  1. Are you going to see the big ball of string? I think it is close to there. Also the Russel Stover candy factory is in Iola, NE with a real factory outlet store in front. Just be sure you eat real food before going or EVERYTHING looks too good. Hope you dodge all that stormy weather. Diane

We drove by the ball yesterday on our way to Glen Elder S P here in Kansas. Today was laundry and then back to Cawker City to see the ball of twine up close. Yikes.

Before we went into Kansas we drove to Kearney, Neb. to the Great Platte River Road Gateway Monument over I-80. Pretty cool.

Be careful on your drive back to Ohio.

  2. We are at Pioneer Village in Minden, Ne. Can't believe someone could collect so much "stuff". Toured some it yesterday afternoon and going to look more today see if we can see it all. Weather forecast for us today says possible severe storms later.

Roger, glad you found the keys. Good weather for everyone.

  3. yeah, Dave we're fine although the one passed 2 miles north of us. Thanks for asking. Looked ugly. We pulled in the slides, jumped in the truck and hi tailed it out of here. It came through just south of the firelake casino on I-40 and wiped out a big trailer park. Then crossed I-40 and knocked a couple of semi's off the overpass and the highway is still shut down. Quiet now, but we are supposed to have another bunch of storms tomorrow afternoon. They did quite a bit of damage today, and one fatality that we know of so far. Steve

Glad you and Carol are ok. That too close for comfort.

  4. The wedding went without a problem. There was a small chance for rain and it sprinkled about a half hour before it stared. Took the tux back yesterday and the other rental stuff today. Tina updated our blog with pictures. Time to relax.

Summer like weather this week. Suppose to be in the 80's. The mountains are very pretty with the white tops here. Its funny how you can live here so long that you take that view for granted. Be Safe.

  5. Wow Lee hope there aren't anymore charges out there and the bank doesn't hold you responsible. Like Toni says can't you just go to a branch somewhere instead of hurrying home?

Julie and Mike came to Cherry Creek Saturday for a good visit. We met at Dianne and Tom's RV. Roger and Lynn were there too. Had a campfire in the middle of the day and needed it.

Today Dianne and Tom went south to Alamosa and we went north to Loveland. Our daughter's wedding is this Saturday. Travel safe.

  6. Roger and Lynn arrived here at Cherry Creek this afternoon. After crossing Vail Pass and Eisenhower Tunnel then driving through Denver was ready to park it for a while. Great to see them again will talk more tomorrow. There is 3 of us here. Most of the snow melted today (6" to 8" on the grass)and it was only in the 40's. Come on warm weather were waiting.

  7. I've spent the last 2 day at my friends auto repair shop working on the Jeep. Changed intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, brake master cylinder, transmission fluid, tune up, etc. I'm glad that's over and now its snowing. Going to go visit my Dad this morning.

  8. Good to have a telephone chat with you yesterday, Jeff. Did you get more snow there overnight? We woke to another two inches! Enough! Hoping the sun returns soon, and the weather is to be as great in the week ahead as forecasted!!! Thinking we will arrive at Cherry Creek on Sunday... will keep you posted, and look forward to seeing you and Tina soon!

You and Tom come on down. There's maybe 3" and snowing lightly. Weather channel say its 18 but feels like 8. Weekend looks very nice though. See you Sunday if not earlier.

  9. OK, lets talk abut FireLake casino here. Did you know there were two of them? One called FireLake Grand and the other just FireLake? Both in Shawnee, Oklahoma? People got confused so the Grand apparently dropped FireLake from it's name. I didn't know any of this so I am now at the wrong FireLake casino. I don't think there ever was an ice cream machine at this one. But it has sewer hookups instead of an uphill dump so I think I'll just stay right here until this incoming front passes by. Unless security finally shows up and wants too much money. Most casinos don't want too much money for RV parking, though, so I'm not worrying about it.

Happy anniversary Steve and Carol. Hope the photography convention was a good one.

Linda we came from the Tyler, Tx. and stopped at that casino. It looked different from what we saw on Google earth and it wasn't next to I-40. I asked some guys and the said to continue to I-40 up Hwy. 177 then go toward OKC. You're really close, less than 10miles. Think its exit 178. Ice cream.

  10. We made to Colorado Springs yesterday and boonedocked at the Elks. Will move to Cherry Creek tomorrow hopefully before the snow starts flying. Yuck! This is toooo early to be here. Oh well. We do have a wedding soon.

Tom and Dianne I was going to complain about having to close our slides Wed. night because of the wind but it wasn't 5 nights like you. Wow and you had a lot of snow too.

I believe I heard talk of a cloaking device for the famous ice cream machine. That way its whereabouts can change without being noticed. By the way that ice cream is real good. enjoyed it a couple of time while we were there.

    Stay safe.

  11. We were suppose to be in Denver for RV repairs 4/18. I called them and had to leave a voicemail to cancel so we're staying south until the weekend in Amarillo, Tx. Stay warm and dry everyone and we'll see some of you at Cherry Creek.

I don't mind going to see snow. I just don't want it coming to me so I thought we'd avoid it this time.

  12. We had a very good day with Carol and Steve. Lunch at the Casino then a tour of downtown Oklahoma City. We didn't realize there was so much going on in OKC. Thanks so much for spending time with us and showing us around. Be safe and we'll catch up with you down the road.
