  1. Take care of yourself, Lee... get warm, eat something nutritional and get some rest. To everyone traveling... be well!

Sorry to here of Tina and Jeff's problem. But always glad to see how our group is right there with help every time someone does have a problem.

When I looked outside this morning everything was coated with ice. I had to free up every thing by beating the ice off with my wrench. That coupled with all the rain and snow yesterday that made my place a mud bath was enough to drive a person to drink. All that mud was frozen solid on my outside chair and table so I had no choice and had to toss them in the back floorboard as they were. Of course they thawed on the trip and now I have a back floorboard full of mud. Yesterday was the worse weather we've had all winter and this morning's ice didn't help matters a bit.

I drove all the way to Gila Bend and I'm now sitting in the Shell station parking lot with sunshine and 69 degrees. I think I'll stay here tomorrow and try to clean up the mud in my truck. That will put me in Quartzsite Saturday if I get a coordinate to plug into my GPS. Right now I'm tired and hungry. All I've eaten today is a bowl of Cheerios and a couple cookies. There is only a sub way here so I guess I'll be playing kitchen roulette.

  2. We were in touch with Tina & Jeff, and Lynn & Roger this morning. Their rig and cat are covered, and their "RV Family" is volunteering to help in any way needed. None of us are alone when things happen.. what a comfort! We are all keeping good thoughts for you both, Tina & Jeff!

  3. Sandie and I had a little outing the other day and were discussing the attendees (perhaps) at Quartzsite in January. This is the list I came up with.

Roger and Lynn, Sue and Paul, Ron and Linda, Mike and Julie, Steve and Carol, Dave and Nancy, IYQ, Paul and Marsha, Toni and Doug, Jim and Sandie, Tom and Dianne, Jeff and Tina, Terry and Jeri, Dave and Dianne.

Of course, Denise will also be around. Am I missing anyone?

We know of two other couples joining us this year... Kathleen & Mike, and Deborah & Keith. They are Escapees, but have never been to Quartzsite... will be great additions to the Classless Class :) And, we have met Diane & Dave (hdrider) and are most pleased that they will be joining in... nice folks! See you all in Q! Dianne & Tom

  4. Another sad day. Our girl kitty (Sadie) has been loosing weight for some time. Went to a vet a week ago and decided a food change would help. It didn't and her breathing got more labored. We took her to another vet today. They did x-rays and her lungs were filling with something. She had about 1/3 of her lung capacity. So we had her put to sleep. She was nearly 15. We've had to do this to three furkids in just over 4 months. It doesn't get any easier. We still have Sadie's brother Levi. We won't get anymore furkids as long as we travel. Bummer of a day. :(

    Jeff

    Dear Tina and Jeff,

We are SO very sorry for you about this latest loss... you have had way too much in these past few months, and know that you must truly be suffering with heavy hearts. No words really can help, but please know that we are thinking of you both and will keep good thoughts as you process the loss of Sadie. Hug each other for us... our time will come one day and we will go through what you are, and it is important to know that friends care and are thinking of you at a sad time. Find comfort in knowing that you provided a loving home! Dianne & Tom

  5. Roger, we should be there at that time. Think we'll boondock on Ogilby Road just west of Yuma. Hoping tdhomestead might be there then. Lets

bring in the New Year in the desert.

    Jeff

YES... count us in! Boondocking at Ogilby Road with you fine folks sounds like a great way to bring in the New Year!!! Arriving in Borrego Springs on the 8th and will probably be there until we move to Ogilby Road. Looking forward to some desert time!!!

    Dianne & Tom

  6. We are so enjoying these few days with you, Diane & Dave! After following your blog for some time and hearing about you both from Lynn & Roger, it is great to get acquainted in person. We feel certain you will enjoy our Classless Class in Quartzsite, and they will all give you a warm welcome!

  7. We have been lurking around the Class-les Class for some time and other than Roger and Lynn have not had a chance to meet up with anyone, (of course after meeting them we were having second thought about the entire group LOL!!! JUST JOKING!!!)

The last couple days we have really enjoyed meeting Dianne & Tom and Tina and Jeff and are looking forward to meeting the rest of the group down the road.

  8. Yesterday Tina and I went to Pahrump to see Dianne and Tom, Lynn and Roger and meet Dianne and Dave (hdrider) for the first time. They invited us up for a very good lunch and a lot of catching up. Thanks so much for lunch, it was very good. Glad to finally meet Dianne and Dave ( nice people). All of us are making plans for Q and the Class less get together.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

Thank you, Tina & Jeff, for making the trip to visit us all here in Pahrump... was a wonderful gathering and special time together!

  9. You'd think we'd learn by now not to make plans. We had thought we'd head from Santa Barbara to Disneyland. However, with Duchess we can't. An old dog doesn't do well. We're going to see how she does but are thinking we will probably have to put her down in the next week or so. It's sad for us so we're turning our wheels towards Palm Springs instead and will probably hang around there for the next 3 weeks to see how it goes. :(

A sad time, to be sure... we will keep good thoughts for you both, and for comfort and peace for Duchess.

    Hugs, Dianne & Tom

  10. Lynn & Roger... SO very sorry about the difficulties you are having! just know that we are thinking of you both, and keeping good thoughts! Tom says to tell you that, though we're not there in bodies, we are there in spirit!

Carol & Steve... CONGRATS on the new rig! Lots of work ahead, but an exciting time! Keeping good thoughts for you both!

Tina & Jeff... glad everything turned out ok and that Deb & Mike were there for you! Seems we've heard that they were there for you another time. Don't we all just love having good friends out there on the road with us :)

Stay safe, and be well! Everyone!

  11. well another horrible weather day here,, 70s and clear blue sky,, yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

we are thinking of heading to moab on wed if our mail arrives.. jeff owes me a jeep ride , and tina just plain owes me.. and tom and diane owe me also , so maybe I can collect in moab

    mike and deb and smokey

  12. One more thing since I'm working on our winter travel plans .... even though they will probably change a dozen times. Didn't we say that our get together would be at the END of the big tent this year? That was to allow folks to socialize a little with other groups that schedule their get togethers during the tent. Wasn't it January 24th-ish to February 1st??? Does anyone remember?

  13. Time to get the boat out. I knew that would come in handy sometime. We are having a good storm in Davenport Iowa this morning too. The people next door (in a tent), had a portable awning that blew past us and landed in the camping spot next door. Then we watched them go over there and attempt to fold it up. That turned out to be quite a show. It was like attacking an octopus with a hammer. Or something like that. Now the rain has about stopped so we are going to go dump and hook up. On to Nebraska! Steve

Strange weather everywhere, it seems... travel well!

  14. A nice cool day today so far, light overcast and only about 70. I'm over in the shop this morning trying to find something to piddle with. I might even break down and do some carving just to see If I still can. It's very quiet this morning. Maybe everyone left during the night but so far no atom bombs have gone off so I guess they are just sleeping in. I sent a note to my niece letting her know what the situation is on my breathing problem. She sent a note back saying she will be here in a flash to take me back east and care for me while going to Duke or Wake Forest Baptist. I declined right away cause I'm going to wait and see what these local yokels say about it first. She is looking at the worst that can happen while I'm still holding on to hope that it's minor. Oh well, It's nice to know she is ready to jump in and help if I ever need it. Her husband is in worse shape than I am in the lung department. She don't need me around there huffing and puffing too and my GG niece just got married so she don't need an old man around her house to take care of either. It makes me want to hook up and head for the boondock country where nobody can find me. I think I'll just not keep her informed until after I get the full story and decide what I have to do about it. Until then I'm going to enjoy what freedom I have and chase cowgirls. But no catching them.

Will keep good thoughts for you, Lee... hope that next doctor appointment yields some clarity and that you will know what to do. Stay cool and dry, too!

  15. Hi all... hearing some chatter about Utah. After our Colorado family/friends visits in October, we will arrive in Moab, Utah early in November. Look forward to our third year at the Moab Folk Festival November 7, 8, 9. Will probably hang around the area for awhile, depending on the weather. So, any of you we might connect with there, just let us know :) Dianne & Tom

  16. Was a great five days with Lynn & Roger here!!! We had to work around the rain a lot, but managed to get in at least a short campfire chat each evening! Lots of catching up to do after nearly a year-and-a-half since we were last together... and I think we about covered all the bases :) Their "new home" is beautiful, and we are so grateful that they made it safely to Jackson and that the windshield replacement has been taken care of. Now they can travel on without worry. Will post some photos on our blog update around the middle of the month... thanks for visiting us, Lynn & Roger!

  17. Tina and Jeff... we are SO very sorry for your loss! Remembering some of our discussions on the subject when you were here, and realize what a tough decision you made. There are no words we can say to help, but we know that you made this decision with love. Please know that we are thinking of you and wishing you strength at this tough time. When we sit with Lynn and Roger this evening by the fire, we will all send up all good thoughts for you both! Hugs, Dianne & Tom

  18. Well, it's raining here in western Wyoming today. SO glad to have Lynn & Roger here! Sad about their windshield :( Hope that gets taken care of for them without too much hassle.

Others have had difficulties... tis life on the road. Glad you were ok after the storm, Tina & Jeff. Glad the A/C is fixed for you, Carol & Steve. Hope you get to move to a cooler area, Lee. And, keeping good thoughts for you, Linda & Ed, as you solve your difficulties. Keeping good thoughts for everyone!!!

Will be lots of chatting and sharing of adventures, and general catching up with Lynn & Roger after such a long time since we were last together. We have missed them, and it is great to reconnect and spend time together again!

Sending out our best to each of you, friends. Be well! Dianne & Tom
