  1. My truck does not have the "door" over the DEF tank cap and I want one!

I've been trying to search the inter-webs to find one but not having any luck.  Thoughts on what to call this thing or maybe a part number to look for?

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the videos. That brings me to a thought or too. I have a friend who built a twin turbo LS and put it into a 70 1/2 Camaro. That was about 2 1/2 years ago. The car is a real sleeper. It's a driver. You would not have an idea what is under the hood. It puts out around 775 hp to the rear wheels. My friend did all the fab work himself.

    Al

If you can embrace the technology of the new engines, hot rodding has gone to the next level.

As a motorcyclist, it's my personal view that Hayabusa motors should be in motorcycles.  And not those pimped up, stretched out things that don't handle.

    But I may be prejudiced....

This is actually a K-series Honda engine going into it.  When it's done, it will probably be in the 600-700 hp range.

Well dang.  It looks like we're bailing out too.  We were really loki much be stuck at the campgraere, we'd prettyng forward to going, but once there, we'd pretty much be stuck with nothing off site to do.  No going out for supper, no parks, no winery tours......  Not that we don't relish quality time around the camp fire, but the reward/risk ratio is too high.

    Sux.

I did manage to get most of the Cab-Cam system installed in my truck.  Now all I need to do is make a mount for the camera on the hitch.

  5. It's with a heavy heart that I tell you we cancelled our reservation at Deer Run.  We were able to put our deposit to next year's rally (2021).  Right now we are toying with the idea of saving our vacation time and go to the national rally in Hutchinson in October.

  7. Since we are laying low for the Wuhan Flu hysteria, I decided to start some of the projects I wanted to do this spring.

Today's project was to install my new chrome shore power plugs.  One for the block heater the other for the cab 110v.

My originals were a mess.  Very rusty and ugly.

First one for the engine block heater.

While I had the battery box out and everything open, I took the time to remove the master cutoff switch and clean the terminals and wire ends.  They weren't real dirty, but a little corroded on the wine ends.  If you look closely in this photo just to the left of the master switch is a ground lug attached to the frame.  The wires and the lug itself was very corroded and nasty looking.  I took this all apart and cleaned and greased this entire assembly too.

    Both installed and looking good.

After all of this, the lights inside the cab of the truck seem to be twice as bright and the starter spins the motor over much, much better.  I hope this has killed a couple of the little nagging electrical gremlins we have had with this truck.

  8. I put Firestones on my HDT on the recommendation of a local big truck operator that I trust.  They were good price and well supported.  For the amount of miles I will put on the truck, high dollar name brand tires (Michelin) make no sense to me at all.

I also followed his recommendation when I converted to 17.5 tires on our trailer.  Ours are Chinese imports, but again, I'm not putting 100's of thousands of commercial miles on them.  For the cost, I'm willing to take the quality I have.

  9. As of this writing, we are still excited to come to TN to visit with our friends.  Until interstate freedom of travel is infringed upon, that it.

Since this has become an unofficial rally, shall we consider doing a few unofficial unorganized activities?

We'd like to tour the area a little and we're considering renting a car while there to do this.  (Our Golf cart will not really work well for this activity). Is anyone game to caravan around the neighborhood to "see the sights"?

How about a project day(or three)?  I have a camera system that still isn't mounted and an inverter/charger to put in the truck.  I'd love to have some supervisors tell me what I'm doing wrong...

We'll still be there.  I know we'e putting our lives on the line, but the camaraderie is worth the risk.  Hmm.  Someone here has in their signature a line about living, rather than shying away from danger....  Dan?

We are still going to make the trip.  We may need to plan some more activities.  Possibly rent a car to tour the area more...

Anyone interested in showing off their truck?

Mine is a very simple low budget affair.  You're more than welcome to look, crawl around or under it and ask all the questions you want.  If the timing's right we can go for a joy-ride...

  12. I just cleaned up the rusty paint stains around the holes and left them.  Anything more than 5' away and you don't see them.

Someday when I paint my passenger door, I'll fiberglass them in and paint the area.
