  1. I have a Champion 3000 watt generator and it has never failed to start the AC on my '06 trailer. I can't remember if it was a 13.5k unit or a 15k, but it did everything I asked of it. From what I recall, you will loose a little capacity running on propane and they will use a fair amount of it too.

  2. Don't put antifreeze in the fresh tank. You will have a terrible time getting the taste out. Look in your owner's manual. There should be instructions for the way the manufacturer says to winterize. For your water heater, there will be a drain plug OR an anode rod that you pull to drain it. Make sure that the water lines are in by-pass for the water heater. A lot have a line to add antifreeze through the suction line of the pump. Don't forget to put antifreeze in the sink drains and the shower/tub drain plus I always put a cup or so in the toilet to help keep the seal moist.

  3. I had a trailer for 11 years in northern Minnesota. All I did was put the water heater in bypass and drain it, drain the water system at the low point drains then close them. Run the water pump dry for 30 seconds (per instructions), then blow out the lines using the city water hook up. I then used about 1/2 gallon of antifreeze in the traps and toilet. I had absolutely no problem winterizing it that way. That was what the owner's manual said to do. It only took me about 15 minutes to get it done. Check your owner's manual and see how it says to do it. Now I just go where it is warmer to winterize.......

  4. I had a 2006 Dutchmen that had exposed tanks, but the water lines were in the body of the trailer (no cold weather package). I stayed in mine under the exact conditions you are describing. It got down to about 25* at night and up to about 45* during the day. I had no problem with anything freezing. There was enough thermal mass in the tanks to keep them thawed, but the only problem I had was keeping propane! I only ran the heat when I was there and even shut it off to sleep. I was going through a tank a week so keep that in mind.

  5. This trailer came with 5200 lb axles and 16" load range E tires on it. I am not certain of the quality though. They are Castle Rock ST tires. I haven't looked any further for info yet.

Congrats on the new home! You are going to be in for a big surprise when you get a 30+ foot HDT and hook up. Think about 65 feet going down the road.

    :)

If I took my 28" and put my 16' boat behind that I was almost exactly 65' long. I am looking forward to having some room and a more comfortable trailer. Now to see what my little truck thinks of it...........

  7. Dang, that's an impressive drop in interest! I am wondering if they just financed the motorhome, meaning they may not have financed the purchase of a commercial motor vehicle for conversion? Really doesn't matter to me, just thinking on the keyboard....

  8. That does sound like alack of refrigerant flow. Do you know if this unit has a capillary tube or an expansion valve? If it has an expansion valve then it could be a valve problem. Turning it upside down won't do anything to fix it, in fact it may cause some oil in the compressor to sneak past the piston and possibly break the reed valves rendering the compressor useless.

  9. One thing I learned about the Deere is that you MUST have the PTO shaft engaged fully before you lift what you have on the three point hitch. I fixed one for a guy that didn't have the shaft on all the way and it broke the output shaft. That little shaft was about $500 without any other parts or pieces.
