  1. Okay Steve and Lee - I think we need to stop this dropsy stuff. I don't think my lemon bars made quite the mess you guys had to clean up but they were bad enough. Had a wonderful Mother's Day and I hope everyone had the same. We're expecting Wind today. Gee are we in NM? 50 mph gusts. Sound familiar Dave and Lee? But the good news is that it's supposed to calm down by the time we're ready to leave later this week.
  2. We had such a great time tonight with Dave and Nancy. We were going to go out for Chinese food but couldn't ever find the restaurant. So we gave up and went to Yelp for help. I started reading the names of places and Nancy said - that one sounds good. Dave agreed and so off we went to find the Zinc Wine Bar and Bistro. It was out in the University area of Albuquerque and the food was beyond wonderful. And the company was even better. Thanks guys for such a good time.
  3. Steve - Jim isn't talking to you anymore.
  4. Have internet once again. Mike and Deb that is such wonderful news. Congrats. Wow - two house sales in such a short time. Maybe that bodes well for everybody else that's trying to unload a house. We are in Albuquerque tonight. At the same park with Shadowtracks but I need a shower before we can track them down. Spent last night listening to the wolves howl. It was beautiful. The weather is about perfect. Not much wind and in the 80's. Yippee.
  5. 36 degrees when we got up this morning. Haven't had to use the heat in so long we almost forgot how to turn it on. Then we had some more excitement. Our LP gas detector went off. It's amazing how fast I can read those little booklets when we need to find out what's wrong. Ours was a malfunction of the unit that could be fixed by resetting it. Thank goodness, that's all that was wrong. Now I know that if it's a pulsing alarm and red, that's the danger signal. Also, to add to the joy of our lives - last night, after it got cold, our door wouldn't shut after Jim took the girl's out. I guess when we got locked in and they had to pry us out, something got bent just enough that it won't work when it gets cold and the metal contracts. Another project for Jim today. But not until after we go sight seeing. Priorities you know. (He finally did get the door shut and we can lock it when we leave today.)
  6. We are camped at the entrance to Petrified Forest National Park. The Crystal Forest Gift Shop has a few campsites. For $10.75 a night you can have 20 amp electric or you can dry camp for free. A couple of rigs are parked next to us but they have strange license plates on them so I'm assuming they're from a foreign country. Drove up and down Rte 66 in Holbrook and tomorrow we'll go explore the park.
  7. We hope to be in Albuquerque by Saturday but it all depends on weather. I think it's supposed to improve this week so I'm sure hoping it does. I agree - sure am glad we did the east coast last year. We're doing much more of a straight line (well kind of) from AZ to MT. I'll let you guys know as we get closer to Alb. Sure hope we can meet up for dinner.
  8. Hey Dave - we will probably be headed out I-40 on Tuesday but we plan on taking a couple of days to get to ALB. I can't believe their weather. If the kids weren't there we would certainly avoid it this year. I've been keeping on eye on the weather all along the route and this week does look a little better, I think.
  9. Dave and Nancy - we're leaving on Monday and are headed towards Albuquerque. Just not sure when we'll get there. What route are you taking to Bryce/Zion? There must be somewhere along the line where we can meet. Freddy & Delcie - I am so glad you guys are finally feeling better. I'm not sure your weather is going to be very good for awhile yet. It still looks awfully cold to me in Colorado. Mike and Deb - sure hope your closing goes through on the 3rd. Hopefully we'll meet up with you down here in the lower 48.
  10. WOO HOO!!!!!! YIPPEE SKIPPY!!! Steve and Carol sold their house. How exciting. We will definitely have a toast tonight to celebrate with you. Congratulations you guys. We are so happy for you.
  11. Thanks for checking in. The last time I checked you hadn't moved your peg on the map. Glad to know you're having a great time with family for a little while. Have fun this summer at Tahoe.
  12. Went back to Superstition Skies tonight. Just love Brant & Kerry. Going to miss them this summer but they said they'll be back next year. it's warm down here and supposed to be windy on Friday. But it's so much better than what the south has been experiencing. Hope everybody is safe out there.
  13. Anybody heard anything from Eric and Karla lately? How about Freddy and Delcie?
  14. Dave - how long is this wind supposed to be carrying on in NM? We were going to go see the kids in ALB in about two weeks. Can you please make it all go away for us? Thanks. Sandie
  15. Steve - does the casino have a place you can run to if need be? Stay safe. Back in Apache Junction for a week or so until Jim's medication and our mail catch up to us. Then we're headed north into a little cooler weather.
  16. $50 A NIGHT!!!! Holy cow. Hopefully you can find something cheaper tomorrow. Glad you made it safe and sound though.
  17. Not sure I can hold my breath that long but I'm going to give it a try. Hang in there guys, it's almost over with.
  18. It is so good to catch up with everybody again. I feel like I've been out of touch for a lifetime even though it's only been a week. The Walk was really great and I'm sure glad we helped out. We're back in Las Vegas and going to have dinner with Jeri and Terry tonight. Now onto blog reading for the next couple of hours.
  19. Pa and D - hope your don't need to be in WY for a couple of weeks yet so it has time to warm up and make the snow go away. Sailbad - have a good time cleaning. Maybe you can trick Lee into using one of those Swiffer thingies for you. We are headed into Death Valley today so I won't be able to catch up with anybody until we get back out. No internet. So everybody stay safe and I'll check back in in about a week or so.
  20. From the sounds of your weather - you rig is rolling whether its ready or not. Have a good drive up the road tomorrow.
  21. Prayers for Delcie. Tell her we need her to take good care of herself. Definitely sounds like time to head north for you guys. I just finished reading one of the blogs I follow and they had to evacuate because of the Marfia fire. Texas is really in bad shape this year from being so dry. Please be safe and hopefully your neighbors and friends will be okay with their cattle.
  22. I bet those mountains are just gorgeous. We didn't have any snow coming over the hump but there's still a little bit of snow on Mt. (whatever it is here). The wind has finally given up but it's still chilly. I'm sure Death Valley will warm us up nicely next week.
  23. We'll be in Death Valley until the morning of Monday, the 18th. Hopefully our phones will work this time while we're there. I know we won't have internet service. We're headed to Pahrump tonight and then into Furnace Creek tomorrow morning. Sure would like to see you guys if you do come into the park.
  24. We're headed for Death Valley but wanted to visit our friends again here in Las Vegas. So we're parked in their drive way for three nights.
  25. I think we are really in for the wind now. We're in Las Vegas and they have a high wind warning for tomorrow. Winds of 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. Guess the slides will be coming in. Sure glad we're not on the road anywhere. We did have some wind getting here today and Jim said he sure was grateful for the Safety Plus steering stabilizer.
