So you not using a 12v battery for 12v? I was considering keeping one just for this.

No. Not a bad idea though except for the charging part. I do carry a small (garden) 12v battery for other things like a macerator and water pump to fill my tank.

I like the advantages a higher voltage bank offers, but I am still not convinced a step down DC to DC converter will work in the long hall  to run things like leveling jacks and slides.  There are some out there doing it, but no one has been doing it for a long time yet.  By the time I am ready to build my next system, hopefully there will be enough data on the DC to DC converters to see if they will handle high amperage loads over the long haul.

I've been doing it for the long haul.  Victron 48v->12v  360w converter.

  3. Maybe I missed something, but could you share with us why you need such a monster system?

I'm 48v 100ah  Li with 835w solar in series, Outback 3.6kw inverter, and can run anything, including air going down the road.  What are you doing with all this power.. running a mobile welding shop? :)

I'm using this right now and it works great, but I'm baffled on something.

On initial setup, you log in, then open your browser and  a page comes up and shows you the available  wifi networks to be boosted, and you choose one.  That worked fine, but then I decided to turn the antenna 180 degrees and I cannot get that screen to come up.  I've unplugged everything, waited, tried the 192.168.8.1 thing which they show in the manual, but nothing.

    Anybody know what to do?

  5. My recommendation is to adhere to the charging parameters of whatever you buy.

I have a pretty expensive Outback solar controller that I can program to charge just about anything.  Since Li's have no absorb, that got set to near 0.  I have a couple shore chargers (my system is 48v) that I sent back to the company to have reprogrammed for my Li's.   I  just had to pay the shipping.

My questions are; Are Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries easily damaged compared to lead acid batteries?

No.  I've mistakenly run mine down to almost 0% SOC and it recovered just fine.  As of this writing, you're not supposed to charge them in freezing temps, but the BMS should disallow that anyway.  I'm running my air con with one right now!

You'll love it.  No watering, no corrosion,  no gassing, no hydrometers,  no 50% restrictions, light, and maybe never have to replace it.

have a domicile address in TX and be tax exempt? Can I spend my f/t days and years in an RV in VA and still claim residency / domicileability in TX and remain Tax exempt? Can I go head, today, and switch my domicile/residency to my daughter's addie in TX and start becoming tax exempt this year? I

ut if I sell something and someone writes me a check...where do I cash it...where do I deposit it?

What do you mean tax exempt?  What kind of taxes?

You can deposit checks over the air with a smartphone bank app.

. My MD tells me I am in good shape for a man of my age and my reply is   right as most men my age are dead.

LOL.. good job. Yes, it's a shame when the body won't perform anymore. So many RVers have had hips and knees done.  Some are active after that, some aren't.

What surprises me is how many people use CPAP.   After residential refrigerators, Cpaps are a big concern for dry campers.

  9. I see more overweight RVers than the other kind.  RV park exercise rooms are empty.   People use "swimming" pools to stand and talk. Hiking groups attract a few people.

The most attended events involve eating.  Your health will be what you make it, but I do agree that changing scenery is good for ME to keep walking.  Just the tear-down and setup of a 5er is pretty good exercise.

They all hook together in parallel then into the inverter to power everything in the 5W except the air conditioning and the fireplace.

As long as your inverter can handle it,  you could run the air too, that's only 12a-15a each.  And with 1200w of solar (I'm assuming) piece of cake.  You have a monster system there, congrats.  And unlike other mfrs, BB does not specify a limit to the number of parallel batteries.

Of course at 12v you need to watch that cables and connectors don't heat up. That would be my only slightly critical comment.  Higher voltage is usually a good idea when you want to power high amp stuff.
