my Volvo 670 it needs a 5th wheel hitch and would like to mount as far forward as possible as to reduce my overall semi and 5er length.  Darryl is correct it is all about math.  Start with 38' and say I want to be 75' overall in length than the 5er can only be 37'.  Single my truck to reduce a few more feet; more trade offs.  Note to readers here you can see my truck in my tag line Build Article.

If going with a newer truck not 2024 than a long wheel base 234" + would be nice for toys/ car on deck.  Like what I have 2006 670 no def and 300,000 miles but 10 speed manual which is not a big negative for me 7 mpg.  Late model trucks are still expensive $60k - $100K.  Are loaded with emissions stuff and an entire set of new issues to look out for.

What to do in 2023?  How to do it? And when to do it?
