  1. Doug & Toni, if you're serious I can try and walk you thru it. Not too hard once you know the right steps and what to paste into your sig!
  2. Jeri, Hadn't stepped on a scale since visiting the doc a year ago but knew that something was up/down because had to keep cinching the belt tighter. We don't eat out much. Lynn eats like a bird (doc told her to quit losing weight) and I quit letting her push her leftovers onto my plate. The main thing I think is that I'm no longer stuck in a "cubicell" for nine hours a day and instead up walking around...not as much as Tom does! But now that I'm over my bout with plantar fasciitis I can walk without pain. Now to go out and buy some new belts!
  3. Thanks Dave & Diane, Never thought of that...I can see that you're "glass half full" thinkers...good! I like your signature ticker. would like to add one to mine. Went to the web site but was confused about how to do it. It offered three types of codes to paste into my signature. Didn't seem to work for me. Any suggestions on what I need to do?
  4. Toni, I think that you'd look great in red! This is why Lynn has taken over laundry duty and I go grocery shopping!
  5. No problem guys...would you like it shipped overnight?! Roger
  6. Have had a great time visiting with our daughters and friends these past weeks. Had to put our youngest on the Amtrak yesterday and I nearly ended up going back to Denver with her. Was helping with getting her bags on board when the train started to take off. Barely made it off board when it started moving. I've never rode a train so, didn't realize that they mean business with keeping on schedule. Probably would've thrown me off like a hobo at next stop in Ottumwa! Getting check ups and my doc was amazed that I've lost 32 lbs since embarking full time. Cholesterol and other levels nearly cut in half...apparently, this full time thing is healthy for ya! Now it's time to work on getting rid of that storage unit. Auctioneer won't take our new mattress. Will see if Disabled Vets Org. wants it. Anybody want a queen size for their rig?! Roger
  7. The COE parks are some of the best in the Midwest...many with great views of the Mississippi. Brought my fishin' gear with us too but haven't gotten out due to high out of state fees. Where do I get this ol' fart's license!
  8. Diane, On the 15-16 we will be staying at Sugar Bottom COE near North Liberty, IA. Managed to reserve a site there after being told that they closed the Coralville Dam COE due to flooding. It's a bit of a drive away from I-80 but if you get a chance stop by! Of course, you can check our pin location...that thing is great. Roger & Lynn
  9. Diane, are you planning on spending a few in the QC's? We're at Fisherman's Corner COE near Hampton, IL. We'll be here till June 2nd and then moving next door to Illiniwek county park for a bit. It would be great to see you and Glyn! Just got a robo call from the COE cancelling our reservations at Iowa City park. They've closed the CG due to flooding at the dam. We have more doc appointments there so, I've gotta now scramble and find a roost somewhere else nearby...stop it...enough rain already! Roger
  10. Certainly drier but certainly warmer! We're still laughing about those keys...now if we can only find that 10" skillet lid that disappeared somewhere in the rig!
  11. Solved the mystery of my lost truck keys the other day (cost $200) that came up missing when we were with some of the Q gang in Denver last month. My daughter was headed to an overnight camp out and Lynn thought she could take her seldom used vest jacket. Kris tried it on and discovered a set of keys in the pocket. Knew those keys had to be near or in the Rooster. Turned the RV and truck inside out searching. Had a feeling that Lynn thought I was slipping a bit and kept reminding me about hanging the keys up each time I wasn't using them. Apparently, she'd used them, left them in her pocket and me being the neat freak that I am hung the vest in the closet before she could retrieve them. At least I'm off the "watch list" for senility for that one and we have a third set of keys! Wish that someone would turn off the water works here in the Quad Cities...they sure don't need it with all the flooding. Last year they couldn't float a barge on the ol' Mississippi. Lynn's ready to head back to Q and sun for mood therapy! Roger
  12. Lee, You did the right thing by staying out of your rig till the gas level subsided. Not sure of the properties of propane but with natural gas there's a second chance for an explosion as the gas level lowers (during air out) and drops back to a mixture with the air that can ignite. Most people think that they're safe after opening windows but the gas/mixture conditions can become ripe to explode a second time. Shutting down any source of ignition like a gas fridge would also be prudent.
  13. 2:30 and awake at Lincoln NE Walmart...can't sleep from street sweeper. May as well get up put coffee on and head out after this. Maybe I'll have Rooster set up in new home by 9:00 a.m.? Beat the rush hour traffic anyway. Anybody pull a trailer with the wife still sleeping in the back?! Lee, glad to hear that you'll be up a running soon too! Roger
  14. Spent yesterday saying our goodbyes and as soon as the sun rises a bit we'll soon do battle with those poor slobs on their way to work in Denver...Lee, I'm definitely gonna watch those ramps! Steve, that's an interesting itinerary...might follow some of that route when we head that way end of June. One of our first stops will be to at the Airstream factory in Ohio for a wheel pack, tour and a little repair work on our rear roof. Apparently, 9'7" is still a little too tall to fit under a covered picnic table...oops. Happened back in AZ. DW was spotting the back-in for the electric post and both of us didn't notice that the ramada had moved forward. It appeared that this bugger had "hit" other rigs several times. $3700 lesson learned for us! Didn't turn it in to insurance as we didn't want to add another claim after our incident last Summer in OR. Other RV swiped our rig ($13K worth) but because cop didn't write ticket the insurance companies determined no fault for him...witnesses said otherwise. Gotta go...850 miles in next two daze!
  15. Hope so...looking forward to meeting you and others from the "Classless Clan" soon. Heading out of Denver area tomorrow for a 850 mile two day run to the old homestead in Moline, IL. Visit friends, docs and get rid of that storage facility stuff (anybody need a bed, dining table, etc.)? Our year long "trial run" is over and thanks mostly to meeting this group it's a slam dunk that this is the life for us! We're planning on heading East after that and see what we ain't seen out there. Steve, where are you headed next? Any plans for out East?!
  16. I'll keep the cranberry juice ready Steve...Better yet, bring Lee with ya...It would be hilarious to sit and listen to the two of you go at it around a campfire!
  17. I keep forgetting to open Blogger and check for new posts. Between checking Facebook, SKP forums, emails and cell texts this social media thing can keep ya hopping...good and bad of it I guess. Was also hoping for perhaps a way to receive an email notification that a new blog post has been made...kinda like this forum? Thanks for the tip Jeri...gotta go look at your blog! Roger
  18. Lee, I'm always impressed with what I learn from your posts but that's why you have a P.H.D. in full timing! This forum is great...even though we can't be there to help, you can rely on all to offer ideas and moral support. Jeff and Tina, we're glad to hear that your daughter got hitched without a hitch...(not sure that phrase makes sense)! Gonna try and figure out today how to access and organize all of these great blogs that some of you guys are putting out. Dianne, any help with that? I need to add an icon on my browser if possible? Roger
  19. OMG Lee, we are so glad that you were not hurt but upset about your predicament. We've often wondered about accidents like yours when in transit and how we'd handle it. It's not like we could go back to our stick and brick and wait for repairs. Wish that we were closer to help. Hope that you can get this resolved soon and be back on your travels. Another story for the campfire...please let us know if we can help in any way. Roger & Lynn
  20. Fortunately, Lynn carries an extra key but with my track record it's best to have another back up!
  21. We really enjoyed touching base with Tom, Dianne, Tina, Jeff, Mike and Julie and yes it's a bit lonely now here at Cherry. But, we're sure liking spending some quality time with our girls. We made good use of Jeff's firewood last evening and thanks again Tom for delivering it stacked at our site! Can't wait to see you guys again and get some more of that goooood whiskey. Hoping to take the Rooster in to a truck wash today. It's one dirty bird from all that Rocky Mountain slush we picked up crossing the Divide. Somehow I lost the keys to my truck yesterday and had to get a new one from the dealer...$205...ouch, what a rip! Tom & Dianne, your two strange neighbors are still here (I think). Haven't seen the gal with the tent and gear strewn all over since you left but her stuff is...The guy on your other side finally came out of his little pup tent yesterday and staggered to the shower house...hopefully, he took full advantage of the facility. He staggered back, climbed in and haven't seen him out since. Not too worried about him borrowing some of my stuff as he doesn't seem to have a vehicle to put it in and run. This big city camping sure is interesting! Stay safe everybody and happy trails...Roger & Lynn
  22. Love your positive attitude guys...we'll bring the firewood tomorrow! Roger
  23. Tom & Dianne, saw your picture on FB...Crikey, it snows everywhere you guys go...leary of hooking up with ya! Kidding aside, could you please shovel out our campsite before we arrive tomorrow? Are Tina & Jeff still at Cherry Creek? Roger & Lynn
  24. Our internet has been hinkey these past few days and so happy belated birthday and anniversary wishes to you guys. Dianne and Tom, glad to hear that things are clearing up for you two! Lee, thanks for clearing up that ice cream machine thing for me! We're guests of the Navajo Nation here in Chinle, Az. Moving on to Moab, UT tomorrow. No beer allowed on the reservation and Utah doesn't sell on Sunday...didn't plan this part very well! Steve, where do I get some of that Baaaaad whiskey or cranberry juice!
