  1. Yeah, Lee, it's 713 Douglas Ave. Bring your bib!
  2. We went to Zinc a couple of years ago when we spent a month in Albuquerque. Nice place, I don't remember the occasion, but I remember it was good. Charlie Daniels Band is here at the casino tonight, should be a hot time in the old town.
  3. IYQ, the restaurant I was trying to think of in Las Vegas is "Charlies". It's a bakery and mexican place and the food is really good. Check it out if you get a chance. Steve
  4. Nice day here yesterday. It was 72 and no wind, so I went fishing There is a little creek right behind the RV's, and I've caught fish there before, so I decided to try again. I wound up catching 5 largmouth bass in about an hour. Largest one was just shy of 5lbs sure suprised the heck out of me. The others were in the 2 to three pound range and one was all over that creek. One guy came back there and thought I had fallen in the creek. Jim, I used a black plastic salamander with a chartruse tail, salt inpregnated. Think I'll try again today, I threw them all back, so maybe I can catch them again. My Kingdome cratered! I think water got in it and fried the circuit board or something like that. It's been working fine for a year now, but I think it's ready for replacement. I know a few of you have gone with the Winegard Traveler, and I think that's what I'm going to get. I have Direct tv, and with the traveler I can get my HD channels again, plus record one channel while watching another. The only time we use the in motion sat is when we are traveling and want to record something during the day (Judge Judy), and watch it in the evening. From what I've read, the Traveler gets better reception, or more chance of reception in trees also with it's larger "dish". The same dealer that replaced our refrigerater is a dealer for Winegard, so I'm waiting on his call to see when he can get me in. Oh well, must go fishing. Bye Steve
  5. WOW! CONGRATULATIONS!! DON'T IT FEEL GREAT!! Yeah, Mike, you can pay with cash as long as you have the proper paperwork, certificate from your mama, credit check, sacrifice your first born etc: It's going to take a while to get everyone's fingers and toes, uncrossed. Then we have to peel the silly grin off our faces. Oh well, feels great. Steve
  6. We stayed at Storrie Lake a couple years ago. Don't count on haveing a very good cell phone signal. Maybe with your booster you'll be ok, but I was on tech support for my motosat while i was there and keep loosing the phone signal. Nice little town and we were the only campers there. Hope the snow goes away. Steve
  7. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and crossed fingers & toes We are still in shock, and can't believe it really happened. Now that the "anchor" has been "raised", the boat will start to drift!! We will be hanging around here until our daughter leaves for Australia June 20th, and after that head northward seeking adventure (and Carol's family reunion), in Milwaukee. Now I've got to get busy and service BessyBus, change toads, mutter mutter many things mutter mutter!! Thanks again, Steve & Carol PS: Coldsmoke, we'll keep our fingers crossed for you guys too. Can't seem to get them untangled anyway
  8. You guys can whine all you want to, but we won't listen! because: SPECIAL BULLETIN! HOUSE SOLD, I REPEAT HOUSE SOLD! we closed at 10:00 this morning and are toasting now, TOAST,TOAST,TOAST DID I SAY TOAST. WOO! HOO!
  9. h4 fw54t89 8-n0jn5y3n4999r. Hmmmm had the fingers on the wrong part of the keyboard! What I said was, be careful up on the roof, Dave Looks like Joe opened the rain door and let some of it escape. The floodgates opened during the night, and it has rained (thunderstorms) all day today. Looks like we're not through yet. It's plenty dry around here, so we are glad to get it, but it sure made a mess of a lot of Easter plans. I think I see colored eggs floating down the street right now. A couple of orange ones that must have come from Washington I think. I had a window drain plugged, (must have been all that desert dust) and the water was running down the wall. I caught it early and pulled the slide in, but the carpet was pretty wet. Have had a fan on it all day and it is finally getting dry. Happy Easter everyone. Steve
  10. Yes, the casino has a shelter almost in front of us. I think it has a slot machine in it! I guess that gives you something to hold on to while riding out the storm. Steve
  11. Yeah, we've been getting a little weather. Just had some t-storms fire up near the casino a while ago. Had a tornado warning for a while, but everything calmed down now. All we got here was a little rain, and we need that, so it was ok. We are supposed to get severe weather on Sunday, so we'll just have to keep an eye out. The esatern half of Oklahoma has had some rain, but nothing out west, so all the rain dancers are getting fired up Dennis Miller is at the casino tomorrow night, so this place will probably be hopping. They have an outdoor band area now, so we can just open the windows and listen. Steve
  12. Mike & Deb, sure glad to hear from you guys again. We are still here in Oklahoma selling our house (damn house), but if that happens next week, which we have a new closing date of April 29th, we will be heading north to Wisconsin sometime the end of June. Then we will be heading for Seattle for our nephew's wedding on Aug 20. So it looks like we will be in the north central or northwest part of the country until it starts to get cold, then head south. Love to meet you guys along the way somewhere. Steve
  13. Hey, Lee, I thought I could detect a little of that vanishing cream. We stayed pretty close to where you are a couple of years ago at Story Lake. There is a pretty good mexican resturant in Las Vegas in the old part of town. I can't remember the name, but one of the things they served was "cheeze tacos". The tacos themselves were made out of cheeze and stuffed with the regular stuff. I had never seen that done before. Place had seen better days, but it was clean and the food was good. I need to loan you my motosat so you can stay in contact with the rest of the world. Steve PS: the house closing has been put off another 4 days, so it will be Friday the 29th at 10:00am. I think I'll just park the bus across from the closing place and have them knock on the door when they're ready
  14. About a year ago I got a PM from Jay, (an escapee) who was traveling through Oklahoma and said he wanted to meet us. Well we tried to connect, but it didn't work out. Fast foreward one year. Here we are at the casino, and I got a PM from the same person. He was south of Shawnee coming to OKC, and wanted to know where we were. I managed to get in touch with him before he got to the casino and had him stop and see us. Jay was driving a earth-roamer expedition vehicle, and it was really neat setup. It was based on a Ford F-550 chassis, and was equipped with 4 wheel drive and winches on the front and rear. It had a large solar array, and the rest of the unit was powered by diesel, ie: stove, furnace and water heater. You could camp anywhere you wanted to with that rig. It even had a king sized bed! We had a nice visit and lunch at the casino. If you see a gray Ford earthroamer, in your travels, say hey to Jay!! He'll be the one camping out waaaay up on the mountain Buy the way, we have a new house closing date, so now we can hold our breath again until Monday April 25th. this is sooo much fun!
  15. Jim & Sandie, glad to see you guys back posting again. Jim, I do have a "can opener" I'd lend you so you can get in and out of your bus!! I don't know if I could climb back into mine if that happened to me. I'd have to sleep under a tree or something. Have a nice dinner with J & T. Steve
  16. Ok, John & Diane, now you have to practice saying "ya'll" Lee, you could put on rubber gloves and just dump them out when full
  17. Wow, Sue, what a mess. Sure glad they worked with you guys to get a new unit. At least with Paul's background he was able to notice what was going on and get it looked at before it fell apart on the road! Sounds like you got it worked out to your satisfaction. Can't wait to see pictures. That's a rough time to have to go through on the road "in your home". Steve
  18. We had a stormy day in Oklahoma yesterday, and the wind hasn't gone away yet! The storm line formed up right over us and we got a little hail, rain and a lot of wind. Had a few tornados too, but not around here. Sure looked like tornado weather. I pulled in the slides just before the hail hit, but we didn't get very big stuff this time. I just finished putting a roof on the house, so I don't want any of this hail stuff around here Speaking of that,(house), no closing yet, but we're still hanging in there. Banks are sure taking their time getting everything processed. Looks like the end of the month now. The casino is really crowded this week. All the RV spots are full and they are still coming in. Looks like it's going to be a "hot time in the old casino" this weekend. Now if the wind would just quit for a while. Lee, you've got me confused now. You said you were sitting on the lee side of the trailer. I thought you owned the whole thing??? Steve
  19. Ok, I heard your story about the lock, how did you convince the nice policeman that you're not just climbing into the motorhome to steal a dog??? Sounds like a nightmare to me. How did you manage to get to the ground out that window without breaking a leg. Or for that matter how did you manage to climb back in?? Inquiring minds want to know..... Steve
  20. Freddy, we're sending hugs for Delcie too! Hope she gets better soon. She'll have to if you expect her to run from the fires!! We're keeping an eye out for fires here too. Way too dry and windy. This wind is supposed to stop on Tuesday, so I hope the forcasters get it right this time. Steve
  21. Well we chased this Oklahoma wind, put it in a round corral, and now it thinks it wants to be a tornado. Go figure! Now we have tornado watches today. I watched for a lot of them, but never could figure out what you were supposed to do with one if you found it?? Last one I found chased me into a hole in the ground 87 degrees today and it looks like it could get a little stormy. I think the roofers just finished a while ago,so I'd better go look at it before another hail storm comes in. Way too exciting around here for me. Steve
  22. Yes, the wind seems to be all over the place. I just saw a dog blow by the window, I think Looks like we won't close on the house Friday. Seems the appraiser didn't get her report in on time. Waiting to see what the new date will be. We found a RV park in Seminole, OK that is near where Carol likes to play tennis, so we are going to check it out today. They had a monthly rate of $335 w FHU's so that sounded pretty good. Now if you just don't need a weapon to be able to live there. We have to go by the old house today to see how the roofers are doing. They found 4 layers on the old part of the house, so the insurance company is going to kick in a little more for the tear-off on that part. They are supposed to finish tomorrow, but they sure are having to fight the wind. At least with the closing not being on Friday it gives them a little more time to get-er-done! I went into the casino to "pay my rent" and turned my $20 payment into $50, so that was good! Have a nice windy day. Steve
  23. BessyBus is about 15 miles from there and if the nails get this far we had better all duck!
