We're not talking about $1,000,000, we're talking about a generator.  An honest person wouldn't steal your generator if you accidentally put it in their campsite.  A thief will steal it out of your campsite, unless you put a cable and lock around it.  So, you don't need a lock to keep an honest person from stealing your generator, but you might need one to keep a thief from taking it.

I never said that your neighbor would steal it.  It is OK if we agree to disagree.  Some people get the saying and some don’t.  It just stuck with me.  Just like the pen is mightier then a sword. No need to comment on that one.

Just because it "stuck" with you, doesn't make it true.  Many thefts, especially from vehicles, are opportunity thefts.  I had a bicycle stolen from beside my RV one night.  It was found in a ditch a couple of miles away and next to a subdivision.  Most likely some kid got tired of walking and saw my bike just sitting there.  I doubt it would have been stolen if I had put a cable and lock around it.

An item like a generator unsecured in the back of a pickup truck is like eye candy to a thief.  Snatch and grab, impulsive, quick in and out.

Let’s just say you had a clear, translucent indestructible box with $1,000,000 of cash in it.  If you did not secure it to a strong fixed point, it would be stolen.  Even an honest person might be tempted to steal your $1,000,000 if it was not secured at all.  If you put a cheap chain on it, it more then likely would be taken.   If you put a HEAVY duty chain on it it would be less likely.  This is the point of the saying, Locks keep honest people honest.  I bet most honest people would be tempted to steal your $1,000,000 cash in a box if they could just walk up and cary it away and get away with it.

The less effort needed to take something is more likely to be taken.

Remember to budget for some form of anti theft device. High tensile chain and a matching padlock as a minimum.

One of my bosses growing up told me once, “Locks keep honest people honest.  If someone really wants it, they will get it.”  It has stuck with me.

  4. Sorry it was APHA founder and CEO that stepped down, https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/aphria-ceo-and-one-founder-transitioning-out-of-roles-2019-1-1027861948

I took other positions in CGC- Canopy Growth, CNTTF- cann trust holdings,  added to ACB- Aurora Cannabis and APHA- Aphria inc.

I like you are in it for the long hall.  I think in 3-5 years it will pay off big time.  The only thing that might change is if the Federal Government legal lives Pot.  As then the banking side of it will be legal.  But I do not see that happening anytime soon.

Most of these are also getting into HEMP and CBD oils.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!  We crossed the new bridge from Kentucky into Indiana in June and low and behold it is a toll bridge with NO toll booths, just a camera taking pictures and then they send you a bill.  It is all electronic.  Did not see any signs telling you about the toll ( may have not seen it as we were busy watching traffic ).  We have no choice but to drive across as it is the only way to get from Kentucky into Indiana.  Not sure if the bridge going south is toll or not.  New bridge makes the two separate bridges one way traffic.  Probably will try to avoid this area in the future, if that is possible.  There loss.

I just have avoid tolls in my Garmin Dezl.

SD doesn't share vehicle information relating to automated speed violations and such automated devices are illegal in the State.

We, also, had a TX toll sent to us by mail; one that hadn't properly been read by the TX-Tag system.

That would be good news as I think a speed camera got me in MD a couple of months ago in my toad.

I'm sorry you took a loss. We're on the way to a bear market long term but there may be several repeats of the last week. I was tempted to buy during the market's slips last week but I'm looking for good buys when the real recession hits, like when I bought in 2008, and again in 2010 when Tesla did their IPO. I just sold at $348 couple of months ago just to not get sucked into a long low cycle due to shorts when I need ready cash to buy our new house. I was down about $11k out of 5000 shares of ACB and NBEV stays about twice what I paid. But these are just long positions I feel confident will grow into serious profits like Tesla did in eight year holding it. I'm looking for them to be making that serious money in from a year to five years.

I just took about 1/7th of what I made from Tesla and the pot stocks are not savings or our retirement. It is, like when I bought $25k of TSLA in 2010, discretionary funds. If I lose it all it won't cause our lifestyle to change at all. But U am not a fool, I expect to make money. But don't want anyone to do as I do. I could lose these two plays. So I'll see how they do over time.

No I wasn't aiming that question at you because the last you said was you were doing a stop loss.

The best opportunities are clear to see when everyone around me is yelling the sky is falling! I get emotional about bad information when the facts are available.

Good luck with your next play/s! ;)

With this last adjustment over the past 3 months it usually takes something like 4 1/2 to recover what was lost.  I still think there is some more downside coming, so I wanted to minimize my losses.  And now I have cash sitting and waiting to really go to work for me.  But for now it will sit in a high yield account.

I might put a little more into my pot stocks.  I think I am also going to look into hemp stocks.

I hope no one sold at a loss before the pendulum swung back.

If you mean me, yes I sold EVERY position I had in the market.  I should have just put a stop loss on everything.  I just consider it a 22k  to 25k lesson that I missed out on today’s gains alone. I am sitting out for a while and waiting for it to drop even more.

funny how the shut down is not brining the market down anymore.....

so wihen I post sell, you should buy.

    come on Trump, tweet something.....

  9. SELL SELL SELL.  The “Christmas rally” was a bust.  I am tired of losing thousands every day.  I think I am going to sit on the side line and wait for the government to open and the China trade deal to settle.  The good thing is that interest rates are up and I can get an OK percentage.  Anything is better then minus 30% and still dripping like a rock.

when the big winner of the day was the VIX, that is a SIGN.

  10. The  Bears hit big in October to current, wiping pretty much all of this years gains.  The PE ratios for a lot of stocks are very cheap right now. The slowing economy has been “baked in” to a lot of stocks as there estimates for the 1st quarter have been forecasted lower.

The Feds interest rate hikes seem to be not as much as a concern now.  The trade agreement is the BIG key. But I am going to put stop losses on some of my stocks that I am nicely up.

I saw this on another RV forum. They took a piece of wood and covered with with fabric to prevent scratching the frig doors.  The horseshoe shape easily slides in and out of the door handles.

Very creative and a great idea. My freezer stays closed.  And I use a Velcro strip to keep the upper doors from opening.  Been full timing for 3 1/2 years now and I think my fridge has opened once in transit.

I bought my NBEV @$2.99, and my Aurora 2000 shares @ $7.71, then 3000 more @ $ @ $7.99 for a total of 5000 shares Aurora and 100 shares of NBEV. Looks today like that should have been 5000 of each. We will see soon. I expect a pop then a drop then a rise back to whatever its first limit will be.

Wednesday Marijuana for medical and recreational use becomes legal all across Canada.

    Then, let the games begin!

Sweet!!  I have been watching Nbev.  But I hate chasing.  We will look for a pull back.

  13. I am changing companies with my 403s.  The picture below is my “managed” account.  I told them years ago that I wanted to invest aggressively.  So the really FUNNY, f@#ked up really thing is that investing in a fixed income dropped 31%.  I would think that a fixed income would be more bonds or low yielding funds.  What a joke of this management.  I, a novice invester make better investments choices.  I should have pulled these funds decades ago.
