  1. Sounds like a good idea Sandie. Lynn and I have thought that someday perhaps we'll do the same but, for now we like the extra room and want to keep on rollin'...that is if we ever get out of "planet of the motor homes" here in Tampa! LOL Roger
  2. Thanks Jeff. What's with not showin' the picture I put on? Guess that you have to sign in an click on the file link to view...sheeesh, a bit clunky this forum program is!
  3. The transition continues...don't know how we made everything fit in the ol' Rooster! I can look out of the Beaver and see the entire Airstream roof. Guess I'll have to start watchin' those clearances if we ever get outta here. Hdrider may get out of here before we do! Roger
  4. Jeff, Wow, bizarre...rolling tires coming at ya. Does the guy have insurance and if so, will they pay? That's scary stuff! Have you guys made it safely (other than the tire) to Texas? Safe travels buddy! Roger
  5. Lynn felt frustrated as she is used to having medical equipment around her when this happened at work. With her nursing experience she figured he may have already passed when his wife found him in bed. At least we tried for the sake of the wife.
  6. Man, it finally happened...since we've been in Florida we've had multiple times where an ambulance would show up at our campground. Yesterday afternoon I was sitting outside when I heard someone yelling for help. I ran to the rig next door to find that our neighbor's husband was lying on the floor. Thinking that he may have had a heart attack I immediately got Lynn who knows about such things. She went in and started chest compressions and we took turns doing that till the paramedics arrived. Lynn told me that he appeared to have already died before we got there but, that we had to try if only for the poor wife who was a mess as you can imagine. I was very proud of Lynn for the way she took charge and tried to console the wife after the paramedics took over. It's too bad that we couldn't have gotten to him earlier as I'm now 0-1 for all that CPR training that we got at work. But, at least we tried. The widow's children drove straight from Mississippi last night and I see that they're now here. Very sad. We're supposed to close on our motor home today but, that seems trivial. Enjoy life now because you never know. Roger
  7. Jeff, I hope you're not parked under or near the trees...loaded with ice and Spanish moss they could really do a number on your rig! Hope things start to thaw quick and you guys stay safe. Catch ya along the Gulf...should be warmer! Roger
  8. Working on an Amercan Coach Eagle...we'll see. Any sites open where you're at? Sure is booked up in this area. Finding out that you can't wander Florida this time of year like you can in AZ without payin' big $...We're so over this state!
  9. I'll parrot that Jeff. Made it to Lazy Days yesterday after driving thru an all day rain and found that my GFI panel breaker was bad. Picked up a new one at LD store and got nicked $150...ouch! Installed it and still would not set. Pulled the outside recepticle and the breaker set. I took a hair dryer to it, reinstalled and it worked. The old breaker was bad so at least I didn't "waste" the $150 as Lazy D guy said they wouldn't take it back after I bought it. Turns out that 06 Beaver that we put $1K deposit on never made it to the lot or so they say. I think that someone else beat me to it. So much for a deposit holding it. At least we're getting two free nights with meals here and will look at other rigs today before moving to Zephyr Hills. We were excited about the Beaver so, I doubt we'll find anything here to compare. Should've taken more heed of HDRider's blog about this place! Hope to run into you guys somewhere along the "Redneck Riviera"! Roger
  10. Jeri, We were saddened to hear your loss. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Roger & Lynn
  11. Haven't seen that one yet Lee! Perhaps they were space aliens that were unfamiliar with laundromat etiquette? Those long intergalactic treks can really pile up the laundry I guess!
  12. Wow, Glyn...you clean up well...no wonder I didn't recognize you at first! Good article and I learned a few new things...thanks. Employer had us take a hands on driving course right before I retired. You mention the two second that I always use...the instructor said that is old school and you need to keep a FIVE second distance. Try that sometime and see how many people honk at you after the light turns green! It was ridiculous. Roger
  13. Bummer Lee...however, I'm still looking forward to seeing you next year and getting a guided tour of the galaxy! Got my lounge chair, binocs and maybe some cranberry juice on the ready. Need a guru to help with that constellation stuff, etc. Had a fellow camper show me an app on his cell phone where you just point the phone towards a star and it identifies it. Pretty cool but I think that I'd have to get a smarter phone to load it. Glyn, what was the name of the article that you have in the SKP mag? I need some good reading today! Roger
  14. I love Lucy Steve and remember that trailer...good lesson on how not to overload your rig! Been hoping to spot some big ol' manatees...if I see 'em, I'll tell them Steeeeeeeve says hi!! Roger
  15. Thanks for the info Steve...Did they have any/many used MH's at the show for sale?
  16. For those of you planning on attending the Tampa RV Super Show... I talked to the people at the fairgrounds yesterday and was told that the only electric hook ups are for the vendors. You can boon dock for $20/night. It's on hard pavement and you can run gennies. They have a dump station and fresh water fill to use. No grills allowed. Gates open at 8:00 a.m. on the 15th. Enter at the Highway 301 entrance and let them know that you plan on spending the night/nights...they will come around later to collect the fee. It's $12 to enter at the gate for parking and if you leave and return during the show hours they will charge you again. After show hours you can get a pass to return for free. We're planning on staying there but, if the temps are gonna be hot we'll have to make other plans so that we don't fry our Willie (the dawg) while at the show. Hope to see some of you there! We're enjoying the weather and hospitality here at the Wauchula SKP and visiting with Charlie & Delores (AKA Roadhouse Charlie). Sounds like the weather out West is back to normal for you all out there. Miss you guys and will be there next season so, watch out! Roger
  17. Look forward to seeing you guys and the rest of the gang next year too Dianne! Being newbies, we had to check off the Eastern U.S. from our bucket list. We've decided that the West is best and you can count on seeing us next season. There's too many people, too expensive, too many bugs, too muggy, too many other things to mention and most of all, too far from Q and the tribe! Crossing paths with Tina & Jeff and meeting some other "Eastern Classless" couples have made it fun and I know that they feel the same about being out there and with you all. Lee, glad to hear that you're on the mend and wishing you a speedy recovery...we'll see you again but, not soon enough! Gotta go...an old buddy is here in Naples and taking me fishing in the Gulf...hope we're not "gonna need a bigger boat"! Roger
  18. Dave, Lynn was rather bummed after I got back from having some nice juice and horse duvers with you and Diane. Especially, after I told her about meeting Jack...the gal loves Goldens. Heard her coughing back in the bedroom so, I know she's alive! Really enjoyed our brief visit with you and Diane and hoping to spend more time together down the road. If you get that new rig rollin' down around Naples soon stop in and meet us and Tina and Jeff...they ain't too bad to hang with either! We'll be at Club Naples Resort...you can get the PA rate there. Roger
  19. Hey Dave & Diane, Sorry we missed you for yesterday's happy hour...walked around the "swap out" area and didn't recognize one of your rigs! Give us a call today...3 oh 9 two three oh and 6372...gonna head over for that "free" breakfast in a bit. Talk to ya later! Roger
  20. Had a good time chewin' the fat (and rattlesnake) with you guys, Charley and Delores! Folks, if "Roadhouse" invites you over for dinner you may want to ask what's on the menu first! Actually, it wasn't bad once you got past the bones. Really enjoyed meeting you guys and will keep an eye out for your pin. Charley, your pin is still in TN but the location says Sumter Oaks. I usually enter the grid coords first and after the pin moves I enter the location info. That might work for ya? See you guys in Naples, Roger
  21. Well, the sun did come up yesterday after that Pack debacle and our beloved Iowa Hawkeyes put a husking on Nebraska! Looking towards an Outback Bowl bid in nearby Tampa. A MH would work better for tailgating. Looked at a few of those Tours when we spent a few hours at Lazy Days a week ago with Tina & Jeff. They did look nice Steve but, like you, I'd have to get a used rig...maybe they'd let me take it out for a "test drive" on New Years Day?!! Roger
  22. Eric, Lynn and I lost a bit of appetite after watching that Packer debacle but, managed to take in some turkey with Tina & Jeff at the Cracker Barrell. We're leaving Sumter Oaks on Monday for a couple nights at Lazy Days in Seffner to kick some MH tires and then six nights at a place near Naples. After that we'll head back north to try and hook up with you guys as long as you promise not to rub in that "game"! Roger
  23. Dave, not sure who is in charge of the map but, I think you may have to get it in Q and hook up with the 2008/Classless...that's how we did it... Are you still at Lazy Days? We'll be there Monday. Roger
  24. Happy Thanksgiving indeed to all! We'll be enjoying our turkey dinner with Jeff & Tina hopefully after a Packer win today! "Roadhousecharley" ya need to move your pin! Roger
