  1. Pulled into Las Vegas Saturday PM and will be here for a week b4 moving on to Parker. Had a wee problem coming thru the Virgin River Canyon in AZ on I-15 when the skylite on the Izusu shattered and blew off. Had to order a new one from Safelite glass and it will hopefully be in Thursday and installed. Valerie says the wind level in the little car is not too bad as long as it isn't raining.

Parking in Las Vegas with no way to secure the interior of the car should be interesting and a challenge. As long as we are here in LV, planning a ride down to the Hoover dam to see the new bridge. Not too sure about riding the motorcycles over it. Long way down.

  2. After 5 months in Texas hill country, during the coldest winter we've spent in 9 years, we will be headed West on I-10 Thursday AM.

Plan on stops in Ft. Stockton, El Paso, Tucson and Phoenix, we will land in Las Vegas for about a week and head North to Rapid City with plans to arrive there about the 10th-15th of April for the summer until October 15.

Getting real tired of rain, cold and wind. Time to move on.

  3. After 6 months and 6 days at the Rapid City KOA we will be leaving here Monday AM for the south. Plan on stops in Sydney, NE, Oakley and Wichita, Kansas and then to Gainsville and Fredericksburg, TX for the winter. As we are the only ones here at the time, it is getting lonesome and boring. Beautiful day today in the high 70's but tomorrow, Monday, is forecast for a high of 54 so it is time to leave.

Have 12 days to get to TX so we are not in a big hurry.

Glad to see Larry's first rally was a success and depending on circumstances, we may make the 2010 Rally.

Need to stop in Wichita to have the truck serviced at Doonan's. Been a year so its time.

  4. Arrived Rapid City about 6PM. Great roads and hardly any wind to speak of. No traffic either. Got all satellites set up in the dark and that was fun. Will be at the KOA on Highway 44 in Rapid for the summer.

Highways 287 & 220 north from Rawlins to Casper and and I-25 to Gillette were excellent. They have added many passing lanes on 220 from Muddy Gap to Casper and it is no problem. Independence Rock is still in place. Nobody stole it during the winter.

  5. Leaving Las Vegas tomorrow. 3/16 for CA and I have to remember to slow down to 55 at the border as I don't want to incite the CHP into any contests. Sure don't like going there but have to see the kids and kidlets every couple of yrs.

Figure to be in or around San Luis Obispo and Vacaville area for about a week each place and a couple of days in the Fresno area if we can find a place to park.
