Marianne
This spot walking distance to Buckeye (free) hot springs should work. N38.23910° W119.33216° Some other appealing sites on route and nearby but low hanging branches may be too restrictive for your rig. We were there recently. Be sure to approach from Twin Lakes Rd (in Bridgeport) following it to Buckeye Rd. The shorter route (taking Buckeye Rd directly from Hwy 395 northwest of town is unreliable). BoonHauler
Thanks for coordinates guys, much appreciated. Someone mentioned I could join (pay) a boondocking site here on Escapees for more access to bboondock/Drycamping sites, anyone have any idea of what they might have been talking about? Dan & Jen Nevada
There's a few spots east of town along the East Walker River. All are along the highway but that's not well used at night..or even the day for that matter. Like 38.350570, -119.204280 or 38.366224, -119.198707. There are others If you continue into Nevada, there's a few spots along the highway but further away from the pavement. Try 38.511411, -119.209634 or 38.496519, -119.197912. Again, there are others. I've seen fivers parked back in those spots. It's a long dirt road but relatively smooth to get to this one at the Elbow on the river: 38.424037, -119.037279. Seen fivers and MH's at that one. The directory is called Days End. It's a small extra fee over the membership fee.
HamRad
Probably too late to help but on the west side of town on the north side of the road is a closed store. It has a huge parking lot. It would certainly make a good spot to overnight. However I don't know if someone would run you off. I did not see any signs prohibiting parking and I have no idea who one would ask for permission. But it would be a good parking area. SWharton
If you are an Escapees member you can purchase a Days End Directory. On the Escapees website it is under support/discount parking. Great resource.
