I can report on traffic on I80 in Nebraska yesterday. Usually this time of year campers are everywhere and traffic is very heavy with cars. At any given time you could look forward or backward and in a 6 mile range there would usually only be two or three cars other than trucks so traffic is greatly down. There were some older class a and c but very few pull type and fifth wheels.  That being said will the lack of campers show up in the RVpark prices?

I left FL on May 1st. Booked several 2 or 3 night stays before leaving. Hard to get a week or more since most weekends are already booked. I'm in Omaha now at a city park. No reservations, first come first served, had to wait till a Tue to get in. Now Thurs is full again. As far as I-80 I see lots of traffic but not many RVs. Lots of semi traffic. Heading to So Dakota next week. Already booked there for 2 months. Having serious trouble booking my next winter stay in FL. Everybody is already booked for Jan, Feb and March.

Take a motorcycle safety course and then apply that knowledge to everything you drive.  Always be planning an escape route.

Agree. I've been riding for 25 years and still apply what I learned in my motorcycle safety course when I ride or drive my Class A or Jeep.

I hope your Dad gets well soon and you Mom stays healthy. When my parents were alive I had my Dad an Mom in the hospital  at the same time. NOT FUN. I had my fifth wheel sold and the guy got covid.

My Dad and Mon had adjoining ro9ms at the nursing home and died exactly 2 weeks apart to the day.

  4. I too moved from a 5th wheel to a Class A. I tow a Jeep. Already had the TSD System on the 5er so only had to buy 4 new sensors. I have the same model sensors  pictured in Dutch post on the Jeep and the flow thru model on the Class A. I don't like the flow thru model as much. I also upgraded to the color monitor when I got the the new sensors.

Now where is that like button? One thing you left out or avoided saying is the higher upkeep of a diesel pusher, it it the most expensive method of RVing IMO.

I have a diesel pusher and the annual maintenance is not that expensive. I go to Freightliner once a year for service. Oil And filter change and annual service is only $550 and throw in the generator for another $250 for a total of $800. Less than a monthly stay at most RV Resorts.

  6. I am a full timer and have spent the winter in FL. I headed north about a week ago, taking my time. The average diesel cost is about $5.65 a gallon.  I top off at 1/4 of a tank. It takes over $500 to fill up and that only lasts 2 full days of driving.  I am in VA and heading to So Dakota. Soon they will have to install a loan application machine at the diesel pumps.

  7. Not in WY or MT but nearby and worthlooking at is the Sawtooth National Recreation Area near Sun Valley ID. There are campgrounds there and a ton of boondocking around. There is a 14 day limit but you can move from one campground to another without leaving the NRA. Plenty of fishing along the Snake River and many creeks. Call their Vitter center in Ketcham or Stanley to get more info.

  8. It's not just the tie downs that are of concern. I have heard of some cases where the ramp on the toy hauler can not handle the weight of the car. Make sure that you have a reinforced ramp to load the vehicle you intend to tie down once inside.

  9. You have a legally binding contract for the sale of the vehicle, offer, acceptance and consideration.  Every vehicle dealer has to be licensed by their State DMV. I would file a complaint with the DMV. Also most States have a Department of Consumer Affairs with a vehicle sales division. A complaint to the government body would also be in order.

  10. My plans to stay near Sarasota FL for next winter season 2022/2023 are not looking good due to lack of availability.  I'm not even back to my summer location and most parks are already booked. Thinking that I may try the panhandle area instead. Maybe Pensacola or Panama City but I don't know the area. Looking for recommendations for RV parks in the above area. In the alternative, also considering going to the RGV area of TX.  Maybe Corpus Cristy or Mission. Any recommendations for those places would also be welcomed.

  11. Well after 10 years of RVing, 8 full time, 5 years in this Class A I am buying a house and getting off the road. Will need to sell my Class A.  Besides this forum, what are some good ways to advertise and who are some good dealers to sell or consign with. I have heard of PPL in TX, but don't know much about them. I am located in Venice, FL.

  12. The Escapees parks in Bushnell and Wachulla are already full. I've been to Yuma,(not the Escapee park) and  didn't like the area.  May go back to Saguaro in Benson AZ. I like State and National Parks but don't want to move every 14 days. Or may just go to TX and try it out, never stayed there except for a short stay in Livingston.

    Have you checked south Texas?

Yes, but the RGV is having a lot of problems now with illegal immigration and after living 35 years in San Diego where I could see Mexico from my downtown office window, I don't want to be near the border. NM is too cold in the winter. Also I live full time in my RV and am not camping so not really interested in State Parks except for short stays. I need full hook up and 3 to 5 month stay not 14 days.

  14. I am a full timer and generally go south to FL or AZ for the winter season. I am still at my winter location in FL and leaving to head north in a few days. I called a couple of campgrounds today in AZ and FL to inquire about making reservations for next winter season. Both were already full and taking names for a waiting list. I am #20 on one list and #50 on another. I haven't even left my current winter location. Can't return to my current location next season because they decided to not do monthly reservations and will only do annual leases. Is this the new reality of RVing?

  15. When I sold my 5th wheel and got a Class A DP I tried to sell my 20K Reese hitch that I paid $1,600 for,  but did not get even one offer. I gave it to my son. After sitting in his garage for a year I think he sold it for $400.
