  1. When in May? Kerrville is about 1 1/4 hours away from our house. Would be great to get together again. Roger, y'all going south this winter? Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  2. Hi y'all! Hope to see you sometime also. We are going to stay close to the house this winter. As I type this it is 28 degrees outside. I thought I lived in south Texas not Iowa. LOL! Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  3. I'm officially an "old Fart". To celebrate we went to Wurstfest in New Braunfels last night. Had some beer, sausage and listened to polka music. Yeehaw! https://wurstfest.com/ Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  4. Not exactly. We've missed our kitties and decided it was time. Typical kitten lots of energy and Cali keeps an eye on her too. Lots of fun to watch. Whenever you open a door to a room or closet it's like it has a vacuum and sucks her in. Zip she's in there and at barely 2.5 lbs. she's so small. Our kitties (Sadie and Levi) that traveled with us were 14 and 15 pounds and not fat either. I don't think she'll get close their size. Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  5. It was more than over due to bump this back to the top. 😊 We have had so much rain since Labor day. Our landscaping is where it was 3 months ago. The August heat went into September and October rain. The rain stopped last week finally. Landscapers should be able to get going by next week. We made an addition to our family Sunday with a 2.5 lb. three month old kitten. The shelter named her "Annabelle" but we've decided to change it to "Zoey". She and Cali are adjusting quite quickly. Hope everyone is doing well, we are. Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  6. Right now this has been the second wettest Sept. in history in San Antonio. Just less the 1 1/2 inches to beat the record and it's suppose to rain Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The landscapers haven't been able to work for nearly 2 weeks and some of what they've done has washed away. We are definately finding out where the water likes to go. Very humid also as you would imagine too. Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊 GO BRONCOS AND ROCKIES!!!!!!!!
  7. We were the same way. Lived in Denver area nearly 40 years and didn't visit the Coors Brewery until after we sold the house and just before we headed out fulltiming. Still haven't been in the Colorado state capitol building either. I went skiing twice while I live there and the last time was the mid 80's. I'm sure there was other touristy stuff we just never got around to. LOL! Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊 GO BRONCOS and ROCKIES!!!!!!!!
  8. Congrats on the sale of the "Beave". I can't believe what that rv put you guys through, you handled it much better than I could. Hope you find something "simple" and can escape the cold. NFL football is about to begin. As if you didn't know. LOL! Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  9. I'm slowly getting back into the S&B swing of things. I've joined an afternoon bowling league, started a once a week yoga class, and ride my bike most mornings in the neighborhood. Every hill I coast down I have to pedal up on the way back home most of the time it's a 7 mile ride. Never did yoga before, this is going to be good and I haven't bowled in a league since 1997. My racing buddy and I decided back the first weekend of June that the summers were going to be too hot to race. So that toy has been put away until after Labor Day. Lots to do still around the house and yard. Guess there always will be. LOL! Travel safe everyone. Jeff 😊
  10. We took a day trip on Friday to Port Aransas with the pup. We sat on the beach for an hour or so. The dog loves the beach but not the water. LOL! She had to stay on her leash and couldn't chase sea gull shadows. It was kind of driving her nuts. We had some great BBQ sandwiches at a place called MacDaddy's. Tina had brisket and I had a Dagwood. The Dagwood had sliced brisket, sausage and pork with pepper jack cheese. OMG!!! Dave if you like trains Sandpoint, ID. is a place to go. We stayed at the county fair grounds. Jerry, we've stayed at the lodges in Lewiston and Coeur D Alene. Beautiful view of the Snake River at the Lewiston lodge but there were stickers in the camping area. It didn't seem to get much use. Coeur D Alene is a very nice and well used camping lodge. Park on grass and the lodge always had something going. Coeur D Alene is one of our favorite cities so pretty and bike trails. You can ride to Spokane. https://www.elks.org/lodges/LodgeFacilities.cfm?LodgeNumber=896 https://www.elks.org/lodges/LodgeFacilities.cfm?LodgeNumber=1254 http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/idaho/sandpoint/bonner-county-fairgrounds-13725 Travel safe everyone Jeff 😊
  11. I think they have given up on the forum. Most stay in contact with Facebook and we don't do Facebook. Since we quit full timing Tina has closed our blog. We have landscapers working in our yard as I type. Building a wall to hold back a hill and hauling dirt to the back yard for grass. Lots going on outside. Still need a lot of furniture for the house. Good luck on your negotiations. We might be in Arizona this winter too for a little bit. Travel safe everyone Jeff 😊
  12. We got our internet at the new house the day before we left for Phoenix. Got back home on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. On Wednesday (5/30) the propane company came out to bury the propane tank. The second or third swipe with the bucket he ripped out the fiber and conduit and killed our internet. Just got it fixed last night. Went racing last weekend southeast of Dallas in Ferris, TX. Boy was it hot. The generator ran the whole time except for 3 or 4 hours each night. I didn't win but also didn't break anything either. I'm ready to relax for a day or two. Still lots to do at the house. Travel safe everyone. Jeff ☺️ Also there is a lot of tubing on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers around here.
  13. We had lunch with Jim and Sandie yesterday. Lots of catching up was done. They are looking good and are ready to hit the road again soon. Our Granddaughter wants to be an EMT so last night she had her tech school graduation and Thursday will be her high school graduation with a party tomorrow night. Just a little busy. LOL! We'll be heading back to Texas on Friday. Travel safe everyone. Jeff ☺️
  14. We are on the move toward Phoenix for a Granddaughter's high school graduation. We've stopped in senic Fort Stockton for the night. Tomorrow night should be Deming then Tempe. Sure glad we washed the motorhome Monday we've been rained on twice this afternoon. Somehow the rain gods know when we are on the road. LOL! The map worked for me. Travel safe everyone. Jeff ☺️
  15. Congrats on your new place! We got the keys (and garage door openers) to our new house yesterday. New couch and mattress were delivered yesterday also. Tomorrow the refrigerator, washer and dryer, today road trip to Bandera to get the hutch at an antique store. Still need a lot of furniture. Emptied our little 6x8 enclosed trailer and haven't seen some of the stuff in 6 1/2 years. We also have a 10x20 that is stuffed but no furniture. Last week the weather was nice this week it's rainy. Bummer. Travel safe everyone. Jeff ☺️
  16. We're so sorry to hear about Marsha. We will pray for a full and speedy recovery. Travel safe everyone... Jeff and Tina
  17. Tina and I met with Jeri and Terry today for a BBQ lunch in Blanco today. It was good to see them again and catch up on some of the news. If your ears were ringing you know why. They say they'll be back in the fall so maybe we can spend more time with them. We had a walk thru at our house yesterday and looks like we'll start moving in by the end of the month. It will be a new adventure. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  18. Congrats on the new house! We may be by next winter. We had too many cloudy days this past winter. Visitor parking is very handy. We will be in Phoenix the end of May for our youngest Granddaughters high school graduation. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  19. Not even close. I think our motorhome can be at the house for 3 days to load or unload. There is Potters Creek COE about 6 miles away though right on Canyon Lake. No pool or hot tub either. Sorry. The blog has been opened up again. Nothing on the travel side but lots of house updates are there. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  20. Tina decided to shut it down since we weren't moving, maybe when we travel again she'll post on it again. The house is nearing completion. I think we'll be moving in next month. You coming to Texas, stop by for a visit? Travel safe everyone Jeff
  21. Fantastic news!!! So glad y'all will be able to travel again. We'll be spending a lot of our summer in Texas with the new house. Travel safe everyone. Tina and Jeff
  22. Hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I did. Our builder says maybe 60 days before they are done but we think it will be less. Running power and water to the house now. The schedule says the house is about 85% done. Still hope to be moving in by April 1. Since mid December there have been more days below average temperatures than above. Average is around 65. Lots of cloudy days, It's been ugly at times. Some days remind me of the Oregon coast. Gray, drizzling - Yuck. May be in Arizona next winter. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  23. OMG! It's cold here near San Antonio. We had some sleet and freezing rain yesterday and the Weather channel says right now it's 19 and feels like 7. Suppose to back in the 70's by the weekend. We haven't spent a winter here until this year and others that come here yearly say this has been the coldest winter they've seen. The electric heaters are have been on full blast for the last day and a half. Today's high is forcast to be 41. If it wasn't for the house build we'd be a Arizona. It's warmer in a house than an rv. Also suppose to go to Bandera with a camping group this weekend. After sitting in one place for so long (3 months) I hope the slides work. LOL! Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  24. Wow Steve what an ordeal. Glad you are ok now. We are staying by the Guadalupe River. In the summer there is lots and lots of tubers, winter it's fishing (they stock the river). Yesterday afternoon I was letting Cali (the dog) run and play along the river. Suddenly she started yelping, I ran to see what had happened. She had a fish hook in her lip on the right side. We ended up rushing her to the vet. They had to put her out to remove it. She was out of it most of last night but is back to her old self this morning. Glad she didn't swallow it. Normal temps around here are the low 60's for this time of year and we should be back there by the weekend. Guess a year ago it was in the 70's. Can't wait to get and stay warm. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
  25. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!! It's COLD here in Texas. Saw 18 degrees this morning and San Antonio went 40 hours straight under 32 degrees until noon yesterday. Suppose to be back to normal by the weekend (60's). Hope the rest of you are warm. Just might be in AZ next year at this time. Travel safe everyone. Jeff
