  1. Watch out driving your RV through town. That's where the ol' Red Rooster got side swiped in those narrow lanes. As one fellow told me what he does: drive down the centerline and take up both lanes. You guys have already lost a mirror in Mexico. Of course, you might get some horn blows but, it a short town with big cheese! R
  2. We can only echo what the rest of you have put so well. Lee was a one of a kind great guy and we will miss his sage and humorous words. We will look up at the stars and always think of him. Roger and Lynn
  3. We looked online at the one that Dave and Diane went with last year but, they were booked. We drove out anyway and had no trouble jumping into a tour. We're gonna do the Horseshoe tomorrow! R
  4. I can believe that Steve. It's a photographer's paradise. Lucky for you that you don't have to buy film anymore! R
  5. Thanks for the blog link and info...we're gonna try and visit Antelope Canyon today. Hope the lines aren't too long! R
  6. Checkin' out the houseboats, eh? We just got here yesterday and spent the rest of the day watchin' football...finally! Gotta do a bunch of shopping in Page today and restore the larder after wandering in the Utah desert. Trading posts just don't seem to have my brand of yogurt or cranberry juice...LOL! We'll check out the scoop on Antelope Canyon tours while in town. We really like the campground so far. Lots of sites, roomy and a great view of Lake Powell to boot. I think that Dave & Diane were here last Fall and covered it in their blog. A tad warm yesterday but, cooling down to the mid 80's the rest of the week. Just right for dry desert climate. R
  7. Crikey...at least you had a front row seat and saw who dunnit. Talk about the price of entertainment! R
  8. That was a punch to the gut. Thank you Jeri for passing that along. Speechless for now. Sending good thought's to him and his family. Roger & Lynn
  9. I'll pass along the get well wishes to Willie! He seems a bit better walking today after that steroid shot to the spine. I had a similar experience with Wolf Creek Pass going the opposite direction. Think that my engine temp got up to nearly 209 degrees just before the descent. It usually runs in the high 180's. R
  10. Welcome back (to the road) you two and glad that you were finally able to get those recalls done! We know exactly how frustrating it can be getting anything done at a big truck place. They always tell ya to bring it in first thing in the a.m. and you're lucky if it's a.m. when they finally just look at it. Dave, I hope your recall goes better. Not a bad idea having Diane drive the truck over Wolf Creek Pass. I had Lynn drive the Jeep over. Partly because we didn't have far to go but, I did have to gear down and exhaust brake it for quite a ways. Just got back from the vet's office and dropped $420. Couple days ago, Willie stopped eating and drinking and could hardly walk. Thought at first that he might be missing his two girlfriends (Diane and Dianne) and just in a funk. Turns out that had slipped a disc in his spine and they discovered other joint issues. Gave him a steroid shot and some anti inflammatory pills. Bottom line is that he's getting old like the rest of us! R
  11. We're having a great time here in Ignacio, CO with Dave and Diane and Dianne and Tom. We went bowling yesterday at the casino where I promptly pulled a muscle in my thigh. Hadn't bowled in about 30 years and I don't recall bowling being that "strenuous"! Glad to hear that all turned out well for you Steve! Reminds me of a similar incident we had with a leaking fuel hose. The shop had to really hunt around in Fayetteville, AR to find a replacement. When they did and went to install it (late in the day) they discovered that the "custom cut" hose was too short...argh. Had to send for another and got to drive back to the Elks in rush hour traffic. We'll have to slate for discussion your incident in this afternoon's cranberry session! R
  12. Didn't realize that you guys are near Helena. We've stayed at the fairgrounds there several times when visiting my old room mate. In fact, I think that you guys came out and visited! R
  13. Love catchin' walleye and love eatin' 'em! Hoping to get up that way next season. How's the campgrounds there? R
  14. That really is cool when you run into old acquaintances. Did you two recognize each other right away? Some people hardly change and others look like they were rode hard! R
  15. Thanks for sharing that Jeri...gotta go by some stamps!
  16. I knew you knew, Linda...just a poor attempt on my part to add a lil' levity to this topic. R
  17. I know you Linda! How soon they forget...sigh...Roger (class of 2012).
  18. It wasn't that good as I recall...maybe if it was cooked differently. Maybe some more butter? R
  19. Heck, if they're as good as Steve's spaghetti, I'll take 'em. Still got the recipe tagged to the fridge! R
  20. Marmot, possum...pass the butter...I'll try MOST everything once! R
  21. I've had barbequed possum but, not buttered...must be an Oklahoma delicacy...LOL! R
  22. I hope not Jeri, I think that Lee would be disappointed...
