  1. Guess I'll add my two cents too. Had a good two day visit with our youngest and her fiance here at Boyd Lake. Only two more weeks till the wedding. Everything appears on schedule for that and no snafu's so far! Glad that the temps have moderated to the low 90's. It still amazes me that we're a mile high and they can still get triple digits here near Denver. Stay hydrated everyone! R
  2. Headin' to Kearney, NE tomorrow...yeehaw, I get to spend mid July on the Plains. They say that we can expect 100's+ when we get to Sterling, CO. Our turn for the oven, I guess! Jeff, we're heading to S. Utah after CO first week of Sept. Maybe we can cross paths?! We'll be with the "two Dianes" and their drivers...(LOL) at Ignacio, end of Aug. Maybe there too? Been too long! R
  3. Yes Lee...can't wait to hear about all of your new cowgirls! And Julie, that sounds like an awesome trip. Have a great time and give a HallÄ to Lynn's relatives! Lifting the jacks this a.m. and making our move towards Colorado. T-storms in the forecast...could be a bumpy ride. R
  4. We've also been out of touch here in the northwoods of MN. Can only get service when we can find it. Good luck to you Lee...we're pulling for you too.
  5. Oh, now in my mind, I have to go to my "happy place"...LOL! R
  6. LOL Linda! After I posted that I reread it and came up with the same. Lynn walks Willie (our dawg) every p.m. And I always ask when they get back "how'd WE do"? She'll reply..."WE pooped once (or twice)". Conjure up that image if you will...ha! R
  7. No problemo Jeff...I know that you'd do the same. All I had to do was make sure that Lynn fed and cleaned Levi's litter! R
  8. If you're staying at Sugar Bottom, you should check out the Iowa Raptor Center. Only about three miles from the CG. It's a nice walk to the birds. http://recserv.uiowa.edu/iowaraptorproject R
  9. No-see-ums? Are you sure that yer not in Florida again?!! R
  10. I hear ya Linda. We had a pretty good blow last night here in Green Bay and survived the rock and rolling of straight line gusts. Gotta blame Steveo on this one! His moving must've dislodged that OK weather...LOL! R
  11. If you hit the truck stop, be sure to eat at Grandma's Kitchen. The HWH factory is also half way tween the cities if your MH needs a look/see. Great folks to deal with...been there twice! R
  12. How far east into Iowa? Plenty of things to see and do in the Des Moines area. The state capitol building is one of the best we've seen. I second Jeff's suggestions. We lived in Iowa City (U of I) and it's repeatedly picked as a great place to live with lot's of activities. The COE parks are plentiful and good. Especially, along the Mississippi. Generally, you'll have a great view of the river and it's got plenty of wildlife and boating/barge activity going on to watch and enjoy. As you travel north from the Quad Cities you'll find high cliffs (palisades) along the river road that are scenic. East of DM Iowa is rather hilly than flat. You can see how Grant Wood (American Gothic) got his inspiration for a lot of his paintings...especially NE Iowa. You can visit the old farmhouse in the backdrop of that famous painting of the farmer with the pitchfork and his "wife". In actuality, it was his daughter! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_Wood We're more familiar with the east half of Iowa and can give more suggestions if you guys are headed that way! Roger
  13. Congrats and Diane is a trooper! Okay, the big question is: does the color match the motor home? Lookin' forward to ridin' around the streets Durango in style... !!
  14. Well, that explains why you've been incommunicado these past few Lee. Ironic that yer a full-timer and had to get rid of things. Now you can go shopping for new stuff and start out fresh...LOL!
  15. We're not really wine drinkers but, count us in. Does anyone like Thunderbird... Have a great time on your Alaska trip Jeri...looking forward to hearing more about it over a fine Cabernet Sauvignon! R
  16. Ouch Linda. Have ya tried the Hercule Poirot method of hand lotion and gloves while sleeping at night? R
  17. I like your thinkin' Steve! And Jeff, you keep workin' on that trade...perhaps over a few (or more) glasses at Jeri's wine fest...LOL! R
  18. Either way it's gotta be roomier than our Jeep!
  19. Sweet...and room in the back seat for Lynn & me!
  20. Congrats on the truck D & D. What'd ya get?
  21. So glad to hear the good news from Lee, Jim and Sandy! Not much to report from here in the QC's. Finishing up with dentists, docs and seeing old friends. We should be heading north soon. Gotta keep following that pollen belt...LOL! R
  22. It's great hearing of these cancer recovery stories. I remember when the diagnosis outcome was less optimistic. Amazing what they can do these days...good or bad! Steve and Carol, how're you guys doin' down in OK? we cringe every time they show a twister there in the news... R & L
  23. Same here Dave. So glad to hear the great news about Diane! Writing this and waiting for the storm to hit. Gonna be another wet week according to the weather guessers. At least it should knock the pollen level down a bit. I've never been bothered by the lil' buggers before but ever since Jan. in Texas we've been following the pollen season north. They don't have pollen in AZ do they?!! Roger
  24. I hear ya Lee and one of the first things I do when we get into a motel room is ditch the bedspread...you don't know what's been rubbing on that germ sponge! 'Nuther day of rain here and high in the 40's. Been like this all week. Moving about 20 miles to a CG across the Mississippi River tomorrow. Maybe that will have different weather! Roger
