  1. If you're looking for a summer lot we're selling ours in Colorado.  It's at 9400' and in an absolutely beautiful area with a great community.  It's somewhat remote, halfway between Gunnison and Montrose but has a lodge with rooms to rent, restaurant, bar, bands on weekends, Fire department (Firewise community), security patrol, community dump station, etc.  Our lot is the only lot available that has full hookup with 50 & 30 amp, great water system, septic tank, DSL internet, and a 12x12' shed with double doors for UTV/ATV storage. $90,000.00

    Here's the listing:   https://www.tamarackatarrowhead.com/-/listing/CO-MAOR/785950/251-Balsam-Road-Cimarron-CO-81220?display_page=1&index=14&lpp=20&total_listings=14&ss_id=300449034&from=saved_search

    We're buying a cabin here.

  2. Back in the day when I worked 7/7 offshore I was in a book of the month club. Had tons of hardback sci-fi books.  Sadly over the years and especially when we went full-time I had to get rid of them. Asimov, Andre Norton, PK Dick were some of my favorites.

But of all of those the ones I truly miss are the classic novels I grew up with: Tom Sawyer, Huck, Treasure Island.

Nowadays everything I read is on my phone.

  3. Since Dometic now owns Atwood, not sure if they have changed or will continue to produce the Atwood units.  Some friends who bought the Atwoods before the buyout were very pleased with the performance and low noise.  Best feature was the 2 separate fans, compressor and blower, since the blower could run continuously.  So IF Dometic hasn't changed the Atwood design I'd look closely at it.

  4. The hike from the parking lot at Horseshoe Bend is through deep loose sand, so a bit difficult.

Years ago we took a small guided hike to Canyon X.  Just 4 of us and an elderly guide.  Awesome to see and experience the canyon without the crowds.  Not sure how it is today but then it was a moderately difficult hike down into and back up the canyon.

  5. Another thing to look for with an older coach is an active owners forum.

I've owned 2 Newells and now have an older Foretravel.  Both have very active owners forums with most of the info you'll ever need readily available online.  Much better than some of the Facebook groups where you have to ask a question then wait for others to answer then filter through the incorrect answers.

  6. The monies from those subsidies will only get spent somewhere else.

I'm not one who buys a new car and the used cars I buy usually hang around for 10 years or so.  So I'm not in the demographic to buy an EV.  At least not for another 5 years or so.  These discussions are interesting to me.  What I really want is to program my car to drive across Texas while I sleep or read....

  7. No, we do not love ethanol.  Ethanol was forced onto the American public by our gov't. listening to enviros.  Ethanol is a boondoggle that has resulted in the price of foodstuffs to rise, fuel economy and fuel costs to rise.  Now if ethanol were replaced with methanol (we do have the technology now to overcome the problems with meth.) it would make more sense.  Methanol can be produced from waste products.
