Yeh Larry... it was a downpour allright !!!!! Several underpasses were flooded ....and the traffic acted like you described ...like it was nothing ...only two wrecks observed while passing through ..... Hope you and LaVila will stop by on your way through Meridian ....If not I'll see you in Retama next year ....Jim

I made it back from Retama yesterday afternoon ...thought I was gonna need SCUBA gear to get through Houston !!!! Saw two bad wrecks one happened just before I got to that location and it involved a tractor bobtailing and two cars...most all the vehicles were going two fast for the conditions ... But i guess thats just life in the big city ....another strange thing was that the first accident was being worked by a Motorcycle officer... and it was pouring down rain !!!!!! The rain finnally let up around Lake Charles and just had sprinkles after that ....Well back to the grind .. ...Jim

blt ..most of us live in the 8mpg range ....some get better some a little lower .....But there is lots of pulling and stopping power with these rigs ....plus they are very smooth and quite in the ride .....good luck with your venture and welcome to the board ....Jim

I finally made it to Retama yesterday about 6pm ...Had the crew come over set up chairs and give moral support to backin in and settin up !!!!!! Its the cat calls that distract you !!! Anyway uneventful trip ...just like I like !!! Although Dallas,Austin,and San Antonio downtown traffic in one day ..requires a large goose and juice ...to calm the nerves ....1053 miles ..two days...now i know i'm slackin a little but didn't want to over do.....LOL I found I developed a pin hole water leak in the ice maker line...that soaked the rugs ..so got to get all that fixed and cleaned up...Oh well beats any day at the office !!!! LOL ...waitin on happy hour .....LOL..Jim

I'm leaving Branson this morning enroute to Retama....Hazel left yesterday for Meridian ...I should arrive Friday afternoon or Saturday ...I'm haulin Trash with me ...so I'll have a full load !!!! See Ya'll soon barring no problems !!!!! Jim

Dam Jack ....You talked me into the 2-2-2 traveling and then you spoil it ...!!!! ....I hope we weren't a bad influence !!!...I left Hutch and made 200 hundred miles..pulled into a RV park on a lake had a couple Goose and Juices and let Trash out...and after a great mini stay ...left for Branson to await the Queen Bee ..Be here at the ABC for a week then to Mission .....Had a great time at the Rally ...see ya'll again soon .....Jim

We got back from Moab,Mesa Verde,and Mission, this afternoon ...3865 miles ..truck ran great ...the FJ towed great and we had a super time on the trails in Moab ..and the sights in Mesa Verde were really awesome ...made ya think how it would be to live in the side of a cliff with none of our conviences ...NOT !!!..Thanks again to Jack for recommending the RV Campground and trails in Moab..they were super...while in Mission we walked around all the HDTers' lots and all looked OK ...Gail your cover is on and in place on the vehicle and the garbage can can't move !!!Tell Bonnie that the flowers are still alive ..I watered and fed them ...thanks... Mark the screens are dusty from all the wind but everything else looks ok ...on the southside ..Mike,Mark,and Jack ..everything looks find ...Hazel and I got to visit with Larry and Linda while there but I think they are leaveing Retama soon for the summer ..have a great trip !!...any way Retama looked really good ..a lot of the things that were under construction are finished ...a lot of fencing on the Phase 2 side is done and the club house and pool area look great ...as usual there were some crazy drivers on the slab ..but I didn't tie up with one thank goodness ..Well tomorrow its back to the salt mine ...need to get things in order for the next trip .....Jim

Mark ..Please comment on the Jayco facility and there attitude toward our Travel Supreme's and any policy on repair to our RV's..Thanks..And I'll bet the new paint on Red Rover looks great !!!!Jim

We arrived in Moab Yesterday about 3pm ....Just watching the sun come over the mountains now ...beautiful ....plan on being here till the 15th ...then down to Mission for a few days ....well got to go play in the rocks ....Jim
