  1. Escaped from the Colorado River and Parker. AZ this morning and will be hiding out at the Las Vegas RV resort on Nellis Blvd for 4 days. They have recently opened up a few sites that are 100' by about 30' with plenty of room for everything including the jeep, trailer etc. Bit pricey but well worth it.

Will depart here on 3/31 and head north and east to Rapid City on 4/3.

  2. Departed Rapid City on October 23rd after winterizing the campground and made it to the central coast of CA in 5 days. Really don't like going to CA with their 55 MPH when towing and they do watch for it. Not to forget the terrible roads, rougher then a cob in most places.

Spent 9 days in Atascadero, CA visiting kin in Fresno and other places.

Today we Pulled into Emerald Cove on the CA side of the CA side of the Colorado River from Parker, AZ where we will be until April.

  3. Once again it is time to head north for the summer. Departing Emerald Cove at Parker, AZ headed thru Las Vegas to Salt Lake City then east to Rawlins, Wyo then north and east to Rapid City KOA for our 6th summer. Sturgis will be the 74th annual event so don't expect the crowds to be too large until next year and #75. That one will be full of fun and games

  4. Into Emerald Cove just north of Earp, CA until April. No weather issues since Rapid City.

Just as a matter of info, the railroad crossing on 95 between Needles and Las Vegas has been repaired for the present. Don't know how long the repairs will last but at least it is now posted at 20 MPH. Highly recommend that you not exceed that speed.

  5. Well, got into Rapid City KOA on Sunday as planned. Monday, it started out a little slow but the snow picked up Monday evening and as of this morning, we have right at 24 inches of snow with drifts up to 4 ft. I-90 east and west are closed as well as 79 south to Nebraska until further notice.

And to think we left 90 degree weather and came up for this.

  6. shoulda posted this the 4th but got busy. Left Parker, AZ and went over the same RR tracks Mike did but at about 10 MPH as a train just went by. Fortunately was in 4th gear and it wasn't to bad. Rougher then a cob. Wound up in Beaver, Utah and now are in Rock Springs, WY. Figure on being in Rapid City on Sunday.

Lot of rain in/around Salt Lake City and wind up here on I-80

  7. Pulled into Emerald Cove by Parker AZ after a 2200 run from Rapid City down thru CA and will be here until about April 1 +/- a few days either way. Had a bout with California rough roads, they should be ashamed of their state. Don't have to go back there for a few years. Ran ahead of the rain leaving the coast.

Sure is getting nasty up north weather wise.

If you are on Parker Dam Road in this area, look for the truck.

  8. Departed Rapid City Oct 5 and hit snow all the way over to Lusk, Wyoming and Interstate 25. Woke up this morning in Rawlins, Wy with a wind chill of 11 and currently in Fillmore, Ut where it is 60 daytime and 37 overnight. Headed for San Luis Obispo, CA for a wedding on the 14th and then plan on being in Parker, AZ on Oct 23.

  9. Pulled into Rapid City KOA Friday about noon. Made it from Parker to here on $500.00 for diesel. I had set aside $700 for the trip so I'm halfway happy about that. No weather to speak of. Had the flex pipe between the exhaust maniford and the exhaust pipe/muffler separate coming into Caspar, Wyoming and it got really noisy real quick, especially when the jske brake came on. Real tight place to get into for repair so I'll let Black Hills truck/trailer take care of the repair.

On I-15 getting into Beaver, Utah, I had a little mishap with the dump valves on the trailer. Seems as I was in a hurry to get loaded and after fighting the power cord and water hose which are difficult to store when cold, I forgot to close the valves. Well, the outside cover vibrated loose. Valerie seen the bits and pieces of the cap after the trailer tires ran over it just before the windshield of the car became extremely blurry due to the unknown substances which engulfed the front of the Isuzu. Couldn't get within rifle shot of the front of the car till I hit it with a garden hose in Rock Springs, WY.

Other then that, we are entrenched in Rapid City until October when we will head south and west.

  10. Glad to see everyone had a great time in Hutch. Sorry to hear that Larry wont be going forward but everyone is in good hands with Steve and Gail.

We pulled into Parker, AZ or actually Earp, CA at Emerald Cover Resort this afternoon and will be here probably till mid March of 012. Then head north again. Wont make California this year. Too expensive.

  11. Hope everyone in Hutch is having a good time.

Left Rapid City this morning and wound up in Rawlins, WY this evening on our way to Parker, AZ by way of Salt Lake City where I hope I can beat Blake Richards (Bennett Truck Sales) out of a lunch. Been 10 years Sept 11 when we bought our truck from Blake. His first sale of a HDT for rv use.

Spend a couple of days there then down to Las Vegas for a couple more days then to Parker on October 25.

  12. Will be pulling out of Isleton, CA tomorrow (Monday)(Delta area) and hit I-80 and go east on I-80 to Winnemucca, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Cheyenne and then north to Rapid City arriving some time late Thursday or Friday, the 14th. There may be a couple of long mileage days but its gotta be done.

Been skirting weather for the last week here in CA the last week. Can't keep away from their insane fuel prices. $4.47/gallon diesel in Lodi yesterday. Hopefully have enuf fuel on board to get to Wyoming to get a few cents cheaper fuel.

All family are fine and got done with the yearly visits.

  13. After spending about 5.5 months in and around Parker, AZ, the time is upon us to relocate. Leaving Parker (Emerald

Cove) this morning and heading for Barstow, Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo, CA. Will spend a week or so in San Luis Obispo visiting with kids and grandkids. Gots to pat them on the head and let them know we are still around.

Weather here has been great but looks like we will hit a bunch of rain in the very near future.
