  1. Jeff- Janice had to have the same procedure a couple of weeks ago and she is seeing a lot better.  She had the cataract surgery almost 2 years ago and the vision in her  left eye started getting bad first and in about 2 months it was hard for her to see. Her right eye started getting worse next and in about 3 weeks, she had problems seeing good.  Anyway after the surgeries, she can see pretty good again.

Did you stay up last night to watch the Football game (Chargers-Broncos)? I was flipping between football and baseball (Rockies- D-backs) and they both were nail biters at the end. My "teams" got the win. The football game started way too late. It was almost 12:30 am when it ended. It was like being in the Eastern time zone.

Going to warm back into the 90's again. Summer is not over yet.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff    :)

Good thing you are retired, you can stay up all night and watch the games.  Where we are at in Tennessee, the rain has kept our temperatures cool, 58 now and high was in 70's today and still raining.

Turns out that the alternator was bad and it got replaced last week. However, I just got back from the RV repair shop. It appears that my Magna invertor had a major failure during the engine startup and fried pretty much all of the 12v system's motherboards. HWH leveling, multiplex controller, etc. Stairs and keyless pad don't work. Not sure of the generator's status. They haven't gotten to that yet.
I guess that you could say that this repair is gonna be the "mother of all repairs" that I've faced...I hate RVs!

I guess the Beav is pissed that you are selling it. Sorry for all the bad luck you have had. I don't know how you can keep your sanity.

Roger, the ol' Beave is going kicking and a screaming. It really likes your attention ($$). LOL! I shouldn't laugh you guy have had a tough time with her. We probably would've left the road waaay before you if we had the same troubles. Hang in there buddy.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff    :)

I hope the race car doesn't turn into your Beaver! Them toys can get expensive but fun.

Ouch, you guys. We certainly feel your pain. Did you need a tow? And then it's where to get service and a motel that allows pets if you can't stay in the rig.
I think that the happiest period in my life was the first two years of full timing in the ol" Airstream (Red Rooster). Trying to get back there but, I've gotta get the Beave repaired and sold first. We'll meet you guys down the road somewhere...I hope!

Yes we needed a tow but we had coach net and it only took 8 hours to go 15 miles.  Coachnet provided the tow companies the wrong info on my RV and the closest company to have the equipment to tow was over 200 miles away. At 400 dollars an hour and 1600 as their estimate.  This was kinda pricey.  I called one of the local  tow companies and explained what my RV was and they said they could do the tow.  He towed us to a repair shop in  Sonora, Ca that got us going after 6 days but we could stay in the RV at his location. We did a lot of sight seeing in the area to include checking out where the Calaverrus frog jumping contest is held.

The Beav is definitely going down biting Steve! I checked the batteries...they tested and looked okay. The multiplex control box (in the breaker closet) was the smoker. I looked at those big fuses and they "appeared" alright. Finally got ahold of the service manager. Said they'd try and get a look see this p.m.

How's the shoulder treatin' ya? Getting better I hope!

Roger, I will have to say you have had the worst luck of any RVer I know.  My air conditioner went out and I had the hub holding the fan on the motor come apart leaving us stranded just out of Yosemote NP and a flat on the motor home.  Cost over $5500 to fix it all.  This nothing to the problems you have had.  I am very sorry for all the misery you have had and I hope it gets better for you. Hope to visit with you and Lynn again sometime in the future.

Well I took Jerry's advice and headed SOUTH.  Well we did go more West than South.  Sitting in Ocean Shores watching the waves roll in.  :-)

    Joe

Way to go, now just keep that coach headed south.  We are in Beaumont, Texas visiting our grandsons.  In the high 90's and very humid.  Come on down and see how the part of the country lives.  We are leaving for our place in Tennessee soon. Little cooler there.

Not sure what part of TX you will be visiting, but here in east TX it has been humid, but not that stormy of late. Still haven't hit 100° but it is getting close and the humidity has made it hot! We used to have family in Leadville but now all of them live down along the front range.

We are going to Beaumont Tx and they just had a tropical storm come thru but no damage to their house. Leadville is  a neat town but kinda hard to breathe here,  Oxygen helps alot!!! Not sure how I got caps on but will fix next post.

It's hard to use two fingers when they're both on the same hand!  are you guys coming through Oklahoma on your way to Texas?

We are not sure of our route yet but if you know where the ice cream machine is, we might have to make a detour!!!  Are you still having tornados there?

  10. Jim and Sandy nice to see that you are moving again. Phoniex area set records for highs this week.

Steve-I know you are working as hard as possible to rehab your shoulder but Carol may get tried of babying you after a while. Maybe you could try typing with two fingers to speed up.

Toni and Doug- While some parks will be a challenge with a trailer, I am sure you will work around most of the parking issues.

Jeff and Tina- Since you are in Neb and Iowa racing your car, are you using the corn there to put in the race car or are you just drinking it?

Joe- You need to head south again, the moss may be growing on you soon!!

Linda and Dave- Hope your new place is working out great for you.

We are in Leadville, Colorado, the highest incorporated city in the US and it still got in the 80's the other day. Real nice at night. We need to go to Texas to visit the grand kids but it is stormy and hot there. Slowly heading there anyway.

You all enjoy that warm weather down there and let me know when you want to cool off, I'll send some more rain and snow that way.

    Joe

We are supposed to get in the 40's tonight. We also had heavy rain and hail today , enough to look like snow on the ground. Jeff has an amazing talent in regards to wet weather. Jeff also had healthy beer last night also, looked healthy anyway. I know my beer was healthy.

  12. Hmmm RAINING, Jeff must be somewhere nearby. We just decided to brave the elements and head into town for a bit. Need to mail a card and then will just bypass lunch and go straight for desert. Oh Ya Death by Chocolate Ice Cream. (found the Ice Cream Machine  )

    (theonelettinghisbeltout)

I am in Mesa getting my Air conditioner fixed on RV at Gene's RV repair. It is raining on me as I got too close to Jeff, We did enjoy a great meal at the Organ Stop Pizza with the gang in the area. Jeri, Terry, Jim, Sandy, Jeff and Tina. Speaking of ice cream, some of the gang did have a sundae but I am not telling who. haha

  13.

Jerry has glass. He pours that whiskey into it. Oh, you said "class". Never mind.

(This sounded to me like something Lee would have said. I miss him.)

    Linda

I don't think Lee will ever be forgotten by his friends. As we travel around the country, we are constantly reminded of things Lee told us and things he could have told us if he was still here. Linda-Thanks for defending me, I normally use a mason jar but I do have a glass.

At least there is some life here. My Class of 2011 is on page 2 and locked. No posts since Nov. of 2015. We are Class-Less. :)

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff :)

You would have more class if you would quit hanging around Jeri. haha (If she wasn't my twin, she would get mad at me.) Enjoyed our short visit the other day. Got another bottle of that baaaaaad whisky for when we meet again.

    Jerry

  15. Lol good thing you didn't come Thursday for Margaritas! With the bad weather, we moved quesadilla night up to Tuesday. If we had known you were thinking of coming we would have let you know! I think Thursday was the rainy night that we all piled into our rig to play Farkle!

Well, I am sure there would have been enough available for one or two drinks. If not I would have had to drink some of Mike's Irish whiskey or Steve's Baaaaaaaad whisky. Have fun!!!!

  16. Lyn, there are a few people left but the crappy weather scared lots of us away early.

I think Toni is boondocking, so there should be room. Try messaging her on facebook if you can't reach her by phone....

We were planning on going over on thursday for the Margartias but the weather didn't look good so we stayed in Casa Grande. Even in the rain, I know the bunch of you had fun anyway. Stay dry is not normally said in the desert, but applies in this case.

  17. If we had warmer weather I think we women would have made off with the UTV but its darn cold out there!!!

Ok, let's think about this. Let the men drive it first. They get cold and built an enclosure to keep the wind off. Now it will be warmer with all that hot air in an enclosed space. When they come in to get a cup of hot chocolate, the girls can grab a propane heater, jump in the UTV, close the curtains, hook up the heater and take off and then enjoy a nice warm ride.

  18. Ok, lets see now; Wake up Dave, drive the UTV to the store, get metal, wrestle the drawer away from Carol, line the drawer with metal, weld same!! It's all too much. Scrap project, make another cup of coffee and chill out. Sorry Jerry it won't work

At least you get to drive the UTV. or Dave does. haha

  19. Jeff, glad you have the old Jeep going again. Those electronic parts can sure be a pain. We have our drawer back together and working now. Of course it's the main one we use all the time and it fell apart right in the middle of the Christmas cooking frenzy!! After Paul worked on it it will probably outlast the bus now! Nothing like an air stapler, wood glue and some gussets to rehab this thing! Steve

If Dave is around, see if he can weld some metal around the drawer just in case!!!! Nothing like having friends.

    Jerry and Janice

  20. Change of plans.... going to spend 4 nights at Casa Grande at the Sundance... look out the Hintons will be visiting you classless people!

Great news, lets all get together for a meal, drink or just a visit. Maybe Jeri and Terry can come down. I know Roger and Lynn are here but there may be others close that can come.
