Sooooo…..
I have not read every word of this thread, but it appears you are the only who is suggesting your sisters are whores, can you help me out here?
Cute. Nice try. You said: "So you are intolerant of his perceived intolerance? "
No, I'm not intolerant of his opinion, I'm intolerant of his silly Cali bigotry.

Yes, I'm intolerant of his Cali bigotry. And I would be even more so, if he claimed my sisters, that live in California, were whores. And your point is?

But thankfully I never had to get out of the truck, so no Cali stuck to my shoes.😲
You traveled into California for the first time, and didn't get any Cali stuck to your shoes?
I grew up in California and all of my relatives still live there. My father worked for the USPS and my mother raised me and my 5 brothers and sisters. Perhaps you haven't heard that most people no longer think it's cool to be a bigot. Grow up.
bigotry: prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.

Voting within the chapters may not be the perfect arrangement but doesn't that give the membership a larger voice than members of the Escapees or Good Sam?
Some people feel better, when they have the power to vote. Even if their vote has no impact.
Making changes in a large organization, from the bottom up, usually requires tremendous personal effort by many. Compromising, lobbying and buy-in, with many others.
For me, member voting is not a salient difference between the RV clubs mentioned. However I respect that others may have a different opinion.

I think our next door neighbors had a pair of flamingos next to their front porch, when I was growing up in the fifties. One of the boys, who was older than me, showed me one of his father's Playboy magazine for my first time. I think I was still in elementary school.
Who knew? Not me, then or now (until your post).

Thanks.
There are so many ways it could have turned out worse for you and your wife. I'm glad it didn't.

rynosback,
If you haven't already used it, here's a site that can be helpful in deciding on type and price range.
In addition to the vast inventory, it's very easy to narrow down your search by providing search parameters that are important to you. Like price range, day-cab or sleeper, year manufactured range, number of rear axles, brand ...

I googled: pdf 2006 Volvo 780 electrical schematic
and received this as the first link:
Like most Volvo service manuals, it doesn't indicate clearly which years it covers.
Good luck!

It must have been frustrating to watch it come down and realize there was nothing you could do until it was over. On the bright side, I presume your cars were garaged. 🙂

Enough!!! As an experienced senior, I'm disappointed in your attitude. Color me hurt and unwanted. I'm LEAVING!!!!
Just kidding. I agree with your post on the polite and helpful dimension. And, IMO, there are other dimensions that are contributing to our decline. More competition, photo size restrictions, ease of posting photos, ineffective and stale advertisements, and cell phone access.

I don't know the answer to whether they cater to South Dakota residents, but I do know there's a section in their policy that addresses full timing.
I called the phone number, you provided above, and happened to get Grace. We had a delightful short conversation in which I mentioned your complementary post about her. She was pleased.
As for South Dakota, yes, they do provide coverage in SD. 🙂
Thanks!

As another retired from the field, I'm always amazed by the "experts" who give electrical advice on forums. 😉
Alas, that challenge isn't unique to electrical advice. 😏

Congratulations! And many thanks for sharing the potential value of an insurance industry insider as an advocate.
Do you know if the Lazy Days Insurance Agency also caters to those with a South Dakota residency? (not asking for you to call them about this if you don't already know)

Linda,
I agree with your sentiment about serving. And applaud it. But ignoring traveling cost, for someone 1300 miles away, is not reasonable. An obvious middle ground is to defer required service. Something like you must make yourself available for SD jury service, within the next 12 months.
BTW, I have served, as a member of a Federal jury.
We're both a bit off topic. The subject is about South Dakota jury duty.

Mike provides some great information, often with a bit more detail than I need. But his main message on this is not a "detail".
Thanks John !

SD Domicile And Jury Duty
Speak with your PMB provider first. They will tell you exactly what to say, which is very different from what you might be inclined to say based on some of the other comments on this board.
Thank you!

WoW! Just installed it. Amazed (and happy) to see "Big Rig Friendly Campgrounds" as a section 🙂

If you re-read my initial post you will see I suggested maybe including something like this in the resource guide.
Great, we agree. Please consider working with Mark to incorporate it into the Resource Guide rather pinning to the heading page.

I am going to start a thread on hard to find parts and services in hopes it will generate enough interest to act as a guide for HDTers.
I applaud the thought!
But I'd prefer that you take advantage of Mark's website (IMO, a hero in the transition to HDTs for RVers).

I'm fairly sure there was no camera in the cop car pointing at the driver and passenger. And I doubt that was the actual cop shown there.
Linda,
Based on what?
I took the time to go back and study the YouTube content a bit and found the following facts:
Much of the footage has a real-time date-stamp at the top-right corner of the screen. The 1st line appears to be a time-stamp and the second identifies the camera that was capturing the video ("AXON BODY 2 X81490009"). AXON's home page (www.axon.com) says "Public safety technology, training and software for a safer world".
I googled "Deputy Babb 2022 news". The first hit was a San Antonio Express-News article. Its conclusion included: "Schott also says the dog scratched his truck. Bexar County offered almost $7,300 to cover the damage, an amount he accepted, the suit says.". Joel Babb is no longer a police officer.P.S. Wasn't able to find a way to attach a photo of Deputy Babb, so will do it in a separate post.

IMO, yes. You were just more succinct than I was 🙂

I in fact enjoy seeing the number of hours and number of attempts people are wasting to get that special shot on video to show off.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. They are not trying to "show off". The video I linked to is part of a sustained effort to stop our government from illegally seizing private assets to enrich themselves.
Here's another link, in which $87,000 in cash is illegally seized:
