From the coastline to the heart of the interior, experience the magic only Alaska can offer on this spectacular 7-days-by-sea and 5-days-by-land, as it delivers all the must-see sights by ship, train and multi-night land tours. 

There will also be socials for the HOP attendees during the days at sea. 

Alaska is a part of the world where Mother Nature has been left in her natural state and wildlife remains abundant. You may even catch a glimpse of whales breaching the water! 

Fly into Vancouver, British Columbia and set sail onboard the luxurious comfort of Royal Caribbean’s ship, Radiance of the Seas.  

Once onboard the ship, activities, entertainment and incredible food will be provided. 

The ship offers a wide array of port excursions to fit your lifestyle. Tours are the best way to enjoy the magnificent sights in each port-of-call as well as the culture and warm embrace of the local people.  

Alaska has some of the world’s most spectacular glaciers in the world. These glaciers often drop vast chunks of ice into the sea. This process is called calving and can sound like a massive clap of thunder! Catching a glacier while it calves makes for some incredible pictures! 

During the land portion of this HOP, you’ll witness lush rainforests, towering mountains and salmon making their way upstream in the clear river streams, with bears and moose roaming freely in their natural habitat. 

You’ll be looking for Alaska’s “big five,” the caribou, moose, bear, grey wolves and Dall Sheep. 

Step on the Wilderness Express, and ride in the glass-domed train car to Fairbanks; overnighting in Fairbanks.

The land tour guide will give you an inside perspective on the scenery, point out natural wonders and explain the history and culture in Alaska on the five-day land portion of the HOP. 

 

Any optional activities that our land tour guide suggests are not included in the prices, but you can pay on-site and attend these optional activities.

Monday 27 May 2024	Denali, Alaska	Tundra Wilderness Tour in Denali National Park. Board the train, Wilderness Express® and ride in the glass-domed train cars to Fairbanks. While onboard, dine in the bistro-style dining room. Enjoy the evening in Fairbanks on your own.
Tuesday 28 May 2024	Fairbanks, Alaska	After breakfast, enjoy a fun-filled day on a Fairbanks City Tour. Cruise down the Chena River on the Riverboat Discovery Sternwheeler. Afternoon free to explore on your own.
Wed. 29 May 2024	Fairbanks, Alaska	The Tour Guide will see that you are successfully transferred to the Fairbanks airport for your flight home. *All tours and activities are included, as described, in your Cruise-tour, other than the optional activities.

The rates are only guaranteed if space is available in our blocked cabin space. After the ship recalls cabins or we sell all we have reserved, prices will go up at that time. 

After Covid lifted, we’ve seen cabins selling out quicker than expected. The HOPs sell out very quickly, so it’s critical to book early, even though this cruise is not until next year, it will sell out! Please reserve your cabin now.

We have secured early dining for the Escapees HOP group.

There will be socials on several sea days. Once the date, time and room are scheduled, you will be notified via email. 

Transfers when flying in

The ship offers transfers from the airport to the cruise terminal for a fee. If you would like this transfer, please let us know when you register and we will be glad to help you.  

Note: When flying in/out, Escapees Travel Agency must have your flight information, such as times, dates and flight numbers, so that we can forward that information to the transfer lines. Please email this information to eta@escapees.com.

·         Book your flight independently, as this will save you money.  

·         You may consider flying into Vancouver before May 17, 2024, to help eliminate stress in delays or cancellations via air travel.     

·         If you arrive early, you can book your hotel, but you will need to check if the hotel can take you to the pier, or you may take alternate transportation to the ship.

·         The ship sails at 4:00 p.m. You must check-in and be on board the ship no later than 2:30 p.m.

 

·         If you plan to stay in Fairbanks after May 29th, you can book your hotel, but you will need to check if the hotel can take you to the pier, or you may take alternate transportation to the ship. 

·         When you register for this HOP, you will receive a receipt that has a link to click on for more essential information needed for your visit.  

 

Passports

You will need your passports for this cruise. 

Please have your passports current. The travel industry is warning us that it can take up to three months to renew or apply for your passport. Even if there are six months left on your passport, you may be denied entry into a country. 

Disclosures

The HOP Department strives to provide an exceptional and memorable experience; Alaskan wildlife encounters are not a 100% guaranteed.

However, we will be traveling at peak times, going out for activities and staying several nights on land to optimize our chances of success. Not having an encounter is an extremely rare occurrence. 

Occasionally days and times of tour activities can vary depending on circumstances with the weather, traffic, length of tours and our vendors.

Trip cancellation and interruption Insurance

We highly suggest you protect your financial investment on this HOP by purchasing trip insurance.  

If you or a family member has a pre-existing medical condition, consider purchasing trip cancellation or trip interruption insurance. Insurance can also help with covering unexpected illnesses or emergencies while on the trip.
