Rear located generator

I know Jack has his generator behind the axles, as I have seen a glimpse of it here and there.

I would like to move mine back. So I can have the space and weight available for batteries.

Very mechanically and electrically inclined.

I have a few ideas, just looking to see how the pros have pulled it off.

Well, I had a head start in that my Cougar came with a pullout rack capable of 200#.
I took my spare tire off and put it in the back of my truck to level the load a bit.
I have 2 Honda eu2000i's and a gas can.
You could have a similar rack installed I'm sure.

You are correct; mine is immediately behind the axles on a rack hung between the frame rails. The further back you put it the more you will "unload" pin weight. Mine is not noisy inside and there is no noticeable vibration in the living room. I is an excellent location assuming you have the space.

One downside of that location is the size genset you can locate there. The diesel units are too large (tall) to go there. Plus I have extra height over some units because of the way the frame is constructed. So make sure you have enough space.
