  1. What you went through at Lazy Days would've put me in the loony bin Dave. Thanks for the perspective...LOL! Roger
  2. Those rib things are the worst Dave. I'll bet I've cracked mine at least four times. They seem to take forever to heal...I feel yer pain! Roger
  3. How's the move going for Diane's mom? Hang in there buddy it could be worse...you could be stuck in a motel in Elkhart, IN indefinitely waiting for repairs...LOL! Roger
  4. Oh, and good wishes to you too Lee...didn't mean to forget ya...not enough motel coffee I guess! Roger
  5. Thanks all for the good wishes...still no power today. I hope that it's not because the RV facility is behind on their bill...LOL! If they don't get started today then we're in jeopardy of having to stay in a motel over the weekend...more $. Good luck Jim and Sandy and we hope things go well for ya. Roger
  6. We're having a grand time here in RV repair purgatory. They've managed to take care of a few minor items but, we're still waiting to address the major item...the front room slide. We showed up a week ago Friday and they started work on Monday. Can't complain because they're very busy and some have been sitting over a week just to start on their rig. We spent the first two days sitting in the waiting room from 7-5 while it was in the shop. After surveying the slide out's issue, it was estimated to take over three days and it was mutually decided to postpone the work till today. That way we wouldn't risk having to get a motel for over the weekend if it had to stay in the shop. About 7 p.m. Saturday we got hit with a huge storm...lots of outages including us. The power company says that they're hoping to get everyone back on by midnight today but, I,m not optimistic. Oh, and we've had no water because the shop has their own well and of course the pump is electric. To make it worse, we finally got to experience the 100+ degree heat index some of you have been enjoying. Been running our genny full time for the AC. They can't start on our rig today without the juice on. We've decided to go ahead and stay in the motel tonight and who knows for how long! As Jeri says..."Tis life on the road"! Roger
  7. Glad to hear that you found another spot Jeff...I'll call off my search for ya! Too bad you guys couldn't stay there...it looked like a great place when it's not flood season! Roger
  8. Had a similar situation years ago when we were on vacation out East. I had to hitch up in the dark starting with ankle deep creek water. By the time we rolled out it was nearly calf high. That was a close one! I've always been leery of creek side camp sites ever since. Glad that you and Tina made it out okay! Roger
  9. Yer right Jeri...he's quite the prize...dang few like him!! Roger
  10. Congratulations Lee...so glad that everything worked out on the deal...yer quite the horse trader! Roger
  11. We've had rain every day since Thursday and it's supposed to to rain all of next week....Steve, turn off the faucets down there in OK...it keeps headin' up north!!! Roger
  12. Lee, you should "CC" his boss on your email. I'm sure he'd like to know what kind of a "go getter" he has workin' for him. Roger
  13. Looks like we will be part of the "eastern gang" and of course it is mostly due to scheduled repairs to the MH that we've lined up in Elkhart! However, it should be a fun group and we are looking forward to hooking up with them and getting in some exploration of a few States that we've missed. At least we won't be stuck in Lazy Days for two months this go round...I hope...LOL! Roger
  14. I always wanted to go to the circus and you get your own personal one Steve. Sheeez...Some people have all the luck...LOL! Roger
  15. Thanks! With you guz workin' my corner things have got to turn around! Steve, I think that you thrive on all that wind down there! And Lee, slow down...yer makin' me tired!! Roger
  16. With mine you have to tap your heals together three times Steve...LOL! Here's what happened to us yesterday...guess you'd say "just another day at the office"! After leaving the Cat service center and driving about 60 miles we pulled over at a truck stop for fuel. Went to start the MH and nothing...no dash lights either. Fortunately, a diesel truck repair shop across the street came to the rescue and was able to jumper across the new ignition solenoid (that I'd just paid $750 for a diagnose and install). I was then able to drive it over to their shop. They replaced the new solenoid with another. Made it back onto the road and finished the 300 mile leg with our fingers crossed again. Heading to a CG near Lincoln, NE tomorrow...about 220 miles and for three nights. Hopefully, no more drama. Bought a small jumper wire just in case the solenoid goes out again. Roger
  17. Lee, it sounds like you and I are on the same boat. Dropped off the MH this a.m. at a Cat service center and it died on me as I was parking it. It wouldn't start and I thought that this is a good thing since I got it there without needing a tow and there was the problem in their lap. Just got a call from the tech informing me that he had no trouble starting it and after two hours of testing things he couldn't find any abnormalities...sheeesh! We decided to replace the ignition solenoid anyway. They're gonna keep it overnight and see if it starts okay in the a.m. Got all of my limbs crossed too!! Roger
  18. I like your thinking Lee but, then I always have! Roger
  19. Thanks for all the buck ups guys...we appreciate the good thoughts. Scheduled to take it into a Cat service place tomorrow. Just hope that it starts so that we don't need a tow. Have to keep moving and make the long trek back to Illinois before the end of the month to get our licenses renewed and make the doc appointments. Fingers crossed. Roger
  20. Ordered parts for the repair of our toilet. New seal and a spring assembly that makes sure that the foot pedal snaps back after flushing. If the pedal doesn't snap back the water will keep flowing like it did the other night. We're in Aurora, CO and had family over... Someone forgot to lift it back into place and we woke at 4 a.m. to find that the black tank had overflowed and coach was flooded with water...crikey. On the way to Denver we had warning lights going off on the dash again ad nauseum. Then on arrival we went to unhook the Jeep we found that we couldn't shift it into gear because the cable was broke. $500 to fix and our third tow with Coachnet in a year. Now the ignition key starts the engine intermittently. Trying to get in for repair before we head out on a 300 mile leg to Kansas. It's gotten to the point where enough is enough of throwing good money into this money pit and we're afraid to travel. Started internet shopping for a replacement or will hang up the keys. We've had nothing but drama the past year since buying it and it has made our lifestyle unbearable. Dreaming of that place with a dock and pontoon boat! Lee, we need your rabbit's foot if there's any magic left in it! Roger
  21. Boy she seems to really like Texas flowers! And, she doesn't look like she's gotten much bigger since we last saw Cali. Snowed about an inch the other day here in NM...gotta get out of this Santa Fe altitude! Roger
  22. 34 years putting up with you Steve? OMG...there should be some kind of award for Carol! Congratulations you two!! And Lee, that's also a honey of a campground yer at too. Have to check it out if we get back in that area. Roger
  23. You need a vacation Lee! And Jeri we feel for ya...last year we kept staying one day ahead of tornadoes in that part of the country. after leaving FL for IL. It get's tricky this time of the year in the central U.S. Stay safe y'all!! Roger
  24. Too bad all of you cataract sufferers couldn't get together on a group rate! Good luck with the procedure...they'd have to put me under to do it to me. Jeff, I had no idea that you had saggy floors...good luck with that too! Roger
