I am kind of wondering if there will be someone there with a solar set up I can look at.

I'm hoping Karen and I can make it to the rally, things are really up in the air at this time with my shoulder surgery on Monday. We were hoping on going to Alaska this summer starting at the WCR, and then heading up, might make it to the WCR and head home, but your welcome to give mine a look over any time, it's different in the way it's set up, solar panels on the trailer and everything else on the truck, but it works well for me this way.

Carl, if you can wait until the ECR, I can bring my vacuum filler with me. Or you can make a run to the house before then.

    David,

You know this is what Carl was waiting for. You da man, man.

Wondering if there's any interest in a North Rally, in 2019? Sometime between May 1 & September 30. The location would be based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Depending on the time of season, and toad vehicles, a trip to grizzly country is possible. Tech seminars might be possible, and would be tuned towards demand. Golf is available to all skill levels. Farm tours might be possible, again depending on demand. Let me know if there's any interest from the Alaska bound, or returning crowd.

Just throwing this out there, but how bout a summer long rally?
That way people traveling to Alaska could stop and spend a few days and get together with who ever else is in the neighborhood, I know that the group we are in have no hard travel plans, and this might be the same with others, but we are open to stopping and enjoying the sites, and company of others along the way.

    What ya think?

I need to drive yours sometime. :D

You can this winter. I’m hoping we meet up again in Arizona this winter.

Jim knows you have scouted out a lot of great places to ride.

Yep, I would love a 13/18, especially  for climbs and descents. There are lots of times where that half gear would be nice.

    Dan,

You would love a auto shift, I thought I never wanted one till I got one, no looking back.
And 560hp with 1850 torque doesn't hurt the power eather.

I got mine from discount ramps. Less than 90.00 for all 4 over the tire with rubber blocks. I love mine and in my winter trip over 6,000 miles the never came loose. But if you want baskets I have a set of 4 used a couple of times for sale 70.00.

Today marks 1 month that Sarah and I have been consistently boondocking and staying out of campgrounds with hookups (except the one night above at Holts RV to dump/fill) since we left Tuscon on Jan 12th. We dove head first into boondocking finally and we love it. We are now north of Phoenix about 3.5 miles off the paved road and Roger (HeWhoKnowsLittle) just came and joined us tonight.

Tomorrow is our 6 month anniversary since we left for full time back in August and we have learned so much in that time!

Well, I hope his generator doesn't bother your guys!

    Roger, was that a 2015?

Glad they took care of your landing legs.  I would imagine there was no cost to you?  Like I said at the Rally, they were taking care of a lot of people.

Mine's a 2014, I have heard that in that build timeframe they had bonding issues, no hard facts but I will find out more when I get to Mor/Ryde this week, now to get the jacks done so I can unhook the trailer, as pinning the jacks up by myself is a pita!!

    Roger

  9. In Goshen Indiana getting the front jacks replaced then to Elkhart to get Mor/ryde ti check the rubber springs, I have lost 2 of them this year, and it looks like I have 2 more getting ready to go, they are not bonded correctly, rubber is good, just not attached to the metal mounting plates.

Then if no bad weather might head to Canton Ohio to see big Al.

Just about the oldest truck HDT in the crowd and the newest.  I will admit though that the KW did ride nice...... ALMOST as nice as a Volvo B) !

Had a great time hanging around with y'all, Mexican market and restaurant plus the pizza was worth the diet set back!

Sad thing is that the Prevost coach next to us with the custom stacker trailer puts us both to shame!

Not most could put that crowed to shame, man I wish I had me some of  flames:P

  11. I know you didn't ask this, but I'll throw a wrench in the works. I have an 8 series Bobcat Skid Steer loader. It runs circles around my neighbors John Deere and my other neighbor's Kubota. It has higher rated lifting capacities and can maneuver in tighter spaces. Skid steers have basically unlimited attachment options for every conceivable job and are more compact in size. I bought mine used 16 years ago and it is still running like a champ. I went looking to buy a tractor like you are looking for and decided to stop in my local Bobcat dealer on a whim as I drove by. They had the one I bought sitting on consignment with a bunch of attachments for cheaper than I could get a new tractor. It may not be what you are looking for, but I say it is worth consideration. Bobcat's especially are construction grade equipment and are meant to run long hours day after day after day. A lot of the smaller JD's and Kubotas are meant more for occasional to moderate use, although people do put them into heavy use. Just food for thought.

We have 4 Bobcats in our fleet, and just about any attachment you would want or need.

Besides the buckets, and forks we have a broom, brush hog, log splitter, this is one tool I would never live without as when we down a tree, we can pick up the big branches with the splitter carry them away from the tree

and then cut them to length without bending over, split in place and move to the next one.

    Several diameters of augers, ect.

The only thing I don't like about using a Bobcat is some times you have to climb out of the cab and over the attachment if your working by yourself, but I am looking at a JCB skid loader with a side door for our next one.
