We have no issue with leaving the dogs in the trailer in the same way we don't have an issue leaving them at home alone.  Once trained and they get accustomed to the RV, it's just another home.  We spent a lot of time with them in the RV right at home.  When I'd work on it, I'd take them out there, so they'd see it's "ours" and they belong.  We also put their two favorite dog beds in there.  Now if you open the house door and the TT is outside, they run right into it ready for a trip.  They don't ride back there while moving, but they don't really get that part, they just think it's home.

  2. The ideal storage charge for lithium batteries is 70%, not full.  Freezing batteries is fine, in fact that's a trick to revive bad ones.  They have reduced power capacity while cold, but are not harmed by cold at all.  Leave them anywhere.  They hate heat though.  Still, I store mine in the garage which can hit 110+ in summer and 40 in winter.  I've got some 2012 batteries still going strong, never stored indoors.

     

  3. We have a Westinghouse iGen4500 dual fuel and love it.  During travel it does inside the TT's door, which is pretty easy to do because it's only 104 pounds.  It only goes when we are dry camping and expect to need power, such as for air conditioning, or many days without power and need to recharge batteries.  For a 2-3 day trip without AC it's just not needed.  The remote start is pretty awesome, it's very quiet, and is just great all around.  It's mostly been used on propane, since that's conveniently already on board, and safer/cleaner than gas.  Just plug it into the grill outlet at the back of the RV and hit the start button.

     

  4. Yup, they are also batched into the proper place for the specific products to be returned.  We have at least three Amazon locations in Phoenix, each handles different things.  I had a conversation about this with the people at the UPS store when they were boxing up the returns one day.

    You drop it off at a variety of places with no package, and show a QR code on your phone.  They hand you a receipt, and you're done.  I use the UPS store that's on my way to anywhere in town.  I know Kohl's takes Amazon returns, and there are others.

    I too would normally just pack it up in the spare packaging we always have around, but that costs them more so they actually charge if you do that.

I can absolutely cause inferior service for low-power devices like laptops using a high-power wifi repeater or AP, both on purpose and just through casual usage.  I've tested it many times.  It's also true that this is mostly in places with poor coverage to start with.  When a device is getting marginal service, having a high-powered neighbor will definitely impact it.

You make a great point; Amazon is not the cheapest at all for many household staples.  Depending on what you buy and your needs, Walmart is sometimes a better deal.  I buy most of those things at Costco/Sam's, so Walmart online rarely works out for me, but I have friends who use it almost daily.

     

  8. Tire monitors are on 315 or 433MHz, CB is on 27Mhz, and aviation is 118-137Mhz.  The chances of those interfering with each other is ridiculously low, and likely there were other issues involved.

    The question of high-power radios "taking" bandwidth or spectrum from lower-power radios is complex, but not entirely wrong.  Yet certainly not as simple as saying that people using them were making it worse for others.  I have experimented with high power radios a lot, and they can certainly make things worse for other radios in some cases.

Doing returns is easy, particularly with Amazon.  The ease and frequency is why I'm glad they have started rating customers based on return rates and other problems they cause, so their lazy shopping and high returns don't affect my costs.  With Amazon, and a couple others, if you have low return rates then you get free returns and instant refunds.  Those with high return rates have to pay, and don't get the instant refund.  There are also different customer support queues.
