No and don’t let the little ranger guy in the booth tell you you can

Nationwide also does full timers policy along with HDT insurance

While walking pups, no. Only people, sure, quietly. No pups because they can leave wet spots at a moments notice, plus the empty site may have leftovers on the ground we don’t want them to get at.
Depending on the layout, we often set quasi barriers in our own site to keep out short cutters. Our heads sleep in a slide and in the past, short cutters have woken us up by walking into the slide.

We don’t drive through sites that are not not occupied. If we are walking we might go through one but not often. Never in a hurry driving through camp. Have seen some people Who take a short cut and speed through and kick up gravel and dust. Everybody has different thoughts about it

Haven’t seen him on since we got out truck. Thanks for all the help on it.

Not going to make it this year staying in Michigan and Wisconsin. Definitely going to miss the riding the week after. Got your zingers packed Chad?

We paid for our first ever in our life extended warranty on our new New Horizon. We knew it would pay for itself. Warranty was just over 3000 and the tire and wheel warranty was 750 ish both were good until the trailer is 7 years old. No deductible. Also the tire and wheel was for trailer and truck(hdt). Had a tire on trailer replaced and that more than half paid for the warranty. We had a bidfoot leveling jack that had a retainer ring break and the paid to have it replaced. It could have been fixed with a new ring but paid 1000$ to have a shop replace the whole thing. We have had good experiences with the warranty company and approved and payed the same day to the service center. The only bad thing is that they won’t pay for the part and let you fix it yourself. The jack could have been fixed with a ten dollar part. The company name is Compass. You have to figure if the warranty price seems worth it for the trailer and how you will use it. If full time then it makes more sense than if you just use on weekends.

Try it without the shade for a while. We bought one and have only used it a couple times in the 2 years we’ve had it. We never leave our awning out when we leave so we’d be unzipping it off and on a lot. They do help with the sun but we are wondering if we should have bought. Good luck with the search.

We’d pass on that

An occasional snide comment is unlikely to be a significant factor in the declining rate of new folks visiting these forums.
These forums are widely recognized as the best place to go, for solid knowledge and advice about RVing. This especially applies to our HDT forum, which is by far, our most popular. And it has been for many years. I joined Escapees primarily for the forums. I was hungry for RVer knowledge.
IMO, there are three primary causes for our slow decline.
The first is that there is a lot more competition for RVer eye balls.
The second is this website looks like it was created more than a decade ago. And functions like posting a photo, or printing a thread, with a lot of useful facts, are user hostile. The ads are virtually useless (and I suspect generate a trivial amount of revenue).
The third, and perhaps the most important, is that the Escapees company doesn't seem to care about these forums. Who is responsible for marketing and improving them? If no one has that as a prime responsibility, then there shouldn't be any surprise about their decline.

With comments like this one, is it any wonder that we no longer attract the younger Escapees or other part-time working folks? That isn't exactly welcoming to them.
I don’t know how much you have seen in the last few years but the weekend warrior comment was right on. “A lot” of the weekend people we see seem like they are racing to get the last camp site. Then gone on Sunday before 8. I know we were all there before but, todays campers (people) are not the same as when I grew up camping there, is a difference now.

Have you had any updates on your truck?

Sorry sky king didn’t mean to make it look like I edited your quote. My finger hit something and the last reply didn’t go where it should.

Good idea get a look at plumbing and drain lines. Have your wife turn on facets and fill a sink and let to drain and check for a leak or drip that wouldn’t be seen by one person looking at it. Definitely get on the roof and check all caulking. Good luck

Yep…I’m calling two local NRVIA inspectors today. I actually saw a series of videos from RV Masters late yesterday where in one, the g'uy says the big box stores may not even work on an RV because it wasn’t purchased there! I know when you take a car to the dealership they’ll service it…for a price. What happens on the road if you have to get service and you didn’t buy it there? Sits for weeks? Months?
At this point I think we have decided to “rent“ the RV for a couple of days…maybe this week and see what we think. That way I can go over the RV top to bottom while we’re at the campground and make a list of questions for the inspector.I found all the manuals online even though from those videos I now know the wiring and components can be completely different.

I would stay away from camping world for an inspection

We do it every time we hitch up. Look at jaws and pin behind the jaw block to make sure it’s in place. Then do the test with landing jacks about an inch off the ground. Then we check lights. Only time in 3 years we didn’t was after leaving the dealer for a computer Update. The guy left the brake controller unplugged when he plugged his computer in. We didn’t do the tug test because we had did it a few hours before and didn’t unhitch. Left the dealer and started down the highway in afternoon traffic with no brakes on the trailer. Check then EVERY time now.

We are registered in South Dakota and as long as you have 5 out of the 7 things in the sleeper that is required you can convert the title to rv or motorhome. We filled out the registration paper and the convert title paper and mailed it in with the title and a picture of the truck. Found everything on the South Dakota department of revenue site. We are domiciled in South Dakota but the truck has never been there, did it all through mail and phone.

Sounds fair to me.

We do like chad said, we turn off the water pump whenever we leave during the day. We also only turn on gas water heater in the morning before showers then turn it off to save propane.

Some of us are remembering the old saying. If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything

We stayed at the Hayspur fish hatchery on our way to the wcr the last 2 years. We’re 73 long and it’s a wide open place with a water fill place. Donation box there. Last 2 years the weekend before the rally was no license weekend for fishing.
