Seriously, it appears there's a wheel under that hitch extension.  This photo's been circulated here before, a looonnngggg time ago.

Yep.  Good memory Rick (for an old phart).  Most of the time I can’t remember if I even had breakfast. 😂

No matter your background, race, ethnicity or beliefs, I wish you a Happy Holiday, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, etc.  I'll not attempt to name other holidays and risk exposing my lack of spelling skills.😁

And to you also my friend.

Hey Rick the T/A in New braunfels Texas is 3.34 tsd now. Come on down and fill up.

    Dan,

If you don’t mind just get a 500 gallon tank and fill it up and bring it to our meet-up in March.  I’m sure it wouldn’t be much trouble would it? 😂😂

Good points and no question it's not ideal. But no restraints would be worse (and illegal in all states) for the passangers.

We obviously opted for the sideways, belted position for the 3 or 4 times a year we have passengers.

Completely understand and no criticism from my end.

  5. Ok so someone has to be the Debbie Downer so might as well be me.  Just realize that seat belts in a “sideways” position are not very protective in a crash situation which would be the original intent. As a health care professional for forty years, our spinal anatomy will handle forward and backward forces especially at the cervical level much, much better than lateral forces.  Remember in “hangman’s” injuries the mechanism is snapping the neck sideways severing the spinal cord.  I toyed for years adding seat belts to my cab and finally decided the optimal way would be with the dinnete in a stowed position, a back bolster making a couch, then three or four seat belts across with occupants facing forward.  Never did it because grandkids had too many other events than going camping with old folks.  Again just my opinion and folks can do anything they want.  BTW folks always point out class A sofas.  Same situation as I describe, same safety concerns.

If you don't have a broadcast after doing all that, the rebuild kit is the logical next step.

However, it is worth noting that you could, alternatively, upgrade to one of the newer Converge models since you have 12V power on the roof and don't need a cable to connect to another router inside the RV.  If you were to consider going that route you should let the WiFiRanger staff know that you are upgrading from an existing installation and would want the power wires to exit the case from the bottom rather than the back.

FWIW the Denali and Everest Converge models are more powerful than the Sky4 and the Everest has dual band WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz) also.

    Thanks.

Sorry I am late coming to this discussion.

One thing I want to verify is whether you are actually seeing a broadcast from the Ranger.  If you are, then trying to perform a reset is the correct way to get the password set back to the default.  I assume you are using a time or stopwatch to timed the reboots and are using the switch that controls power to the device.

If you can't get the router to reset or you aren't seeing a WiFi broadcast at all, then the best option would be to purchase the upgrade kit hat will restores it and transform it into a Sky4.  I'm not sure where you got the idea that the Sky4 wouldn't be supported; it's still one of the primary devices we sell for installation on new RVs.  It can be ordered from our website:  Sky series upgrade/repair kit

No offense docj, just saw Sky2 was introduced in 2015 and is now obsolete (see Jim’s link above).  Didn’t want to update a product that would be quickly obsolete or no longer supported.  Anyway back to problem at hand.  I am not even seeing a broadcast from the Ranger.  I did the reboot sequence on two separate occasions using a stopwatch and the power switch.  I assume the upgrade sets it back to factory password etc.?  Thanks for the help.  Will look into the upgrade and probably go that way.

Carl, I had similar difficulty with one of their other products. Connected via the Ethernet port to my laptop. Bingo, that got me in and was able to reset. It might be worth a try if the Sky has an Ethernet port.

Thanks Jim.  All I can find is a box and antennae on the roof and an on/ off switch in the main power compartment (where slide buttons etc are).  Should there be another component somewhere?

  9. We bought our trailer used and it came with a WiFi Ranger Sky2.  Never used it but don’t have the password from the previous owner.  I have all the identification numbers and tried the factory reset which requires multiple timed reboots but it did nothing.  Any suggestions so ai can reset to factory settings?

At this time it doesn't look like we'll be there because of plans for Hawaii but if we could we would get one of the cabins. If nothing else we would be at the Happy Hours! Our first ECR was here at Va Beach in 2010. We were there with our 37' Cardinal and 550 Ford. Had a great time. We went to the 2011 ECR at Myrtle Beach and stayed in a condo. We bought Pats Pride in May of 2011 and towed with it for 10 Years. Miss It! Once you tow with a rear truck you won't tow with anything else. The invite is open to anyone coming to the area. Power h20 and black water hookup. Its free!    Pat

Our first year to attend the ECR was 2011, the first year it was at Deer Run.  It had previously been held somewhere closer to the Atlantic.

Yes. My understanding is “Toterman” (since deceased) started it and it was purely a social gathering at differing sites…Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beach, etc.  When Toterman couldn’t do it Ron aka Argo organized it at Myrtle Beach purely again as a social event.  That was our first attendance with nine other HDTERS.  He did not want to continue, so Donna and I took over, moved to a fixed yearly site, and incorporated some educational opportunities as well as social events.  It was never meant to replace the National but rather compliment what had been started at the National and afford the opportunity for those that could not drive to Kansas an alternative.

Command Electronics gave me 52 replacement element for my 2017 DRV Fullhouse. I've already had @ 20 changes before I found out that they would replace them.

    Ken....

I’m in talks with them now.  I was very concerned about the temp/fire potential.  They have admitted to having defective boards.

  13. I noticed in our camper (2017 DRV 39 DBRS3) that a number of our LED lights were only illuminating 1/2 the diodes and several were “flickering”.  I was going to replace them and found they were the LS1508-A made by Command Electronics.  When disassembling to find maker and part number, I noticed the light was extremely hot to the touch and had a brown gel discharge.  Further research showed on several other RV forums this has been a problem with one forum having measured the temps close to 200 degrees F.  I contacted Command Electronics and she acknowledged that in 2017 they had received a faulty batch of boards.  They are going to replace my lights with newer.  I have no knowledge if later boards are faulty but if you have Command LEDs might want to check them for heat and faults.  Below is a pic of mine.
