  2. For our first Road Report, we just flew into Boise and will be picking up the new truck in the morning.

  4. You would probably be ok lengthwise. The big challenge would be casters heavy enough to handle the tongue weight. The other thing you may need to consider is how much of a stinger effect that will give you in a turn with the overhang of the truck bed. That design of a dolly places your pivot point at the fifth wheel on the dolley.
  5. True, though the trailer and dolly would be limited to 40 feet.
  6. I would think that it would make the Fifth Wheel a Full Trailer, like a converter dolly does for a commercial semi trailer. Seems like it would open a whole new can of worms.
  7. There is a lot to be said with the pucker factor......lol Even with the pitfalls of the close distance, it has to feel good to have gotten it done to this point. Great job!
  8. Did you have any flexing in the bottom of the ramps, when you were loading? It looks like your deck height is higher than the design height of the ramps, though your ramps look stouter than 3,000 pound ramps.

  10. They're usually not bad to replace. Works best to build up a makeshift platform to open the hood onto, then replace one bushing at a time.
  11. Larry, For what it is worth, I have a Weekend Warrior CR3905 (TH) and have a 2008 JK Wrangler. The Toyhauler handles the jeep with no problems, as long as you are aware of Gross Weight. Prior to undertaking this, I had the fortune of being able to talk to the former Lead Engineer that designed the Weekend Warrior later models and he said that most of the big name toy haulers can handle something like an average (2 Door) Wrangler, BUT, people tend to NOT take the time to get actual weights of all the items being loaded, in addition to something like a Jeep, and wind up overloading the trailer through a whole lot of guessing. I have been hauling my TH with a F-350 Ford Super Duty 4x4 Dually Crew Cab and have a lot of experience owning and driving Class 8 trucks. Even though the F-350 still meets the criteria to handle the TH, on paper, I can tell you that I am in the process of selling the F-350 and buying something that will be total overkill for the job. If you are going to be doing much in the way of off pavement driving and go for a Class 8 truck, I would recommend keeping the truck tandem and dualed out, as well as installing the widest practical steer tires.
