  1. Okay, so as much as I don't want to get ridiculed about this. I'm going to put my 2 cents worth  in again . If you want insurance that will Tow your rig go to. Insurance solutions .And they will hook you up? As mentioned Above Do not, I repeat Do not mention anything about a semi. It is a R v Hauler. As much as everybody likes to brag about their trucks. This is a time where where less Information is a good Thing. You know that old saying if it looks like Duck walks like a duck, it is a duck. DONT TELL THEM IT IS A DUCK.Remember it is a RV HAULER. It Is no longer classified as a semi.

The most reliable towing insurance you can get is having a credit card for emergency only. that is your towing insurance. Ask just about any owner operator on the road.

Having said all that, I have towing added on to my insurance policy at state farm. It cost like $3 a month. They said it covers RVs. I guess when the time comes, we will see if I have to pull out the card or if the insurance will cover it.

You might want to double check on your towing With State Farm. We thought we had Towing and thought we were paying for it. And when we needed it, they told us they put us on a commercial policy. Which has no towing. We also did not have towing on the Trailer This does not make any sense. We felt they lied to us just to get our Business Needless to say they got replaced.

While I admit, I was less than tactful, some folks seem to make a habit of asking questions that have been discussed thoroughly before.  So, I would say that in this case, neither of us is blameless.

    I'll try to do better.

Edit:  Of the 190 or so subject lines discussed here since Jan 1, 2023, you've started 46.  Just say'n.......

  4. As you all know I'm not the kind of guy that would send an individual that is looking for help finding insurance through outdated Old insurance threads . What a wild goose Chase. That was total waste of time.  We did manage to find a insurance company that would insure the truck and trailer With towing. They are called R v Insurance solutions. They seemed to be pretty reasonable. If interested call Austin waters at. 1-866-417-1639

Do a search.  It's been discussed to death.  Many of us just self insure.

With absolutely no help from a certain individual above. I think I may have found a insurance company. Thanks for nothing. And for the rest of you that helped out. Thank you. Thank you thanks for the help.

Good Sam is problematic.  I explained in a long thread about that on this forum several months ago.  You can search and find it.  Subject was Good Sam and towing.  I also spoke to Coachnet and they don’t like tandems.  A lot depends on who answers your distress call whether they will respond or not.  Understand with any of them you are purchasing a service contract NOT insurance.  Sometimes different rules.  Be careful and have everything in writing before you pay a premium and read what they are covering especially the fine print.

Just called good Sam's they no longer insure HDT conversions.

I just used my Coachnet policy.  There was an initial hiccup that was resolved when I escalated to a supervisor.  They didn't want to tow the truck if it was not with the RV, but they ended up doing it.  Insurance is thru State Farm now,

State Farm interesting that is who we're having problems with. May. want to check their tow policy.

  8. So as you all as you all know about two weeks ago about We were broke down  And stranded.  Fortunately we did not have to be towed. Which raised a bunch of what if questions with the insurance company? For the past 8 years we found out we had no towing insurance At all on the h d t and the trailer. I remember it like it was yestoday sitting across the desk of this insurance dude and me telling him I needed Towing insurance on both vehicles and His reply was not a problem. You got it. I do not like being deceived like this Anybody out there have any ideas of a good insurance policy for this h d t and Trailer. Thanks.

  9. OK I don't think there was anything fishy or misleading with this. These guys deal with strictly commercial vehicles they may be insured in such a fashion that only CDL drivers are allowed to drive these trucks. You know the old saying if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck.  Their insurance company is going to call it a duck. But anyhow. I feel like they did a really good job on the truck. They did everything they could and got us back. Up and running. They warranted the defective part. Which if they had not this repair would Cost over 6 grand. I feel good about the results the truck runs great. I felt they did a good job. I Would. recommend them to anybody.

Welcome to the "semi maintenance" world, on the road. This one started as a coolant leak between the three heads. Less that a grand was the estimate. They let us park next to the shop and plug in the extension cable for power. Over the next two weeks they kept knocking on the camper door to come into shop and react to, "you've got see this".

We were at about five grands $$$$$ before they started to put it together.

There were few other "road adventures" but not as long or expensive. The cost of getting 5 year old "bargain" ($32K) with 850,000 miles.

This goes to prove one thing it can always be worse. We did finally get our part With any luck at all we should be up and running tomorrow.

  11. Hopefully  today's  the day we get our truck out of the shop and get headed two  yellow stone.we had to cancel  first part of trip do to this break down.cant wait to get out of this motel.keep your fingers  crossed.

I was going to suggest the drive up to Mt. Spokane, but it does require a Discover Pass to access.  Guess you lucked out!

Duncan Garden in Manito Park is beautiful when it's in full bloom, but it may be a bit early yet to see it in all its splendor.  However, there is an arboretum next to the garden that's interesting to walk through, if you like that sort of

    Thank you

I live in Spokane.  Here are some ideas:

What to do in Spokane, WA

I don't know what you like to do, but I'd recommend visiting Spokane Falls...they should really be spectacular about now.  The Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden is interesting...I don't know how much is still blooming.  Then there are museums, places to hike or bike, etc.

That sounds Like something Fun To do. yesterday we  took the Jeep for drive to the top of Mount Spokane talk about a long way up.  But beautiful views then we went to green bluff that was pretty nice Too .We Will definitely check into what you suggested thank you.

Hmm....I've never met you nor had any contact with you, so I dont know how my luck could've rubbed off on you. But.......

Hopefully the shop you are at will do a good job and has a tech that still possesses some ethics and morals. (<that is not saying that all techs are pos losers, but as the pendulum is swinging hard the opposite way, and finding people willing to get their hands dirty gets harder and harder, complacency and arrogance seem to be gaining dominance anymore)

Good luck. If you ever see this rig on the road, dont stop, just keep an eye on your gauges and watch your tires till you're far enough away that my luck can't catch you......
