  1. After stopping on the North side of Houston to get an estimate on some self inflicted repairs, we've spent time at the Galveston Bay RV Resort and Marina in Dickinson (big concrete pads & roads, about 10 will work with HDT's, quiet, mostly pull through's, nice place, need a form) Be careful of the low hanging trees on the access roads. Also stayed at a place called Pecan Park RV Resort up in San Marcos. Trailer wheels almost fit in the crushed shell width. No pad. Nearly same price. Non disparagement clause in contract so can't say much, but suffice to say I do not need a form.

We'll be headed back to Houston on Wedensday to have 3 slides installed and a TV antenna that I can't tear off, then on to somewhere near El Paso. Got any suggestions?

  2. Update from the Little Campground: 4 meals at area restaurants. 1 really good, 2 don't go back, 1 just plain nasty. Great riding but chilly as all get out. Got in the park. Had 4 people helping me back into our spot. Had to come in cockeyed, got flustered, had to stop & take a deep breath (before I kilt somebody). That said, may get lucky and have to back the whole rig out into the public road because there is not enough room to turn around without a lot of back and forth. Oh boy!!!

  3. We looked at this site before we purchased our current truck, an F-450. I was trying to retire at the time and we weren't sure of how exactly the finances were gonna work out The finances worked out, the truck, not so much. A lot of decisions were made that affected our camping rig, not the least of which was the purchase of a substantially larger 5ver with a GVWR of nearly 18,000#. Add 9,600# for the truck, and the 44' length, and the 450 is all of a sudden a pretty small truck. A recent trip to the Smokeys merely reinforced that feeling.

At any rate, we've decided to upgrade the truck if possible. I've read until one eye won't open. Now we need to see some tractors up close. Do some serious ciphering. Figure out how & where to sell the 450. Meet a few folks. Listen to a few tall tales & tell a few lies.

    See ya'll in Kansas
