  1. HAPPY SAINT PATRICKS DAY everyone!! Hope you all have a fun day and we'll tip a wee bit of Irish dew in your honor. Erin go bragh!!
  2. They all know that you are dripping with information and are trying to soak it all up. You will never be alone!! Or have no pizza
  3. We had quite a night Saturday. We were looking for this hamburger joint that was listed on Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the North side of San Diego. We were a couple of blocks from it in heavy traffic (not moving very fast) and we were rear ended!! He hit pretty hard, and I was getting out of the truck, to see what damage he did, when he revved it up and took off up an alley!! We couldn't move but were not hurt so that was good anyway. We were lucky as he hit the bike rack and it bent the side arms, but didn't hurt either bike or the truck. He left part of his front bumper and a license plate part, but not the plate (of course) so that receiver hitch at least hurt him worse than he hurt us. I was able to hook a strap to a telephone pole here at the elks and straighten it almost as good as new. I sure hate to see someone get away with something like that, but by the time the police got there he was long gone. I hope his radiator bleeds to death!!! Then when we finally got to the restaurant there was a line down the street, so we are going to have to try that place on a Tuesday afternoon I guess. If I see a black Honda civic with the front plate hanging off I might just run over him with the bus!!
  4. Sounds great guys! After boating Havasu I can see a lot of fun times happening there. You found a nice piece of property to build on, and the house plans look like a nice open layout. We wish you good luck with your planning to make all this happen. We'll sure look foreword to seeing the finished castle!!
  5. Linda, we checked out the Railroad Museum at Balboa Park today. What a setup! We'll probably have to go back again to see everything. They have a whole new room laid out and ready for the landscape builders to start. I can see where you probably had fun running that setup. Then of course there's the beautiful building it's housed in. We stayed there for dinner at the Prado restaurant and it was a fine place to eat. So much for our monthly food budget........Steve Oh yeah I have to duck
  6. Thanks Lee, at least I've got plenty of time to duck! I'm not that fast anymore. I used to be able to check my own brake lights in my younger days. Just got back from a Bob Seger concert in San Diego. What a blast! That old gray headed guy still has it!! And the "Silver Bullet Band" crazy good. Did a lot of his old songs and a few new ones. The hall was packed and LOUD!! Now I will have to slink into a quiet cave for awhile and let my ears rest. The Elks club is just 7 miles from the venue so that was great. A couple of the band members have been with him since 1970, boy is that ever job security. You should have seen the audience, I told carol that there are probably more artificial hips, knees, and shoulders here than in the Mayo Clinic!! Geritol was probably the drink of choice, but they were all "rockin". Two or three encores and they "turned the page"! We just heard from a friend of Carol's that she had been to his concert in Kansas City, so we looked on line and found out he was going to be in San Diego in a week. As they say "timing is everything", so we lucked out. Now back to real life and "when do I dump the tanks Steve
  7. Linda, I'll try and check it out. We drove by Balboa park the other day so I know where it is. Thanks Steve
  8. Hey, Freddy, I can see what you mean, but at least the Elks are taking good care of us. Toured the gaslight section of SD today and Balboa park, this town is what I would call "lumpy". Not big lumps like San Francisco, but small lumps all over the place. Cool 68 degree day today, so it felt pretty good. Now for a OKC Thunder basket ball game and popcorn. Steve
  9. Nice touch on the map Jeri, just look how neat those Class A's are parked! Now the 5th wheels hmmmmmm! Made it to the Elks club in El Cajon (San Diego) and are busy checking out the area. Had a drive through downtown, to the breakwater and wound up at the La Jolla cove beach for a late lunch. Lots of baby seals, pelicans, and we saw a couple of whales spouting off the shore. Great day, and the temp was 75 and partly cloudy. This elks club backs up to a health club and they play basketball till the wee hours. At least they have a nice bar, 50A and water and a dump on premises. Quite different from the desert landscape for sure. Many thanks to Dave for making our map and Jeri for keeping it on track. All this activity has tired me out so I guess a Steve is in order. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
  10. Lee, you need to come out here to Havasu. The rodeo grounds where the fireworks are being held keep most of their lights off in the camping area so you can see the show better. Nice and dark unless you happen to catch a glint of light from a campfire reflecting off a glass of cranberry juice. We had a great time yesterday as we rented two boats and invaded the beautiful Colorado river. Went under London Bridge a few times and found a great beach to have lunch. We spent all day out there and were properly sun tanned (burned) to show for it. Then we had a Quesadillas & margagata supper before the fireworks. Even a campfire to finish off the day. Needless to say we are all moving around quietly and slowly today. Great fun!! More fireworks tonight (whew)!!
  11. Jeff & Tina, have a great time and enjoy the adventure. We'll be looking forward to progress reports!!
  12. Finally got our maintenance done at Freightliner and headed out to Parker today. We made it to La Paz County park and met up with Steve (medium) and Evin and are going to get the boats out tomorrow and hit the Colorado for a while. Great to see them again as they were tied up at the Tiffin factory and couldn't make it to the class gathering. I finally got this new bus steering like the old one did and am pleased with the Freightliner shop in Phoenix. They have full hook-ups there and although not cheap, they seem to be really customer oriented and have some sharp technicians. Looking forward to the Winter Blast, and will be pulling in there Wednesday afternoon. Steve
  13. Hey Dave, there are a couple of empty spots right now with 30A and water. There is a dump on site so at least that's not a problem. Just a dirt parking lot, but plenty of room to maneuver. Hey, if anyone did not get a copy of the 2015 Classless class picture, just send us a message with your email and we'll get one too you.
  14. We made it to the Freightliner place in Phoenix and had the alignment done on BessyBus ll. It really helped quite a bit, but in the process we found out we needed a brake job on the tag axle. Now we have that scheduled next Monday, so now I'll have to rob a bank this weekend to be able to pay for that one. It all goes with the territory I guess. We got a spot at the Scottsdale Elks club with electric and water, so we will hunker down here until the appointment. Traffic is alive and well in Phoenix........ Steve
  15. Jeri bought a Patriots T shirt, Jeri bought a Patriots T shirt, Jeri bought a Patriots T shirt Na Na Na Na Na Na!!!
  16. Nice meeting you too Ron & Linda, you know you're "out in the boonies" when you have to come back to Quartzsite to find civilization.
  17. Congratulations Linda, that will make her a great unit. I know that's a relief as we sold our BessyBus also last week. Sales must have been "in the air"!
  18. Damn feathers just stick in my teeth. Now I'll have to retire the cheese hat till the next season. Aaaarrrggghhhh Ok, Lynn, I can see why you got lost, the tears were still blinding your vision. Was Willie crying too!! Come on to Q and we'll glue a locator beacon on you. No problem!!
  19. Ok family, it's official BessyBus 1 is sold! Now for the exciting news! The new owners Randy & Liz are going to join us in Q for a few days, so you'll still be able to see her one more time. They are from Austin Texas and were old 5th wheel campers until we convinced them to come over to the "dark side". Anyway we will probably show up on Monday as we have "driving class", the Packer game and a few other details to attend to. It's been quite a week, but now we are all ready to p-a-r-t-y!! They are joining escapees, and our classless group if they can stand us. They also have a relative coming East out of Calif in a motorhome, so I invited them to join us also. Now I may have to find some more spaghetti sauce!!! Steve
  20. Ok, I have 33.76888 -114.16916 and that looks about in the right area. Far from Alaska!!
  21. So sorry to hear that Jeri. If we can help in any way with transportation let us know. We will probably be in Q Friday or Saturday. Steve
  22. Good deal Dennis, I have an electric chain saw so that would work fine. Looking foreword to meeting you. Steve
  23. You need one of those "Eat at Joe's" signs to put over your head and have one side packers and one Hawks!! You've probably got a few of those laying around.
  24. We met up with Dianne & Tom, Tina & Jeff, and Lynn & Roger this morning and pulled off a raid into Mexico. Pillaged a few local stores, ransacked a restaurant, ran from a gathering group of angry peasants and made it back by the skin of our teeth. Whew! We introduced Roger & Lynn to the cartel and left them as hostages while we made our escape!! Now all we have to do is divvy up our ill gotten goods and plan our next excursion!! All and all it was a fine day and we all had a great time! Now it's' time for a Steve zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
