  1. Jeff, if you need help with that reminder I can let them know when you get back to Livingston ol' buddy...what are friends for?! Roger
  2. Carol, We are moving today to Camden Hills St Pk after spending six days with SKP Chapter 3. I think that you'll enjoy the Pumpkin Patch. Nice park and some of the hosts are also SKP's. Gotta run...they wrangled me into flippin' pancakes this a.m. before most of them leave today...they should be more careful what they ask for! Welcome back to the good ol' U.S.A.! Roger
  3. Good advice Dianne & Tom! We came close to having our insurance lapse the same way. Fortunately, by the time we received our notice we still had a few days left and was able to go on line to renew it. Have tried to set up e-mail notifications with them and our other insurance policies but, when I asked they all reply that they don't have that set up in their system yet. Egads, everyone else does...this is the 21st century...get on board guys! Toni, that's what I'd call an "interesting" day...put that one in your journal! Reminds me of the accident report where the person claimed that the tree jumped out and hit them! We're really enjoying our visit with the SKP Chapter 3 here in Hermon, ME. Very nice and friendly group and today we're having a lobster boil with steamers and corn on the cob...Lynn's having a steak...her lose! Managed to get a campsite in Acadia NP...anxious to see that place...have heard it's awesome! Roger
  4. Thanks for that info Steve...we have really enjoyed up state New York! Friendly folks and kinda reminds me of Iowa but a bit more trees. Of course, more to see and do also. Surprised to hear only one "New Yawk" accent but they were from Long Island. Everyone seems to talk/sound like us...whatever that is? Toni and Doug, I guess I can plead that ol' Groucho Marx line: “I don’t want to belong to any club that would accept me as one of its members.” Hopin' to hook up with Jeff and Tina when they catch up! Roger
  5. Hi everybody! We are currently near Lake Placid in Wilmington, NY till Tuesday and then moving to Barrewood CG at Westfield, VT till the 9th. Next Notch View Inn & CG in Colebrook, NH till Aug 12. On the 12th we have reservations at Pumpkin Patch RV Resort near Hermon, ME till the 18th. We're moving a little faster so that we can hook-up with the local SKP chapter at Pumpkin Patch for their annual "Lobster Fest" outing. Hope to get some great lobster and tips from them about where to go and stay in Maine! Roger
  6. Steve, I've yet to talk to anyone that has working gauges for the black & grey. Anxious to hear how you make out. I talked to the techs at the Airstream factory about it and they flushed my tanks about four times and recalibrated the panel. They told me to dump a gallon of vinegar in each tank and go for a tow. After that they read empty and I was a happy camper until I reread a day later...full again. Pretty sure I didn't take that many showers, etc.!
  7. Congratulations Sue & Paul...your blog could've been written about us. As Jeff mentioned, you nailed it! I will pass it on to my stick & brick friends. Roger
  8. Smart plan Lee...even bears like cranberry juice!
  9. Linda, bears are good swimmers...seen many out fishing. With a good set of oars you should be able to outrun them. Just don't be the slowest rower as they say! Roger
  10. Jeff, we just left the Cleveland area. Visiting the Falls at Niagra now. Don't miss the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...you won't be disappointed!
  11. You know how to pick friends Jeff! Good luck on the repairs. Just remember...it ain't nuthin' that money can't fix...of course it helps to have money! Roger
  12. Gotta love it when a plan goes wrong but then goes right! Roger
  13. Lee, sounds like you may have used the same repairman that I had in Q for the cat heater connection. Moved out of the Airstream factory yesterday after giving them $5900 for some new skin, etc. After they did the water test I looked in the rear storage area and discovered wet carpet. Informed the tech and he apologized for not checking that area. Huh? He thought that the latches for the storage door needed tightening which made sense. He made them so tight that it's now hard to get open. Also, discovered that during transit the door has pulled loose from the piano hinge. Guess I'll be heading to the hardware store for some pop rivets today. Sounds like we got out just in time because storm the place and overturned some new rigs! We got set up here in Ravenna, OH just in time for it to hit here. Luckily, we didn't get the wind. Stay thirsty and safe my friends! Roger
  14. Lee, did you have to put on clean underwear after that?!
  15. Lee, I recently replaced the pump in my rig. It kept cycling on. Was gonna replace some parts but the guy at the RV store told me that would cost me nearly as much as replacing the pump. Maybe he was just trying to up sale me but it only cost about $70 for a new one. Not knowing the age of it I bit the bullet. Enjoy your cooler weather. I've givin' up on checking the weather here in OH...scattered rain/t-storms every day...at least the highs are only 70's. Roger
  16. Lee, I couldn't keep up with you...maybe I need to add more ice cream to my diet! Heading to the Airstream Factory at Jackson Center, OH this a.m. Free full hook ups but, I'm sure that I'm gonna pay for it with the work they're going to do to the "Rooster". Eight nights and that will give us a place to land over the busy 4th...BTW, happy Independence Day to all! Roger
  17. Lee, I had a similar experience years ago when we owned a small class C. Was driving down I-80 when a semi pulled along side and the person riding shotgun held up a whiteboard telling me to check my spare. Pulled over and found that the bracket weld for the spare had broken and the tire was dangling by the safety chain and bouncing down the pavement. I was wondering why the lil' rig was handling a bit weird! No bicycle though...sorry to hear about that too...hang in there buddy! Lots of rain here in the Midwest but, I'll take that over your heat any day!
  18. "to err is human; to forgive, divine"...Thank you Lynn! Lee, stay cool man! Roger
  19. Thanks for that reassuring advice Steve...now, where did I put that cranberry juice?!
  20. Okay Lee, I think that I've got ya beat for the pin map thing. Woke up this a.m. and started packing up thinking that today was departure day. When I looked at my calendar to check the site number for our next stop I noticed that we have one more day here at the Indiana Dunes. Fortunately, I hadn't raised the RV's legs, disconnected the electric and hitched up. So I turned the air back on, reconnected the satellite dish and pulled out the awning. Now Lynn is looking at me funny again! On the bright side, I told Lynn that it's like gaining an extra day in life! Anybody ever have this happen? Too early in the day for cranberry juice?
  21. Lee, I'm wondering if your pin map might be on the cranberry juice...or maybe it's mine! It's showing us as being at Indiana Dunes St Pk near Gary. We moved here yesterday after a fun but busy five week stay at our old homestead in the Quad Cities. Good to see friends and family but great to be "on the road" again. Look forward to more posts from us now that we're not tied up with doc visits, etc. you lucky guys! No tick sightings here...yet.
  22. Happy birthday Lee...Hope to buy you an ice cream with cranberries down the road soon! Enjoy your day and watch those ramps! Roger & Lynn
  23. Woke up from my nap yesterday to hear Lynn exclaiming the Tina & Jeff were at our door...what a great surprise! Had a good visit with them and Jeff stopped back at our fire later for some "cranberry juice" and swapping news about our travels. Learned more about that ice cream machine. Looking forward to trying it out when we get that way. More rain today but hoping that it holds off long enough for round two this evening. It's great to have "Classless" friends crossing paths with us on our journeys!
  24. Good morning and I'd like to thank Toni for calling this meeting to order! Still visiting with friends, docs and tornadoes here in Iowa. So, have been very busy. We will be starting our eastern leg a week from Sunday. Have scheduled an appointment at the Airstream factory in Jackson Center, OH over the July 4th. Just a few maintenance items to take care of and since they have their own RV park it will give us a "free" spot to land in over that crowded camping weekend. Looking forward to the tour and poking around new and vintage AS rigs there...'sposed to be very interesting. After that it's the NFL Hall of Fame for my football nut DW and then the Rock & Roll museum in Cleveland. We will skirt the Great Lakes up to NE and follow the leaf turning to Florida. Hope to run into some of you there! Have heard mixed reviews about FL and not sure if we'll winter there or just keep heading West. Haven't been to Texas so, Jeri & Terry watch out for us! Probably won't make AZ before February but, you never know. We really liked the SW and meeting some of you in Q. Finding this "support group" and learning some of the ropes from you guys gave us confidence in full timing. The storage unit clear out is going well! Tina and Jeff, we will be back in the Quad City area for a week after this Sunday. Where about in Iowa are you planning to be? Will load up on cranberry juice if you can stop by! Roger
  25. No problem guys and way to go! Didn't work for me either the first time...like I said the site is a little touchy.
