  1.   Finally got back to range. I had adjusted the scope just a tad. Got 5 rounds off.

Really discussed about dam scope. Put three different colored targets at 175’ and looking through the scope I can hardly see white green or red. With or without glasses.

Time to leave after scope subject.  Why is it that I can see through the scope better than I thought I could when building it. But out at the range i cannot focus with or without glasses. After I left the range I got to thinking (bad word) what if the heat from the sun on the scope is making heat waves inside the scope.( bad word again).

This scope is about 32” long , 3/4” diameter with a 1/4”  holes at each end. It should be legal for long range competition.

     (Badddd word heatwaves)

So I will test at sunrise tomorrow for clarity and sun hot exposure tomorrow.

    (Good Word).  Vern

  2.   For a clarification of life span.   I am thinking the last 75 years. It seams to me (and probably just me) that from 1980 or so the planet has seen several viruses that affect humans more seriously than previous viruses.

      I better quit thinking,     Vern

  3.  I am serious about what I am talking about. I am busy with other stuff so I am sorta limited on research time on the net.

I do have some other info on viruses and copper research that has been done previously to covid19. It is on the net.

  4.    With the situation we are in now with the virus, just has me thinking.

Without the Wright brothers we may not be in this situation as we are. Ships travel slow enough that some would be lost at sea from sickness overwhelming the people on board.

Then we have the net.   Some good and some bad stuff just a click away from your eyes.

Just looking back in our life span on the planet for why these viruses that affect humans have just appeared in our life time.

    just thinking,    Vern

  5. I finally got a picture of GITS. I consider young uncontrollable geese learning to fly in a group is interesting to watch.

So with being in Montana for a number of summers I have noticed grease flying in odd formations. And I really would not calling it a formation at all. It is about this time of year.that I see them. They are probably looking for fields that have just been harvested for easy food.

It looks like the parents are trying to get the kids to figure out how to fly in a V formation like you normally see them. They are usually fairly low in elevation so I can watch them closely. It looks as they flip and flop around like kids being bad.

More fun than watching covidiots in stores.

  6.    Search on the net for  (Copper and viruses).

You may find some interesting reading. For some reason I cannot copy and paste some things.  Remember I am not a computer person.

      Just some thoughts,    Vern

  7.   I was a well driller since 1977 until 2005 or so. So with being in new homes to install water systems I got to watch new types of plumbing inventions be used.

Also did a lot of wells at old homes. Older homes previously to say 1970 had copper plumbing in them. Not 100 percent, most were copper.

But there was that debate over witch is better,   Copper or plastic.  Over time copper could have joints or pit holes form leaks. Plastic seamed like the way to go. Of course we did not have time tested plastic to see how it performed. Our first house restoration in 1981 I did copper. Just sorta old fashioned.

The last building we did I uased plastic as there were 8 bathrooms in the bed and breakfast inn we restored.

I am not a scientist.   But with the internet there is many research scientists that have done studies on bacteria and viruses.

       Just my thoughts here.

There are viruses that we live with that has been around possible centuries. But if your look at when certain viruses that really are problems to the human race. That have appeared since humans have used plastic instead of copper plumbing (copper has been known for centuries to keep water better than other storage containers).

HIV showed up about 1980. Not sure of that date. Then Ebola, Sars and I think it is Mers.

There is research done previously to covid that shows viruses do not live long on copper. Some have been done on hospital door handles and push plates on doors and viruses do not live but a short time on them.

That is a lot of info to understand. But if you search the net it is there.  Just thinking .

I have lots of other thing to do today now that it is daylight out.   But do some searching. It is interesting.

      Stay Safe,     Vern

  8.    I want you to think about when modern use of copper disappeared from our society.  Sorry not to give you my thinking yet. But I will in time.

Go back to Wikipedia and read about copper and think about its use in our modern times.

It would help if ever did any plumbing.

      Just a clue for u.

        Vern

  9.   Something interesting to read about. If you go to Wikipedia and search for Antimicrobial properties of copper.

after you read and think about this?     When did viruses really start to affect the humans.

I could not copy and paste it. Hopefully some else can.

       Stay safe today,     Vern

  10.   Customer call’s yesterday. She explains that her new 2020 Fleetwood rv’s camode will not flush.

Could I come to her new RV and fix it.

Nooooooooo I will not.  She never gave a thought about Covid 19

I gave her Fleetwoods tech number and Dometic numbers..  they CEO can fix that da..... thing. I am not.

  11.   Well now today it went bang.  Just a test of 5 lightweight bullets for aligning the scope.

Yep it is offfff to the left. But I expected it be off somewhere. Only about 50 yards distance.  So now I am thinking how could there be a simple adjustment devise be made on the rear of the scope.  Maybe just file the saddle the scope sits in one way or the other. I did not install the iron sites yet but it may happen in the next few days.

Next time I will raise the powder charge as today it only had about 30 grains of black powder.

Also my portable test bench needs improvements also. Should measure powder charges before going to the range and have lubed bullets ready..

need to take cleaning supplies to clean the barrel often. After 5 shots it was getting tight in the barrel to push the bullets down onto the powder charge.

  12.    As for tv sound. Customer stated he was not at his rv. He has a electric meter and I was going to have him test things while I was on the phone.

So I started to listen to the background noise. I have learned to do that for mechanical sounds on equipment.  Just now using for community covid noise.

  13.   Today I called the local National Forest office with where to shoot. Got a email from them but will read that tonight. Busy doing other stuff today.

I did setup a portable table and support system for the rifle. Also gathering stuff to take along such as soapy water, clean water bullet lube and assorted stuff for shooting a black powder rifle.  I may get out this week if all my other playtime adventures get finished.

Now Darryl you may want to find a day or two on your way south to stop. That is if I am not too embarrassed about my shooting.

If you do not see me post on this subject again, that is a signal that things didn’t work out very good.

      Vern

  14.   Back my title for this subject.

I just had a service call for rv repair. I explained to him that I am not doing normal rv repair at this time. Only Aquahot systems..

But I would help over the phone. So while we are talking about his situation I ask him if he is at his rv. He said no. So I listened to the background noise. It sure sounded like he was sitting in a restaurant.

He never mentioned about covid19. At all.

Sure makes me not want to visit campgrounds.

I do not know if I should be pissed off about there attitude. Why is it that they do not get this problem. Or the serious situation our country is in.

My niece is a icu nurse in the Tampa Fl area. Working with Covid patients. So I keep up with her life situation through my brother once a week or so.

  15.    GITS are grease in training.

Twice now I have seen small flocks flying around and you can see they keep changing positions like they are learning how to travel together. At the same time they can learn to land in cut wheat or other grain fields for feeding.

Last year we had about 20 swans in training for some time. As they started more and more fights then one day they headed directly south and gained altitude and they were gone.

We do have 4 young swans on a pond down the road from us this year.

Later in the year some geese will be flying higher and headed south, then the locals will join them.

But are just going wave them as we are not headed south this year.

        Safe Travels,    Vern
