Cory, use the "Other Media" button to add the url for the picture you're posting. We can help if needed. JaywRocpjd.jpg

    Jay,

Thanks so much! I have more pictures to add today. In the latest pictures, as of this morning, Jack has my axel repositioned the frame, will post more this evening.

  2. Howdy all, my truck os officially in the Fabrication shop at RVH Lifestyles with Jack Mayer and his crew now. Jack is singling it and putting the sport utlity bed on it cor the first part of modifications. He sent me pictures and it should show up on the facebook group HDT's for RVing. I told him to use my name and also my escapes screen name, but when you see the orange Volvo 780 it is mine! I am excited beyond words.

We are now on summer vacation too, here in Vegas, no teaching again until August 2nd. Lots of work to prepare for the upcoming school year but no kids, bells, parent phone calls, emails to write or phone calls to make. The "D.W." went out for sushi, then went to the Golden Tiki Lounge, 99 cent only store, and then to C-A-L Ranch and last but not least a stop at Tractor Supply. It was a great day!

Happy summer to all and especially and fellow educators or bus drivers.

  3. I have 5 years to go and I can't wait!!!! I am looking forward to dropping my keys on my desk, signing that last piece of paper and walking out the doors a free person!

My wife has retired and loves it. The only down side is as teachers we get 75% of the average of our last 3 years so it is a little bit of a pay cut.

Ire ognized it sitting on their lot the last weekend of April when I was there.  I got a tour of the facility from Jack.  They have a very nice set up there.

Jack is awesome. When you were there you were only 45 minutes from my home town. Did you see any signs with Pittsburg Kansas on them?

I think Jack is one of the most friendly people I have done business with in a very long time. He worked with me for 2 years prior to me dropping off my truck last summer and has been a great person to work with since I have dropped my truck off. When you were there did you see my truck? It was the orange one with the Vegas plate on the front of it.

How are your truck and trailer doing? I know you went through a lot last year and are more than likely on the other side of it now. I hope all is good for you!

Well if you make it to Vegas some time let me know, we need to make a trip to Big Dogs again, they have a new "Tap Room" there now and the selection of beer is very good.

  5. One of the great things about your post it the reminding everybody is that we get into habits and forget to perform simple inspections all around the trailer and truck. Messages like this remind us not to get in a hurry, to pull out that old check list and go over it a little more slowly.

Thanks for the great information. It is also great to see somebody who is humble enough to post stuff like this.

It's likely too late for the tulip festival west of Mount Vernon.  That one is typically in mid-April.

As Linds mentioned, there's also a tulip festival in Holland, MI.  It comes later than the one in Washington, because spring comes to southern Michigan later than it does in western Washington.

Holland is the correct city, she is from Big Rapids.

  7. Would Simple Green Work for that, also there are a lot of high end detailing sprays and spray bottles you hook up to a garden hose then they foam up unbelievably and break down dirt and grease. I know they are used a lot on wheels to get rid of excess from brakes.

I just looked up the Chemical Guys Website here in Las Vegas, even if you don't live in Vegas they could probably recommend or  tell you what to use. Their specialty is auto detailing.

Also do you have a Blue Beacon Truck Wash near you? I take my semi there and they do an excellent job of getting all of the dirt and grime off of it. I know if you pull in with your RV hooked up to your Volvo they will wash it, I have even been in line behind Giant motor coaches too and they have cleaned them too.

  8. My "D.W." wants to do a road trip too. I think she is going to fly home to Michigan and leave me behind to finish the school year in Vegas. Something about a Tulip Festival in Southern Michigan or Northern Iowa????? Pella Iowa??????
