  1. Nice day in Oklahoma today. High will be 79 with no wind and clear Skies. Diesel here at the casino today is $3.70 so I may just top off the tank. A gallon of ice cream is still free if you take it by the cup So far the house closing is still on track. T - 7 and counting! The roofers will start on Monday, so they should get everything done by closing which should be next Friday. Toes are getting cramped, but still holding out OK. Steve
  2. Wow, I forgot about the website upgrade going on. When i logged on I thought I went to the wrong site I need to pay more attention I guess. I went by the old house today to do the laundry, and all the shingles for the new roof are there. I guess they are starting tomorrow. No rain predicted for the next four days, so that should work out about right. looks like everything is still on track for a closing on April 8th, a week from Friday. It's getting hard to walk around with my toes crossed, but I'm managing. The trees are starting to leaf out, and grass is starting to grow, so the place will look a lot better in a few weeks. I will relinquish the lawn mowing duties in a heartbeat! Steve
  3. We got good news on the roof of the house. The insurance company declared it a "hail loss" and is replacing the whole thing (on their nickle too). That will take place next week, so the new owners will have a new roof, and a new heat and air unit. Couldn't get that part under hail damage, but the roof was the big item, and we're glad we didn't have to pick up the tab on that one. We moved yesterday to Lawton, Oklahoma, down in the SW part of the state. Carol has a three day photo convention here, at the best western, and there is a casino right next door. The casino, Comanche Nations, has 4 electric hook up spaces and we managed to snare one of them. Fort Sill, an army artillery training base is just North of here and you could hear the shelling this morning. Nothing like a couple hundred 155mm shells to make your morning. I used to be stationed right next to an army base in Vietnam and they were firing 155's all the time, so it sorta felt like home. There is a lake right near here, so I just may take the little boat out there tomorrow and see if the fish are biting. Steve
  4. I appreciate all the support y'all. I didn't want to jinks the deal, but you guys are family and I had to share. If it doesn't work out, you can cry with me too. Joe, I'm going to chase you down and get some of that BAAD whiskey, when I get to Seattle! Dave, don't let that toe get away!
  5. I might take you up on that! We just couldn't "not tell" our RV family about what was going on any longer. We are still in shock and hope it will work out, at least so far it seems on track. By the way, I took my 3M covering off the front of BessyBus today, and she sure looks great. I cut around the "allegro bus" sign and it looks pretty good. Maybe I should have taken the sign off and had another one put on later, but oh well, it's done now. Steve Jeri, we will probably hang around here until our daughter graduates in May, then head north to wisconsin. We have to be in Seattle for my nephew's wedding Aug 20, and at Ft. Flagler the next weekend, so that's kinda the chalk of it all. Steve
  6. Well, maybe a little good news on this front. We may have the house sold! Did I say "SOLD"! I didn't want to say anything until we were a little more sure about it, but here's what happened. We stopped at Flagstaff for a couple of days and decided to explore Sedona. While on the way down the mountain (note: no cell phone service), we stopped to take some pictures. While the "staff photographer" was out shooting the phone rang! Note: no cell service. It was the Realtor and she asked for Carol. Carol came back to the car and the Realtor said " are you sitting down?" and we said yes, then the phone went dead!! WHAAAAT! AArrgghhh! We took off to get down to the bottom of the hill so we could get a signal again and just as we turned the first corner there was a wreck ahead of us blocking the road!! It took 45 minutes before we could call the Realtor back and find out that she had a buyer. We were in shock! After CPR was administered we made it the rest of the way to Oklahoma to see if it was really true. It was and now we are set to close on the 8th of April. It was not without a few trials, as during the home inspection it was found out that the main furnace/AC unit had failed (aren't they supposed to last more than 25 years?) , and the roof needed replacing. Well we finished the furnace today, and the roof will be replaced next week. At least the insurance adjuster agreed that the roof was "hail damage" so we'll just have to pay the $1000 deductible on that. The buyers are being held at gunpoint, (remember the shotgun), until the closing, so I hope everything works out. It was the first time the new Realtor had shown the house, so it worked out well for her. Now for the "two month wait" until April 8th That's all the news I have!! Steve
  7. Sounds great Dave, Joe Spiker will be proud of your color choice
  8. Jeri, you should have just fallen out of the seat and grabbed your neck! New diesel pusher next week! So glad you weren't hurt. You can always duct tape the rear hatch shut. Use maroon duct tape it will match fine. Steve
  9. Yeah, we've got the wind here today too. I didn't much feel like staying outside in it, so I tried a couple of inside jobs. I took the navigation computer out of the dash and fixed a couple of nagging loose wires there. Actually it was a three wire plug that was bad and I just clipped the wires off each end of it and put all new ends on. Works much better now. It was going on and off all the time when driving (always at a place you needed it), so hopefully that won't happen again. Next job was to tackle restringing one of my day/night shades. I've got the pleated kind and one of the strings broke. I think I can fix it, but getting the valance out of the wall is another story. I got a mirror to see if I could see the top screws, but so far they keep ducking out of sight. Maybe I'll have to set a trap and catch them "unawares". We'll see!
  10. My brother turned my charger off by accident one time. I didn't notice it until the batterys were almost dead. Sounds like the charger part of the inverter may be bad. I'll still pray though! Steve
  11. Ed, could it be the breaker on the inverter or the generator that tripped?
  12. IYQ, yeah, that "lawn mower thing". I tripped over it while inspecting the house, it had instructions taped to it, so I made a mistake and read them. Before I knew it, I was riding the thing with a cold one in my hand and the rest is history. I hope I don't have to make a habit of it!! One thing about being back here is we could "borrow" our steam cleaner back for a while and today we used it to clean the carpets in BessyBus. They were sure needing it and they smell so fresh. We wiped down the woodwork too and now are to tired to do anything to the outside. We are going to SW Oklahoma next week, as Carol has a photography conference in Lawton. Maybe I can get a little fishing time in while she's consorting with the photography folks.. I caught a couple of bass in the creek behind the MH yesterday, so I know they're biting. Weather here today is stormy looking, but no rain and 65 degrees with a little breeze. You can sure feel the difference in the humidity though. They have some of that here. Not very many trucks here this weekend, so it's quiet down on our end of the casino. Hope everyone is having fun.. Steve
  13. Way to go Terry! I think I'll just go into the casino and have an "Ice Cream" in your honor. If I can find the darn machine The weather here is warming up. It was 90 here yesterday, but today it's back in the 70's. Don't know if we'll have another freeze or not. The trees are starting to leaf out. We can always have another cold snap here at this time of year. I was at the old house yesterday and actually mowed the lawn. The weeds were getting pretty high and I decided to see if the mower would start and it did!
  14. Happy ST. PATRICKS DAY everyone. I'm on my way to get a GREEN BEER! Steve
  15. We are "on board" the 08-09 train too. Way to go Sandie! Pa, today my expertise is "installing a slide motor", who knows what tomorrow will bring!
