  1. tom here, just wondering if that flux capacitor you are always talking about could be rewired to work on the ac unit??????????
  2. Hello all... hope everyone enjoyed a good July 4th weekend! We had a great time with Barbara & Wayne here for a few days... you will remember them from Q, front and center in the class photo, and thanks to Carol & Steve for inviting them there so we could all get acquainted! Anyway, they did some coming and going from our campground to explore Jackson and Tetons, so we got visits in and also enjoyed a delicious dinner at a recently-opened restaurant not far from us in Bondurant, WY. Good food and good company! Best wishes, and looking forward to more of you RV friends headed our way! Always fun to reconnect! Dianne & Tom
  3. Seems a lot going on out there with our little rv family. Many interesting locations and fun to follow along with blogs... we're traveling along through Alaska with you, Sue & Paul. Would love to get to the Pacific Northwest and explore the coast like you are, Jeri & Terry. Glad to know Carol is off to a good start after her surgery! Sorry, Lee, to hear about some of the events in your "neighborhood," but glad you are feeling better and getting your meds/health back on track. Some of you are in hot country... we here in Wyoming and Montana are still waiting for summer! Think it's just around the bend Sure was fun to have time with Sandie & Jim and Tina & Jeff here!!! Wondering about you, Julie and Mike??? All moved in and settled in your new home? Delcie & Freddy... we picture you there in your campground and wish you well. Much warmer there than here! Remember fondly our time there with you last summer... hug our little grandsons for us, please, if they come by. Others of you that I haven't mentioned... we think of you all fondly and do keep tabs. Looking forward to Lynn & Roger here in another month or so. I think Linda & Ed are dropping by, also, at some point. Nancy & Dave are just up the road in Jackson... have had some quick visits when in town. Well, that's about all the catching up for now. Tom is finally out fishing today!!! Be well, everyone! Dianne & Tom
  4. Hi Lee... glad things are smoothing out a bit for you after the physical and all the tests/appointments. Think you will really enjoy the A/C in your shop! Can picture you there . Be well! D & T
  5. So special to meet up with friends along the way in this fulltiming adventure! It truly meant so much to us to have you all visit us at our little Warren Bridge Campground! Thank you, Sandie & Jim, and Tina & Jeff, for taking time to route yourselves here. Was great to reconnect!!! Wishing everyone a terrific summer! Be well, D & T
  6. Lee... keep us posted, please. We're keeping good thoughts for you!!!
  7. Jeff... remembering our time with you and Tina at Cherry Creek last year when it snowed and we all agreed that April might have been too early to move up into Colorado. Well, it's May and the darned "springime in the Rockies" is rather annoying! As much as we also love beautiful Colorado and consider it home, summer arrives to slowly. Anyway, we did enjoy a good time last year when it stopped snowing and was fun with Lynn & Roger and Julie & Mike there also. Hang in there... summer's coming! We are still having snow/rain mix here, off and on here in Wyoming. Nancy & Dave were here for a couple days and it was, of course, a good time together. They went out to the campground with us yesterday to check it out. Roads and campsites are dry... we will be moving there Wednesday. N & D headed on to Jackson today to soon begin their summer job. Will ge good to be nearby and see them occasionally. Pa and D... we love it here! Just ready for the sun to shine more! Be well, everyone! Dianne & Tom
  8. Well, Roger... since you and Lynn "still live" in IL, seems that remaining residents there will work out for you Glad to know you will still be coming our way. Check out Warren Bridge Campground online. No reservations, but also no electricity. We do have water and a dump station. That is, if it ever stops snowing... another couple inches overnight of the wet, fluffy stuff. Still hoping we will move there next Wednesday, the 14th, and planning to open after that. In the meantime, we are in a good spot here in Pinedale. Keep us posted as to your timing... will be great to have time together again!!!
  9. Hey Roger... a couple more things Tom and I were just recalling about our SD registrations. Though we have our mail through Americas Mailbox, we take care of our registrations ourselves rather than paying them for their service to register vehicles... either way works. We have had good luck dealing directly with the courthouse. Depending on the first letter of your last name, registrations are due in different months of the year. For example, with us being a letter W, we pay our registrations in November. Your "R" might be September or October... don't know... but, when you pay your registrations the first time they will be at a prorated rate, and then you will receive notice of your full annual amount due in "your month." System seems to work well. Also, just keep this in mind... we are SO looking forward to you and Lynn visiting us! Go west, young man! Get your drivers license and registrations, and come see us!!! And, Lee... we hope you are still thinking to come for a visit when you go get your drivers license renewed! Many of you have said you will "swing by." Looking forward to all the visits! It is snowing in Wyoming today, but think how nice and green it will be here for the summer Be well, everyone!
  10. Hi all... gonna jump in here on the SD residency. Our annual registration renewals in November were $221 on the motorhome, and $94 for the car. Love dealing with South Dakota! Went there in person July 2012 and got our drivers licenses issued, quickly and efficiently, and it's great that we need go there only every five years to renew those. Also, registered to vote there and do the absentee ballot thing. We took care of the registration in person the first time, also, easy at the courthouse Rapid City... quick and efficient, and we walked away with our new plates. Now take care of the renewals yearly via the internet. I am guessing, Roger, that your higher rate quoted has to do with sales tax on the new rig. If you can show SD that you paid at least 3% sales tax, you will not need to pay that to them. If you paid less than 3%, they will collect the difference. We went through that when we bought our rig in Q and had to pay AZ sales tax and then settle with SD. I think I have said this all correctly??? Anyway, some states require you have a home or permanence of some sort, other than a mail service. South Dakota is very RV friendly, and we are pleased to be with them I don't think we could have remained residents of New Mexico or Colorado without a permanent residence. We are most happy with South Dakota. Hope this is of some help
  11. Gosh, we haven't posted anything in ages... so, just a quick note to say that we have enjoyed reading all the posts and staying up on things with everyone. Some of you we are more regularly connected to via Blogs, Facebook and email... others, glad for this connection! Sorry for those with rig/vehicle problems, and grateful that all are safe from storms. Looking forward to visits of those who have said they will stop by and see us in Wyoming!!! The plans for Q in late January sound good... will be good to join in for a gathering then and catch up around the fire each evening! Wishing everyone a great, safe summer! Dianne & Tom
  12. Good day to all! Many good and interesting posts... will just send out a blanket note here. Welcome Linda & Ron. Thanks, Pa & D for the plug about us and Warren Bridge Campground. We look forward to visits from any of you travelers in our area this summer. Must be a great place, and we are taking over from great hosts! Will try to do you proud! Lynn & Roger... geeze! Or, maybe the right word is "krikey!" You all out east have had "interesting" weather and now it sounds as though travel is an added challenge. Enjoy your new home! Lots of good "meet ups" and visits with friends along the way is always a joy. We are having good visits here in Benson and Tucson with Classless folk. Wishing everyone safe travels and great adventures! Be well! D & T
  13. Lynn & Roger... Great to see the photo of the outside of your new rig! The Airstream looks so small next to the motorhome! Loved seeing the photos of the inside you sent us previously, and the Jeep. Soon you guys will be all settled in and enjoying your new home. Be patient with the process, and with each other Transitions can be challenging, but we know you will love the changes you have made. Look forward to seeing you both down the road. Be well! Fun evening at Julie & Mike's yesterday with Nancy & Dave, and Delcie & Freddy! Be well, everyone!
  14. We have just returned to Benson after a few days in "Lee Territory". We had great visits with him and Denise, and toured his new shop... very nice, indeed! Our dinner at the Adobe Deli was wonderful! Denise's first time there... delicious food and better company! We even talked Lee into a demonstration of his Rubix Cube talents... dang, he is amazing!!! You never cease to amaze us, Lee! And, as always, fun to share tips and ideas... hope your new doorknobs are fabulous, Denise! We feel blessed to have had a bit of time with these two special people! Thanks for everything! Dianne & Tom
  15. Glad you have arrived safely, Lee. Read your post at the campfire this evening, and we all cheered for you! Did you hear us? You are missed, but glad we all had this time together. Be seeing you down the road
  16. Wanderin - what's with the comment about me being full of hot air??? Readytoride - we are amazed how uncrowded Plamosa Road is. Could easily park 20 rigs in this area where we are all alone near Mile Marker 1.
  17. Jeri - glad to hear that you and Terry will soon be on your way. We are at Plomosa Road with friends... let us know what day you will be arriving, and we will move to La Posa South that morning, dump our tanks and be ready to meet up and help you set up an area. Looking forward to our gathering... everyone travel safely! Dianne & Tom
  18. And, HI back to you, Lee. Just talking about you earlier (not to worry... it was nice). Anyway, wondering when you are headed to Q. We plan to be there the 9th or 10th, we think. Looking forward to seeing you and others! Be well!
  19. Keeping good thoughts for you, Jeri, and you also, Terry. Be well, and we will look forward to seeing you both soon.

  23. Hi Sue... would be great to meet up and get acquainted with you and Paul! We would be happy to drive to Oceanside... yes, a crazy time for scheduling around a holiday. Would lunch or dinner on Thursday work? Might be able to make Friday or Saturday work, but Thursday would be best. Please e-mail us at tdhomestead12@gmail.com Look forward to making a plan! Dianne
  24. Happy Friday, everyone... fun reading along and keeping up with the adventures! For us, some changes (yeah, like that never happens . We had planned to stay in Borrego Springs until after Christmas and then move on to Yuma. We are now at Jojoba Hills SKP! Our solar project plans began taking shape, and we ended up going to a solar supply place in Riverside County and then on here. Amazing what can happen to plans when your home has wheels!!! Anyway, we will be here a few days, and then move to a friend's yard in Fallbrook, CA on Monday for a week... family and friends there, including some "project time." (We always think of you, Dave, when we say the word "project.") LOL. Then on to Yuma by the new year!!! Sue and Paul... where in San Diego are you? Still looking forward to meeting you both. Fallbrook is in north San Diego County, and then we will travel I-15 south thru San Diego before heading east on I-8. Maybe a cup of coffee somewhere? If not, be seeing you in Q. To everyone... best wishes for this holiday season, wherever you are, whatever uou do. Travel safely! D & T
  25. Hi all... just updated our blog at www.tdhomestead.blogspot.com. There, in living color, is a photo of Lee... proof that he is healing nicely from his chair episode Fun to have Denise and her friends parked off about 1/4 mile from us here in Borrego Springs, and nearby is Nina and Paul of the Wheelingit blog! Also, have met several more Canadian couples that Toni and Doug sent to us... great people! We will be having a full moon party here around the fire... wish you were here! Just another month and we will be seeing many of you in Q... looking forward to that! Best regards, D & T
