  1. Niether. IOS is the operating system that Cisco uses for its hardware. iOS is the operating system that iPhones use. The case of the first letter is different.
  2. You might try LibreOffice. It is a fork of Open Office.
  3. Go to About the Discussion Forums for threads on new methods for doing old things, such as your display name.
  4. Google is confused. If the pin is on Agua Caliente from the entrance to Mesa Grande, then the town name is correct. Anywhere else in the park is wrong. My guess is that Google has issues with the road names within the park. Another possibility is that someone supplied incorrect information. Dave Sand
  5. Yep, it might get a bit noisy. That is the Union Pacific mainline between TX and CA. Dave
  6. Your timing on the question is good. IOS 8.3 was released today. Dave
  7. From the iPad point of view, the connection to the Jet Pack is just another WIFI connection so the automatic OS update can occur. There is no setting to disable this "feature". The only way to prevent it from happening is to never have WIFI enabled when on A/C power and you are using the Jet Pack to get to the Internet. Dave
  8. Lee, iOS devices, such as your iPad will do an automatic operating system upgrade if you do your backups to iCloud (or none at all), AND you are on WIFI AND you have the device on A/C power. Dave
  9. Just to clarify about the class map, or maybe confuse everyone. There are actually two web sites involved. Jeri takes care of the over all look and feel. The class map itself is at a different web site, but it is embedded in Jeri's site. The map has not needed any updates in the last few years. It just keeps on ticking. Jeri takes care of getting people on to the system and I make them disappear based on emails from Jeri. BTW: History fact. The actual map web site was created while we spent a week at Firelake Grand Casino. Dave
  10. There are 2 entries in the database: "Coldsmoke" and "cold smoke". The first one is not visible, so the second needs to be used.
  11. So, why isn't your pin at the gps coordinates?
  12. Your ID has been reset to the default password. Dave
  13. On the class map, the user Test is at the coordinates. Use satellite view to see the route. Dave
  14. Try using http://www.sandsys.org/maps. This will take you directly to the map page. Dave Sand
  15. What tablet are you using? I am able to update on my iPhone. Not very easy with the small screen. The easiest way is to enter the coordinates using the GPS button. Dave Sand
  16. It appears that the problem with the map displaying old data is related to caching. The default cache value coming from the server was 1 week. I have put in a change which SHOULD tell your browser to not cache the map data. You may also need to do a page reload (sometimes under the view menu), to force loading new map data. Dave Sand
  17. This may seem like silly question, but I am trying to understand what is happening: Are you sure that your logon was successful? If it is, your marker will turn yellow, the map will center on your current location and the GPS Coordinates and Location buttons will be come active. Once the logon is complete, you can move your marker by dragging, use the GPS Coordinates button to enter the GPS location, and use the Location button to update your location and site. Dave Sand
  18. I suspect it might be browser caching. Dave Sand
  19. Not sure what is going on, but something is confused. As of right now, the database behind the map shows the following: Joe Spiker in Carnation WA, last changed on 2011-08-29 at 13:11:55 The Weavers in Canton OH, last changed on 2011-08-29 at 15:46:52 Jim and Sandie in Gillette WY, last changed on 2011-08-30 at 14:11:41 The time in the database is CST/CDT. The change date is set by the system. Only the map coordinates, Location and Site are user changeable. Dave Sand
