  1. The Rear axle weight rating on the door jam of the truck is what he went by. By that number he was 650 pounds over when placing that axle on his portable scales and wrote the ticket accordingly.
  2. No I don't have any documention or system diagrams. If I do find some Ill be sure to post and let you know. I have the handheld wand as you explain in earlier posts. I would think you might have a solenoid that is malfunctioning and allowing the fluid to drain back causing the jacks to loose pressure. If your Teton is has small door compartment underneath toward the rear of the unit. Inward of the slide on the passenger side. Not side of the 5ver but underneath about 5 feet from the rear jack. Open it up I found a pin whole hydraulic leak there. It never showed its ugly head due to all the insulation and the white styrofoam board they put in there. I only found it by mistake as I was looking out of curiousity. It was a line leaking that went to rear ram on the slide. Replaced the line and all has been fine so far. Hope that gives you a starting point or an idea.
  3. This happened today about 80 miles east of Oklahoma city. A fellow RV'er in the park been here a little while got a new rig. Being curious he went to weigh his rig at the cat scales. Well he forgot to plug in his trailer lights and got on the highway. Of course he got pulled over for faulty equip as his plug was draggin the highway. Based on his headlights pointing skyward. The OHP officer got out his portable scales. He was 650 over on his rear axle and recieved a $208.90 fine for being over weight. The 0-2000 overweight rule is standard at 208+ the 78 for faulty equip. So it seems you can be fined. He said the officer don't question CDL as the RV exemption but weight and weight ratings he does. Cant be pulled over for weight specifically but can be weighed along with some other infraction. Food for thought.
  4. My lci system seems to have diff landing gear and rear jacks. My front legs are about 6 inches in diameter. Similar to the jacks you see on Continentals or semi trailer. The rear jacks are about half the size of the front but still larger then most. my system is a little slow going down in front. But lifts the nose no sweat. Replaced a hydraulic line a few months back and the front left gear never moved while down and lines disconnected. I have the corded control with each jack indvidually selected or with others together. I wonder if the lippert or LCI pump is straining to manipulate these jacks.
  5. save yourself future repairs go to 17.5 wheels and tires and be done with it. 16 inch tires on a heavier 5ver equals months in the shop doing exterior wall, electrical and who knows what else repairs when a tire blows.
  6. Well thanks to OK storms. A piece of aluminum siding or the like hit my slideout roof. A tear happened in the membrane. Come to find out it has the PVC roof on it. Of course the insurance company will cover. So anyway i pulled the slide in....in the next storm something grabbed the torn material made it worse. I eternabond taped the tear and flooded the roof with water. No leaks. 20 minutes of full stream water hose should rule out a leak. Any opinions. A few estimates i got were for EPDM which i dont want. Only 1 would replace and repair with PVC material. Does anyone know if installation is the same for felt backed PVC? On a side note 88 degrees today and it continues to surprise how easily the rig stays cool. 120 degree exterior wall temp 73 inside same wall. Full sun no shade. 70 degrees in here. 3 rigs this is my 4th and this Teton is the coolest. Any other owners surprised by the ability to stay cool.
