  1. That was a good time last year in spite of the s--- and cold. It should be in the 70's by the weekend. Yippee! The drive up from Pueblo we had a 20 - 30 mph head wind ,wet roads and blowing s--- from the north side of Colorado Springs. Not much of the white stuff on the ground this morning, melting fast. We'll see you guys this summer. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  2. AAAGGGGHHHH! This why we left beautiful Colorado. We want more Summer. This is one reason why I don't like reservations. We have reservations at Cherry Creek State Park starting today in Aurora. They could have up to 10" of s--- ( that's for you Lee) and a high temp of 37 today. Going in the 20's tonight. Sitting here west of Pueblo, Co. waiting for the highways to clear so we can get to the Park. 2 electric heaters and the house furnace are working to keep us warm. Three weeks from now we'll move on and I hope we find Summer soon. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  3. Glad you're well. That's funny too about the armadillo. You'll find some new delicacies to try out west too. LOL. Later. Jeff
  4. Sorry we missed you too. Have a good Summer and we'll see you in Q. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  5. Wait a minute. It's called the Quad Cities and there are 5 cities. Huh.
  6. Dave, it didn't snow that much. Just got the road wet and the rv and Jeep dirty. Suppose to be wet Sunday, our next travel day. Going back over the mountains to Pueblo. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  7. Just a couple of weeks ago I was in 100 degree temps in Big Bend National Park, Texas. As Roger says you have the wheels come on out and see the USA. How you doing Charley? Jeff
  8. Move yesterday from Albuquerque to Montrose, Co. There was weather moving in so wanted to miss it. Unfortunately there was road construction between Silverton and Ouray that delayed our trip. We sat on top of Red Mountain Pass (11,075 ft.) by big snow banks for a couple of hours. We watched tv and had dinner. Then it started to snow and hard too. Decided better move on to mile marker 87 and get in the line. Snowed all the way down to the construction zone. The snow stopped just before the line started to move. The road was just wet. What a beautiful drive. I've been on Hwy. 550 a few times before and it is spectacular. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  9. Tuesday night we went to a Star Party at http://mcdonaldobservatory.org/ Very interesting presentation. It was a clear sky but really chilly. We wore our winter coats and gloves. I don't know how they can remember all of those names. Wednesday was a good day. Went to replace the brake light switch and it was working. So while on a roll I pulled the water pump and a pressure button inside it was stuck. It's fixed. Then it was patch a flat tire on Tina's bike. All good now. Moved yesterday to Carlsbad, NM. We're at Brantley State Park and going to the Caverns today. Tom and Diane, we hope to see you this summer too. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  10. We walked to the Hot Springs the other day about noon. There was 8 people in it. Too hot for us in or out of the springs went back to the ac. Left Lajitas today and got the new alternator and belt in Alpine. Took just over an hour to install. Much cooler in Alpine. Move on to Ft. Davis, hope to do the star party at the observatory tomorrow night. Windy here also today but nicer temps. Get one thing fixed then it's something else. Brake light switch has gone out on the RV and the water pump is goofy. Yikes. Safe travels everyone. Jeff
  11. May have to seriously consider your idea Lee. Of course I had forgot my phone charger and the battery was low. Luckily we had Tina's phone and a charger but not much signal. Auto parts store in Alpine have my parts waiting for me I'll pick up and install them tomorrow. Not too sure about another trip down here. Windy here. I got up at midnight to check on the chairs and it was 82 degrees. 64 when we got up and it's 97 now. If you haven't been here don't come in the summer. lol Glad you got things taken care of Steve. Now get out of OKC. When are you going to Colorado? Safe travels everyone. Jeff
  12. We are in the Big Bend area at Lajitas. We spent 3 nights at Rio Grande Village in the park then moved here Friday. One of the things we did at RGV was cross over into Mexico at Boquillas. The crossing has been open for a year. Our Jeep doesn't like it here. Most know it quit on a trail Jan 2013 and we towed out. Well Friday afternoon after our move we were checking out the little towns near by. Heading back about 12 miles from the RV the alternator froze up. It took over 2 hours in 100 degree heat before a tow truck got to us. Can't get a new alternator until Tuesday in Alpine so we are going to "chill" here. Tina was sick yesterday anyway. There is a nice pool here too. Very windy here also but it would be crazy hot if the wind didn't blow. Stay safe everyone. Jeff
  13. We are looking forward to being out west this next year. Hopefully we'll have dried out from this past year by the time we get to Q in Jan. See ya there. Jeff
  14. Julie, we'll be at Cherry Creek 5/12 for a week then Boyd Lake in Loveland for 2 weeks. Not sure where before that though. Megan should get an ok Friday so we'll head for Big Bend Nat Park again on Monday. Don't know for how long then north toward Colorado. Jeff
  15. Timing is everything. Glad it went well. Congrats. Stay warm, it's coming through here now. Tina and Jeff
  16. Seems like life is always throwing curveballs. If it isn't one thing its 10 others. It's all about handling it. Sometime it's not much fun. Friends were volunteering near Savannah, Ga. at Christmas and their frig went out. They ended up at Alliance coach in Wildwood, Fl. They up graded to a residential frig. Think they were without a frig for almost 2 weeks. Hang in there. Jeff
  17. We were homeless last night. Had the rv in a shop for repairs and had to stay somewhere else. The cabin was smaller than the rv but nice. The furkids weren't too sure about the new place. Got our home back this afternoon. Sure good to be home again. Yesterday we also took Megan (the big dog) in for dental. She got a cleaning and a couple of teeth pulled. She's feeling much better. Think I'll sleep tonight. Jeff
  18. Thanks Sue. Have y'all seen this one. http://www.casinocampgrounds.com/index.html Jeff
  19. We had lunch today at Mamacita's in San Antonio with Lyn and Ed & Jeri and Terry. Good company and food. Doesn't get any better. Tina and Jeff
  20. Sounds good. We do what ever is easiest for us. We're keeping ours for a long time. Where you going? That big Chevy truck won't even know it's back there. See you on the road. Jeff
  21. Julie and Mike - Congratulations on the new rig. Must see pictures when you get it. Roger - I really think it looks like Donna and Craig's. Very nice. They are at Summerdale now.
  22. The Rverwalk is nice on a warm sunny day. Hope we start getting some soon. Lots of places to eat. Sounds good. Treading water again today. Yuck. Jeff
  23. Toni - That's way cool. Congrats. Jeri - Sure was good to visit with you and Terry the other day. Lets do it again soon. We're getting really bummed with the weather. We need sunshine! Jeff
  24. We had the thunder and lightning too plus a some hail last night. It didn't last long but it was loud. I'm more than ready for warm weather.
  25. Gee thanks Jeri. We haven't seen steady warm weather since we left south Florida mid January. We are waaay tired of it too. Spring break is a crazy time around here. Stay warm and safe. Jeff
