  1. Located in West Memphis.  Just a heads up for people heading this way.
    Do not go there.
There voltage is WAY to low.  My Progressive industries EMS would cut the power.  As one of the legs would fluctuate from 100-114 volts.  Not good for your electronics and electric motors.  The maintenance guy replaced the breaker with no change. The maintenance guy was kind and said that he would make it right.  He then had us move to another site and the same problem was there also.  The office stated that they are booked and they even gave us another site and if I wanted to leave that they would refund us.  All of this took 3 hours in 95 degree tempitures.
I later found out that there 400amp transformer was trying to put out 500amps.

Would the Garmin Drive series be acceptable vs the RV 770 at a considerable savings?

Will it route you? It will.  But it will not let you input your height, weight, width and hazards.  That is the BIG reason to go with the Garmin Dezl. It gives the same warnings as well as steep grade warnings.  I bet these people did not have a Garmin Dezl in there truck.

Saw a YouTube video just the other day that talked about security issues of hooking up smart tv/devices directly to park WiFi.

Bottom line of the video was depending on how the parks system was setup you could be leaving yourself open to a breach. They recommended to only connect through your own firewall.

    Found the video...

    Ryno,

I think that the folks who liquidate their investments in favor of cash in a bank may be surprised to know that our government and the FDIC have decided that we would use bail ins instead of bailouts for any future recessions/depressions. Look up bail ins. As far as a correction goes, I don't see it coming this coming year at least until the fall of 2018. And we will see indicators before hand that others may look back on in hindsight thinking they should have seen it coming.

    Rich,

We know mother nature has EMP, you don't have to go that far back in history, just talk to any Ham Radio Operator who shoots skip since 1970. We are talking about tuned nuclear devices to do maximum damage to electronics. Don't forget they would affect satellites on the side of the world that the detonations took place in. You really should read the book. Aside from it being a great what if read, it is accurate to boot. That is the scary part.

Rich I don't understand it either but some of the smartest folks I know are in it. But it is always true that to get the big ones you need to understand it like I did Tesla since 2003 and finally they went public in 2010 after two years earlier putting their Roadsters on the road sold out, two years and the year before they IPO'd.

    Duke,

    Think PayPal.

    Ronbo,

" The value is only in what people are willing to pay for it.  " Isn't that the same as any publicly traded stock? ;) Or gold? Or currencies?

Really, fall of 2018?  What do you think are good indicators?  Sorry still learning about all of this.  I was hit hard on BLACK Friday and BLACK Monday.  It took years to re-coupe my losses.   I would hate to jump off the wave early, but those two days bring back bad memories.

  5. I have never been out, but am thinking of going really conservative soon as I would think that we are in for a major correction soon.  Plus if something goes down with Trump tied with Russia.  I would think that the sh@t will really hit the fan.  And it took me years to get back what was lost in the last major correction. What do you think?

I removed our sky light in the shower and installed a base level Fantastic fan (no reverse or remote). It still lets in the light and the fan sucks out any moisture 5 min after the shower is done, leaving the glass door and walls dry. The fan was a direct drop in for our Cameo fifth wheel. Power is from the O/H shower light.

    Greg

Then you need to deal with the inside vs just dropping in another.  Mine has a shade so it blocks most of the light.

  7. If I ordered a new one again, I would opt not to have one.  From the factory you get one led light in the shower and when you delete it you get 2.  So light is not really an issue.

I would think it would be a ton more work to delete one vs replace one on a used rig.

We are selling our combined 10 acres of properties and homes with solar here that are paid off with clear titles before another housing bubble bursts. Then buy when the crash happens in Colorado. We can live in a small A-frame or geodesic dome or foam snowball house. They are hard to sell and can be had cheap as a temporary deal. I am actually taking another look at missile silos but not truly seriously.

We bought scads of shares of four USAA funds from 2007-2008 while they were at rock bottom. Great time to buy and I had 100% of my high compensation position then as discretionary. We live fine off my retirement alone with all paid off and now with SS for us both taken at 62 we are also generating even more discretionary funds.

I am trying to come up with what I want to do with my Tesla shares. Keep them after they rise steadily to 2020, or sell now. I have had my ten bagger. I now need to see to preserving it all. I may cash in early if I find an interesting scenario. I don't like hard currencies at their current prices, and islands with self sustaining energy are not happening.

    We'll see.

I saw a missile silo house on extreme homes several years ago.  VERY COOL!!

From reading the Los Angeles Times article linked above, it appears that Equifax did in fact originally re-enroll you and did include an arbitration clause in their "free" one-year monitoring service, but they took a lot of heat for it and changed it.  The link RV Derek gave is continually updated with new information, and by the time LindaH replied, Equifax's website had the new provisions, without mentioning that they were new.

So links are nice, but if content changes without any reference to the change, it can be misleading.

Yes it has been changed.  But whenI posted that 8 days ago that is what the fine print stated.

  10. Did you check the fuse on the back of the fridge on the circuit boards? Not just the ones in the main fuse panel. I was shocked to learn that the fridge had one in it. I had the same problem once and that solved the problem. I learned this from an RV tech that I called to see if they could come out ASAP as I was leaving on a trip the next day.

  11. Hi Gang,

A little update, I'm retiring 12/24 and have the rest of this week off so 4 more work days. While that's certainly a step in the right direction, we took another big step last weekend and bought ourselves a rig to full time in. We found a pristine 2008 Newmar Mountain Aire with 53K miles on it. Bought it in Canada where our dollar is currently at $1.37 so we got it well below NADA retail. It's got a Cummins 450hp with 1450 ft/lbs torque and a CCC of 9766 lbs. The dealer will keep it in heated storage for us until we take delivery in late April (can't do much with it in Maine next few months anyway. It'll be a long wait to pull it out, but means we won't have to make trips to FL, TX or AZ this winter to look at rigs. The wife will be working into spring, but I'll be working on home sale prep, selling off stuff, etc. We had kind of been focused on a Tiffin bus, but this beauty fell into our laps and truly was a deal we couldn't pass up.

The most common La Z Boy recliner used is the Pinnacle. The back comes off to make going through the door easier.

I looked into Flexsteel. But man are they a PAIN. There was a dealer close to me BWI airport but they DO NOT sell the RV sofas. The closest dealer was a Camping world in PA and they did not carry anything on the floor. I mean how do they plan on selling them if you can not even see or sit on one?
