  1. Setting in Beaumont, Tx visiting with daughter and son in law and our grandsons. Plan on being here until after thanksgiving. Left the RV in Casa Grande, Az and drove the truck over. Now waiting on the flash as Jeri goes east and then another as she returns to the west.

As we drove by Deming, NM we thought of Lee and how much he meant to all of us.

  3. Yesterday Tina and I went to the drag races at Firebird Raceway near Boise, Idaho. I needed my fix, I miss my racing. I didn't know until the end of the night when the jet cars were about to run I heard his name. Richard Smith. I had not seen this guy for nearly 45 years. He was a neighbor during my early teen years and he is younger than me. Small world we live in anymore. We found him in the pit area and talked for 15 minutes or so. He and his mother live in Oregon now instead of Kansas where I last saw him. That was really cool. A great ending for a fun night.

I had the motor shaft for my big slide strip when I was in Perry, Mo. I could not get the motor out to replace. I talked to one of the gate attendants at the COE park and he said this man who lives across the road from the park had helped people on their RV s before and might help me. I called him and he came over and we worked on it for a while but could not remove it. I had to cut the shaft to remove the motor. The man had a shop where we took the shaft and he welded an adapter so I could install the new motor. The man only charged me for the parts and was very resourceful on making the adapter for the shaft. The mans name was Bill Kuhlmann and in 1987 he broke the 200MPH mark in the Pro Stock class, Very nice man. He invited Janice and I over to his house and we meet his wife and some of his children, He showed us his trophies and a video of his motor blowing which caused him to spend several weeks in the hospital.

  4. Had a great time visiting with Linda and Dave Sands today. Linda was looking great. We talked about everybody that wasn't there, a lot. Hope your ears are burning!!! I told Linda and Dave they couldn't leave the class because once a member always a member. Besides she helps keep everyone straight.

  5. We are still in Tennessee but plan on leaving before Monday. I was wondering where Lee was now as there was a lot of fireworks around here recently. I bet he was passing near us on his way to SC. Hope all is well with Lee and he is enjoying his trip east. Sorry to say it is hot and humid here but supposed to cool down Saturday. Happy 4th to everyone.

  6. I just made a post and it never posted. I sat there about 15 minutes doing nothing then the message cleared the post box but never showed up on the page. Now your going to wonter what I said forever.

Whatever it was, it had to be very enlightening. Maybe the post will return when the ice cream machine returns. Hope you are still doing great!!!!!

  7. 105* here in Havasu today, but slurping drinks while floating in the pool makes it feel a whole lot cooler :)

You need to add a water fountain or mister system to enjoy your drinks. Splashing water on yourself to stay cool interferes with drinking!!!! Stay cool, 105 is hot, dry heat or not..

  8. Thanks for the update. It's always nice to have another set of eyes on people you care about who MIGHT have a tendency to minimize a situation. When he's not twisting, turning, and embellishing it. :)

    Linda

Linda- Lee always tells the truth not like Steve who has been know to adjust the facts. Now you really can't trust either one of them when it concerns the ice cream machine. I think Steve has taken advantage of Lee's condition to return and get the ice cream machine. Why else would he return to tornado alley in season?

  9. I'm planning a trip to a very popular, historical and beautiful city that most people keep in their plans and I hate it. Charleston, SC. I'd prefer any boondock area. We pretty much figured out I'll be going to an assisted living near my niece. You better bet If I ever get rid of these seizures I'll be playing like an escape artest. I'll be staying here in Deming for about 3 more weeks while my nephew and niece take care of the business up in Iowa leaving me careed for by one of the Cowgirls.

    Sorry double post.

As we traveled back to Tennessee from Florida, we got to Savannah and followed the Georgia /South Carolina border toward Tn. Got real close to Charleston before we turned. We know our way back to Charleston and also to Deming if you need our help. Hope the seizure stop soon so you can come visit us. We do have a place for you to stay in your Rv or if you arrive with just your truck. We are probably the closest to Charleston right now.

  11. Jerry and Janice if you like flea markets and you are still in Clermont, Webster isn't too far away. The Webster flea market is Mondays only. It's pretty big too.

    Jeff

We went to Webster last Monday. If was overcasy and rainy looking. There wasn't as many vendors as the last time we were there. Thinking about going to the one in Auburndale this weekend. It is close to Polk city. We have been there before and thought we might check it out again.

Lee- we try to use the concept of something in then something out. While it doesn't always happen at same time, there is always a point where we do reduce things.

  12. We decided to go to Canton, Tx. for the big flea market this weekend before going to San Antonio. Got to the campground about noon before all the heavy rain, thunder and lightening. Tornado alerts all around the area. http://www.firstmondaycanton.com/

Hey Joe our cat is 16 and still going strong.

If you have never been there before I would suggest you get a map to find your way around and take your GPS to find your way out of the flea market. That thing is huge and scattered every where. Have fun and stay safe and dry,

  13. It's spring in Arizona !

Well it is spring in Florida also. Only problem is when they removed Carol's gall bladder they must have pulled the plug in the clouds over us as it has rained hard for the last few days. Hope Carol is doing great as well as the rest of the class. Lee- need us to send some rain your way?
