Jason.Osborne
Hillman Ferry Campground is seeking excited Resident Attendant couples to fill a few positions at the Gatehouse and Outpost at Hillman Ferry Campground for the 2019 season (April thru October). Are you retired and love the outdoors? Do you like to meet people and stay active? Then our Resident Attendant opportunity is the job for you. Volunteering as a Resident Attendant (RA) is a great way to become involved with Land Between The Lakes’ recreational stewardship. As a Resident Attendant, you will interact with campground visitors by providing customer service and general information, operate the computer Point of Sale system, inform visitors of Land Between The Lakes’ campground policies, and perform various other duties to support our public land. Resident Attendants serve 40 hours per week and are provided a full hook-up campsite plus a tax free monetary reimbursement for each month that they work with us. We are looking for couples with warm, friendly personalities to join our award winning staff and provide consistently excellent customer service to campground visitors. Hillman Ferry is a very busy campground on the northern end of Land Between The Lakes, and only 10 minutes from Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Hillman Ferry is a 374-site campground located on Kentucky Lake. Recreation opportunities include hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, swimming, sports, etc. See more about the campground at http://www.landbetweenthelakes.us/seendo/camping/hillman-ferry-campground/ We look forward to hearing about your interest and please feel free to ask any questions! Twotoes
Sounds nice but all the State and National Parks I have volunteered at the last 5 summers only require 24 to 32 hours a week. 40 hours is a full time job. 2015 Itasca Ellipse 42QD 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition 2021 Harley Street Glide Special Fulltimer
WeBeFulltimers
Could you elaborate on the statement "and perform various duties to support our public land" which to me is very broad? Jason.Osborne
Sorry that statement was rather broad. Other various duties refers to things like investigating complaints like noisy campsites or dirty restrooms to relay the information to maintenance staff. Calling management when important maintenance issues need to be fixed right away. Turning on lights at ball fields and firewood shed. It’s basically a long list of little things that support the operation of the campground Jason Osborne Assistant Manager Land Between the Lakes, NRA Hillman Ferry Campground Phone: 270-924-2041 Email: jason.osborne@usda.gov

X2. All my volunteer positions I have done were not 24 to 32 hours. I would never to do 40 hours. That is full time. If I work a full time job you have to pay me. 2015 Itasca Ellipse 42QD 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition 2021 Harley Street Glide Special Fulltimer
Jason.Osborne
Thanks for your input Twotoes, but unlike most campgrounds that are run by public organizations, we operate off of our income from last year only and not tax appropriations. That being so, we can not afford to do anything different that would reduce us to bringing in less than it would cost to be open. Also, these positions are very simple and fun. 40 hours is more fun than work as long as you are a people persona and like to be out in the forest. Thanks again for your information.
