  1. We can join the group of dragging a spare tire under our class C years ago. Thanks to a passing car pointing to the back of the camper. It was still good on one side. I lost the baskets off my bike somewhere in BC one time and thought I saw them on the side of the road the next time I drove through that area. Although I doubt it.

IYQ....thanks for clearing up the confusion about the temp. In the shade. Glad you made it to a cooler spot.

  2. Roger, I'm glad to see that you are human, It was getting pretty lonely being the only human on earth. I would have realized I was a day early when I was about half way to the next stop.

Gang: 109 degrees today in the shade under my trailer. Maybe it's good that I didn't get that Ice Cream Machine it would have all melted today. I'm all hooked up and ready to head for Eagle nest in the morning. I'll probably freeze up there after spending a couple of days in the 100+ weather. There are no hook ups at Eagle Nest so I'll have to move again in two weeks. Maybe Raton. NM or some of the high parks over on the west side of NM. One thing for sure I'll be staying in the high country for quiet a while. I hope I get a better internet connection in Eagle Nest. I can't remember if I had trouble there last year or not. They have free WiFi in this park but that don't help the Phone much and even then the WiFi signal is very week here and sometimes I keep loosing it. Back to the Cranberry Juice.

I just want to know what you are doing in the shade under your trailer? I guess when you have too much cranberry juice in your system your liable to end up most anywhere. lol. I would suggest finding some shade where you can at least take your chair next time. I always hear people talking about Eagles Nest so I guess we need to stop sometime and check it out. Hope your weather is nice. We are in for a week of 90's here in Wyoming so it will be air conditioner time for me.

  3. HDRider....while you are in Nashville you might want to walk around the lobbies of the Opry hotel. But, if you do , do not go in the front drive and pay for parking when you can go to the mall behind ( by Bass Pro and cinemas) and use their parking lot for free. They say 'back door guests are best' anyway. If you have never seen it before you will enjoy all the plants and little shops to browse. I think they even have a little gondola ride now in one of the lobbies. They do sell ice cream but it's not near as good as that silly machine in Shawnee. Diane and Glyn

  4. Happy Birthday Lee!! Aren't you glad you took such good care of yourself all these years so you can goof off and enjoy yourself now? Have an extra scoop of ice cream on us and good luck finding that nice cool place in NM to hide out... I mean stay for a few months. On the count of three we will all sing Happy Birthday to you.....1....2.....3.....go!!!

  5. Friday I checked with California. My rig is to long, DOT said there is no leniency on length. I talked to CHP. They said "Looks like a truck, smells like a truck, is a truck." So I can't go to Sidewinder. No way, No how. I guess California will have to balance there budget with out my help.

    Happy trails and safe travel

    • I took my daughter to lunch on Friday and left the east behind me. The humidity, the rain, the grandchildren all needing new ball gear. I did have a beautiful lite show in Iowa at 1am with lightning streaking across the sky behind the clouds. Lots of heavy rain so it was a good time to refuel the car and me until it let up a little. Surprised Glyn by coming home on Saturday instead of Sunday but he anticipated that and already had washed the dished, washed the sheets and washed the dog .I was told.he rolled in something, the dog not Glyn. Good trip other than the rain.

We are going to try and stay in Hondo, TX for the month of Nov. so our daughter can come for a visit, then to Artesia, NM for December and then right after the new year to Naco, Mexico so Glyn can get new choppers. We will probably try to stay at Benson as they said it would take two weeks to get them done. From there it's on to AZ to boondock in Q. We may check with the California border patrol to se if we can get our truck to Sidewinder Road without a fine. They say our truck is commercial and needs all the stickers that go with it. If we can get through we can meet there if that is the choice, otherwise we vote for the Q Parker BLM area and not hassle with the CA police. But wherever the majority want to go is fine with us. We plan to be in that area from the 15th of Jan to the end of Feb at least.

If the smoke gets too much for all you folks in CO you can come to WY for a visit, we are still allowed to have a campfire with our morning coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cranberry juice or whatever, every day for our campers to come out and visit. We even put up a shade tent today so Glyn's head won't sunburn when he falls asleep in his chair. Glad for all the chatter from everyone as it's nice to catch up.

PS to Julie...don't let Mike take that new truck out on the four-wheeler trails.

Can't wait to check out all the new rigs when next we meet....be careful going to that AS factory in Ohio, you might come out with a similar looking but different house as there is a trend in the air around here.

Happy Fathers Day from us as well to all the dads. I took Glyn to the burger joint up the street for a burger and milk shake which he had to pay for but it was my idea and I drove so he could sightsee and it's the thought that counts. Everyone have a safe week, Diane

  6. Graduation over, party over, baseball tournament this week and then back home to my own bed.yea. It's been an eventful week getting ready for the grad party but all went well and only one child fell, pushed or jumped into the pool by accident or on purpose, we will never really know for sure. There was a blow up bouncy thing where you get harnessed in and try to run with a bungy cord attached to the back of the harness and you try to see how far you can go. I don't know about the little kids but the big kids all got rug burn on their elbows and had sore muscles the next day,,,or two. But fun was had by all. Glyn gets to go to the one next year and I will stay home to tend the camp. I will be leaving Columbus on Friday afternoon after ball so I will check out some of the pins to see where folks might be on Saturday for a stop over along the way. Hope all the storms will be off for the weekend. Diane

  7. Are you going to see the big ball of string? I think it is close to there. Also the Russel Stover candy factory is in Iola, NE with a real factory outlet store in front. Just be sure you eat real food before going or EVERYTHING looks too good. Hope you dodge all that stormy weather. Diane

  8. Glyn has to stay and work the campground here in WY and I will be driving by myself. I will be in a bit of a hurry this week but will have more time to stop and visit on my way back to WY from Ohio. My return will be closer to the 15 or 16 of June if you are still in that area as it is very close to interstate 80/74 which is my route this time. Also, I will be in a very maneuverable little car so I can go anywhere quickly:-) If anyone else is along interstate 80 between Quads and Rock Springs, WY the middle of June my plans are open for side trips to visit, (especially if you know of a good ice cream stop). Love chatting here and knowing there are like minded people out there along our travels.

  9. I can relate to the lost things. I lost a packet of hummingbird feed. Looked all over and it was in a bright red package, should have been easy to spot. Just found it a few minutes ago when I was looking for some scissors...it was in a white shopping bag.....no wonder I couldn't find it. Now my little birds can come for dinner.

Please send the rain away from the Quads as I will be coming through there the end of the week on my way to Ohio for a granddaughter graduation. Unfortunately looks like rain the whole way. Happy Memorial Day to all you vets out there and thank you for your service. Diane

  10. Hello out there:-) Glyn and I left Toledo last Thursday and got all the way to a dog potty stop east of Grand Island, NE before he noticed some moisture on the radiator hose. It was not leaking......until he touched it. So, after drinking a soda so he could use the can and some of my special zebra duct tape for a temporary repair we went to the International dealer in Grand Island where we spent the next couple of hours in their parking lot so Glyn could instal a new hose. They were booked til Monday and this was only Friday. Unlike IYQ we had an option to fix ourselves. The rest of our trip to Wyoming was uneventful!!!!! Yea. We did stop to visit the bridge Over Interstate 80' in Kearney, NE. It was a very nice stop as the museum is actually inside the bridge over the highway. Stop and see us if you get our way, boondock with good water, dump, and trash....Huuuumm sounds familiar, Can't wait for January to get here and share campfires with everyone again in Q.

  11. Hi gang

I can tell it is near summer. Tomorrow, D and I head for Wy. If we get out late it will be I-80 for 1400 miles and 125 miles on US 191. If we get out early We go US 24 past Chicago, then up to I-80. That's a long way to work. Did I say work, eck.

    safe travels

    glyn

  12. Paul

Di and I are in Toledo,Oh. We are leaving on the 9 th. for Wy. So for now Ohio is covered.

    Eric

Enjoy you stay in Mi. Have you though of using a masaratior (sp) and a blue boy? some people in Q use 55 gl. drums for blue boy. A clear one for fresh water and a blue one for waste.

    safe travels

    glyn

  13. Tom and Dianne

I am not sure if we will stop at Cherry Creek. Diane would like to stay here as long a possiable (daughters house in Ohio). We are on I-80 and that goes to Wy. We are taking a back road to miss Chicago. We could go to Indy. and catch I-70. You need to talk to the boss and we could be there.

  14. I like the idea of the "Class-less class". It will help those that there class is not active. It can also be of help to new fulltimers. I thank all will be glad to share info. and huggs. CLC is a good start for that.

2008-2009 and all 2013 participants should stay with the 2008-2009. IMHO. LOL

Where is Cherry Creak in Co.? We must be in Wy. on May 13. We could stop by. Meet Jeff and visit with Roger and Lynn.

Safe travels and a good summer.

  15. Thanks to Steve and Carol for a great time at the casino. We told them where we were parked and after watching them circle for ten minutes I finally pushed Glyn in front of their truck so they would stop and pick us up. After lunch Steve promised to show us the ice cream but after weaving around the machines and loosing sight of him I had the idea he was trying to loose us in the crowd. He could not out maneuver me and I found it at last. After all that sugar we were so wound up we drove to Jackson,TN to wait for Casey Jones to open and fix us breakfast. I think we had all that wind from out west pushing us the whole way.

I think we'll pick some extra 'Grandpa's Brew' while we are in TN to share in Q next year.....for medicinal purposes of course.....it should cut through all that green stuff IYQ has had lately.

We'll leave the lights on this summer in WY for y'all.

  16. Thanks to Steve and Carol for a great time at the casino. We enjoyed our lunch and even had a great waiter. After we finished our meal we tried to find the ice cream machine and wandered all around the machines. I had to stop and rest three times and jog to keep up behind Steve. I got the idea he was trying to loose us in the crowd and keep it all for himself. He did not succeed. We found the ice cream machine and got photos to prove it. I even snuck some out to our fur kids. When we left we were on a sugar high and had a tail wind so we drove all the way to Jackson, TN where we stopped and slept at Casey Jones Museum and Country store to wait for them to open for breakfast. Great place for a country buffet and free overnight parking across the street and quiet, just in case anyone is in the area.

IYQ maybe we had better pick up a few more jars of grandpas moonshine to share in Q next year so you will have some on hand when you need it.......for medicinal purposes of course...... it helps when your having a bad day as well...win, win.

We will be sure and keep the lights on in WY this summer just for y'all.
